Forza Motorsport Shouldn't Be Missing a Feature Like This!

  • Racing tutorials, in the form of license tests like in Gran Turismo, or Rally School in WRC are not only useful, but also features that can be enjoyable for players, whether they are new or experienced. Forza Motorsport, being competition focused and targeted at a casual audience, absolutely should have a Race School feature and it surprises me that it doesn't.

I have to think with the supposedly advanced AI they have you racing against that they could plop you in various overtake scenarios and then the game could assess your overtake strategy and provide on the spot feedback, it feels like we should be in a place where players could have a virtual pit boss coaching them during the race.

The biggest frustration is that they refuse to put something like a driving school into the game but on their Facebook they make posts every day trying to teach people how to drive. It makes absolutely no sense. They have the horsepower of next generation consoles in a refuse to do something like a driving school. At this point you can even make it a separate app/game to download and have it connect to the main game. It's ridiculous, I'm tired of people who don't know how to drive running me off the road. I'm not saying I'm the best driver in the world but it's all about racing a clean line and knowing when to pass and when to block

    1 License requirements
    2 player bans from 1hr to a 24hr
3 cars not going ghost when they loose control
4 ramming from behind and not receiving a penalty
5 no pay to win cars

As a Horizon noob I who doesn’t really watch motorsport I had to watch a few YT videos on tyres and fuel so something in game would have been worthwhile.
I also learned a lot from the Horizon Racing Academy in FH5 - players using the eventlab to effectively make these licence tests for Forza.

You’re right, whilst I’m enjoying the game as an old school forza tuner I’m aware that I’m only winning all the races because most players don’t understand tuning. Or can’t be bothered to learn. I guess as turn 10 hasn’t put any real effort into this title the player base will decline just as forza 7 did. Turn 10 = 0 originality, 0 good ideas. 0 trust.

This is my biggest complaint about Forza, the missing racing school - including sportsmanship. And what you learn in single player is exactly NOT how to race in multiplayer. Singleplayer enforces aggressive to brutal race style. - No surprise at all those newcomers to multiplayer drive as they do. Also, we need featured events for lower classes (single and multiplayer). - nearly everything that is featured content for now is mostly R or higher. This is not what the newcommer will be able to confidentially master.

      @michael_boss 8 месяцев назад +2

So true. When everything in single player is a version of “chase the rabbit,” with a heavy emphasis on “don’t lose the leader at turn one,” it’s no wonder people drive exactly the same way in multi-player.

I would love such a feature! I'm not the best driver, yet often struggle in finding where I make mistakes or how to improve further. This could be a useful tool for getting better (for all level players - except top tier probably 🙂).

Two best things with new Forza.. 1: you are back making content for a game i love/hate.. And do an awsome Job at it! Keep on!
2: after only racing new Forza since earlybaccess untill last week.. Then fired up iracing again.. OMG.. This is so good! 150 fps on triple monitor, actually awsome graphic.. (not raytracing and fancy stuff) but good. Great racing. The feel...
My first race? Bathurst in Gte. (thats kind of high powerd gt3 with less downforce and no abs..) awsome online race. Two wide from t2 over the mountain..
I had that rush in Forza too. But that was during the pre release on the first online races. That laguna short.. 2 wide all the way from start thru t1 and to corkscrew.. So its possible in Forza too..

i agree... i think the problem starts with game pass, it puts so many casual player in lobby's and just they just don't know how to drive clean and calm. win it in the first corner style. its stopping me wanting to drive it already. i would happily pay full price for the game if it meant i could race with like minded drivers as i do in rf2 and iracing etc

The career and single player is poor in Forza Motorsport. The driving and multiplayer (spec series at least) are good and a great improvement.
I just want an old GT and Forza singleplayer experience with a modern driving and multiplayer experience…

as someone that plays racing games on a DD sim, forza multiplayer can be really annoying at time, I am pretty sure 99 percent of them never watched a race in their life the way they drive so a racing school would deffo be something turn10 failed to deliver

2:05 For me, it was absolutely refusing to be filtered by the driving test in Driver. I would never resign myself to not being able to pass the tutorial in a game. The persistence to complete that is definitely what kick started my love for racing games.

There is no global assist setting that turns off the driving line. You have to turn it off manually. That makes me think that T10 was afraid to go really serious.
The lack of driving school is also very telling, but the game anyway has so many issues that they'd better focus on them.
Another thing that annoys me is the lack of settings for popular wheels.
But I still like it a lot. The handling and physics are believable and fun.

I thought you were gonna say something more regarding the event stoppages or something like that. Like where are the yellow flags, safety cars and red flags. I hoped that with the pit stops taking a more important role in the game these other features that join them would be a no brainer. This could mix up the strategies in a good way.

    • @LucasMir0
      @LucasMir0 8 месяцев назад +2

There's no point in adding "event stoppages" to a game where all of the races are sprint races, the only thing safety cars would do is waste time and make the racing worse because the good drivers would be forced to race 'bad actors' again in a restart and the usual "Forza Mayhem" would be multiplied by 10x.

It would be extremely hypocritical to Forza ever have a system like this, it's the whole point to why Forza motorsport even exist, the creator and founder of T10 was frustrated with the licenses in Gran Turismo and decided to make a game where you didn't had to do this silly challenges to play it. Forza should never ever have this and still call itself Forza.

I don't think anyone cares, we just want a good game where we can race and not be bombarded with rammers. If Microsoft and Turn 10 want FM to be their track sim-cade racing competitor to Gran Turismo, they need to add tools which helps new players to get better.

Because if not, then that means Turn 10 encourages players to do chaos in a closed-track form with Motorsport style.
This isn't Wreckfest. Turn 10 should give players those tools on how to race cleanly.

As a casual racer, I would welcome a driving school. There are just too many concepts that I don’t really understand and it’s so intimidating looking through the tuning menus.
I’d also like to learn how to drive manual and when it’s appropriate to shift up or down.
I also want to get my first racing wheel, right now I’m looking at the Logitech G923 but I hear mixed things about it.

With shifting, that's something I can help with. I'll make a video about it, because it changes from car to car and it's helps to know how to work it out.
I dunno about then G923 personally, but I had a G29 and a G920 and they were fine for me. Forza on wheel was the bigger problem
