  • Many of you have heard that it is not our job to determine what is survivable but what is searchable. This is a FACT.
Our members arrived at this well invovled house fire and found one remaining serachable room which size-up indicated to be a bedroom. A rapid VES was performed on this room, and after it was completed defensive firefighting operations took over.
JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEARCH THE WHOLE HOUSE DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULDN'T SEARCH PART OF IT... Of course, this needs to be coordinated with command and the other fireground operations.
⭐️ Join us NEXT WEDNESDAY (January 17) for another Podcast and Live Q&A on search operations and tactics. ⭐️
I'll be joined by my friends Chris Ford (Capt, Columbia L7), Bill Cunningham (Flint Hill, SC - formerly a captain in Columbia), and Drew Evans (Technician, Truck 16, DCFD).
We'll be talking about search techniques and tactics, some victim rescue stories, and searching survivable spaces. Drop your comments below and be sure to tune in. 👊🏼
