I personally like it however they could have changed up the design just a little for the fact of it being the first one to feature the kings effigy and I still think the effigy should have included the imperial crown on the kings head . But regardless I have ordered one and can’t wait too get it.
@@forgottencreationmaybe not if Charles plans on abdicating when he hits 80 as has been suggested then Charles coins will only have a 4-5 year run before William effigy coins will replace him
Great review Andre, at least Perth Mint have much better packaging than Royal Australian Mint proof coins with their recycled case & tissue paper. Should have been double the mintage to allow more collectors to be able to get one as being the first coin with the King effigy was always going to be a sought after release & should have been a different kangaroo design. Typical story though with another one of the Australian Mints that don’t cater for the collectors market.
We heard the rumour that RAM is planning to change their packaging...😉 It always hard to get the mintage right for the mints, make it too small and it sells out, but a lot of collectors miss out, make it too big and everyone gets it, but then there is no sell out...😉
Yes that’s true but on really popular releases like the first proof coin with the king effigy mintage should be higher than they are so more collectors can get them like the RAM minting 10 million $1 coins king effigy coins so every collector can get them, they can still easily have small mintages on special releases as they do throughout the year. That’s great news RAM changing their packaging, the coins are excellent designs & quality but the current packaging just lets them down
@@TheCoinCompanyyou said “the first Australian legal tender coin to feature King Charles the third effigy”. You did NOT mention whether you were referring to uncirculated or circulated, so I presume you meant all legal tender coins. This is NOT the first legal tender in Australia to feature the new effigy.

Thank you for watching our review. Some people would probably argue that this is classic and the most recognizable Perth Mint design, thus it was the right decision... 😉
I agree, new era should’ve been new design in my opinion but I’m not a collector of these coins so maybe the collectors who do collect them prefer the same design as previous years perhaps?
@@mark10270 it i very hard for the mint to satisfy everyone, there will be always someone who wont like design/mintage/theme etc... I guess this is a human nature... we are all different... 😉
I purchased this coin I agree with you 💯. Good video.. thanks

As with all monarchs we will likely get variations as the years go by
Congrats on your purchase, and agree crown would be a very nice addition!

Picked up one at Australia Post on Friday 19/01/24.
Congrats on your purchase, great coin to add to the collection!

Misinformation! The 1st coin to feature this effigy that is legal tender was released last year - the 2023 $1 coin.
Please see our other comments re uncirculated coins...😉

Only 7500 mintage and proof quality....overpriced
Nevertheless it is basically a sell out...😉
Boring coin, can just get the BU version next month, first year of King Charles. Same thing

The third coin, not the first.
As we mentioned already, the review is about uncirculated, silver coin, not circulating currency. 😉
