It’s beautiful! You were brave to cut the quilt on camera, I never could have done that. I also noticed you are up and moving really well. Thank you for sharing. Good luck on your assignments and exams.
It is brave to cut it any time and I have done it on camera before.....it is just a hold your breath and hope for the best kind of thing but you have to have a new blade in the cutter and a lot of weight on the ruler. I am basically all healed from the hip replacement and moving abnout is no problem. The only thing I can't do is stand without support for very long as that is due to bad back muscles and not my hip.
Great job on the quilt Miss Julie! I held my breath for you while you were cutting!! LOL Incidentally, I like to use a suction handle grip thing on my ruler when I'm making long cuts like that, you can find them in the bathroom/shower section of any big box store. (I think they're meant to give a hand hold in and out of the shower.) It really helps spread out the effectiveness of the pressure. Glad to see you up and about!
How pretty ❤ coincidentally I was just watching a video on Old Irish Craftswork channel a video titled Hands Episode 2 Irish Patchwork (I saved it in my favorites playlist) anyway they just showed this very same pattern 💕
@@juliethornton I'm sure you'd make any quilt you make look ezpz 😉 I'm late 50's & just starting out & made up my mind to make the grands a quilt, a boy & a girl, & I'm leaning towards a cross ✝️ quilt ... No pattern just piece it together as I go... 1 of a kind thing I'm hoping .. nyhoo! :) Best wishes 💕🇺🇲
It is a nice design and well worth making. Good for you for making quilts for yuour grandchildren. I didn't start qui;lting until I was in my 50s and it is never too late to start.
Well done Julie the quilt looks lovely . You were brave cutting it as you did. I would imagine your friend was thrilled with it. Thank for sharing. Did you a you have someone quilt it or you did it by hand yourself.
Thank you Kare. I quilted it myself as I do all my quilts. I figure that if I put all that work into hand sewing the hexagons the least I can do is quilt it myself. The binding is also sewn on by hand.
Thank you. I have used these clips since I started making quilts and find them far superior to traditional binding clips and they are also a lot cheaper.
That is so lovely! The 3D texture from the quilting is perfect. It's a real heirloom for your lucky friend.
Thank you very much
Such a beautiful quilt. Truly a treasure!
Thank you

Thank you very much. I haven't yet had a problem cutting long lengths but I will keep your tip in mind. Thanks
I use non- plastic medical tape 1/2" pieces put 6 on back of quilting ruler, stops it from slipping. Beautiful quilt Julie
Thank you for the tip. I will keep it in mind for next time.
Julie! Beautiful work!! Mine will take about 3 years to complete. It’s my nightly tv project. Keep up the beautiful work!
Thank you very much Virginia.

@@juliethornton well done Julie , you have done an amazing job. Wish I could be half as good.
oh, using hair clips to hold the binding is so smart :0c
