When we were kids, my sister used to dream of catching a Canada Goose by the neck, because they're so obviously evil. I'm glad that she never did, because it likely would have cost her a finger or two. They are the absolute worst descendants the dinosaurs produced.

Canada's drinking age is 18 in some provinces and 19 in others. The joke is that most of us ignore it and get an older friend or our parents to buy it for us. My dad started buying my beer for me when I was 16 so he could keep track of how much I was drinking. Also Canada Post is not that slow. People just forget how big our country is and how little infastructure it has in some places.

10:40 Saskatchewan, Canada. It's a meme for Americans. There are no mountains in Saskatchewan. Hollywood once made a movie (with Tyrone Power) about Mounties, called Saskatchewan! (the exclamation point is part of the movie's title). The slogan: "Filmed entirely in the glory of the Canadian Rockies!" (which are in Alberta and B.C.) 22:40: Scarborough is a suburb of Toronto; the picture is Banff National Park in Alberta. (What Americans think Canada looks like.) And, finally: Canada Geese -- they have teeth on their tongues! and can break your leg with their wings.

Good Morning Tyler: The photo's of a town with a mountain in the background is Banff, Alberta (in the past and present). Saskatchewan is a prairie province - basically flat, no mountains nearby. Scarborough, Ont. is a city near Toronto - again no mountains nearby. It's our way of mocking how much people from other countries don't know about Canada or our geography. Each province has a different legal drinking age but it is usually 18 or 19. We just start drinking much earlier, usually about 15 or so. The Canadian Post Office is atrocious - if they don't lose our mail we might get something within the next month or so. Terrible, terrible service. Many, many U.S. TV shows and movies are filmed in Canada because of the tax incentives and the difference in the U.S./Canadian dollar. You really should watch a video about Terry Fox. He was definitely a great man. This is one called Anything's Possible. ruclips.net/video/3BzyHYZgMz8/видео.html

My high school French teacher and his son lived in a cabin in the woods outside town. They used to let their two dogs (a St. Bernard and a Bouvier/Newfie dog) go running in the forest. Sometimes those (huge) dogs would tag-team chase a bear, so I am not surprised to hear that about your Newfoundlander chasing them.

The second meme about not expecting customers in the worst conditions is actually really funny. It’s not that “Well Canadians are hardy and will go out in anything” because while this may be somewhat true most people can’t wait to get home and not go out again when it’s miserable.
The gist is if that when you work in essential services or the type of retail that is always open (lot more rare up here in Canada than it is in the US) and it’s No one but Polar bears or crazy snowboarders wants to be out in this kind of day and you bust your butt going in seeing nothing but piles of the white and barely another sole, you figure “Well hell, at least it’s going to be dead” but…NOPE…. Suddenly everyone decides they need to stock up and it’s way busier then normal with customers looking like the meme.

We have literally had all 4 seasons in a single day before, it can be snowing in the morning, spring like in late morning, very early afternoon, then summer temps in the mid afternoon, then fall like weather by the evening. This is why we send our kids to school and daycare with literally all outside clothing! Because the weather will be totally different by the time you leave. For the Canadian drinking age, the joke is around the fact that there's a lot of underaged drinking. So while there's an official drinking age, most people have already been drinking well before that. As for the Canadian geese, they can be very aggressive when guarding their offspring. They can be upto 14lbs - 24lbs with a wingspan upto 50". So when you see a large bird come racing towards you in a frenzy, it can intimidate a lot of people. The banana bread thing was like 'preheating an oven to bake something' so she wants her apartment pre-heated before she gets home. Easiest way to convert temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit is double the temperature, subtract the first digit, then add 32. So 10 degrees C would be 50 degrees F (10 x 2 = 20, subtract 2 = 18, add 32 = 50)

The outside seating available one is funny because where the the majority of Canadians live there is outside seating but for a large chunk of the year it’s kind of unusable unless you really like the cold. Yet, just our sheer “I want my patio-ness” or whatever you want to call it, we will sit outside in the worst weather 😂 I’ve been down in the more southern states when it’s actually quite nice out (Mid teens Celsius - I think that’s around 60 F lol) and the patios are empty, heaters are on and still everyone is inside with sweaters. Meanwhile, in Canada people are “I don’t care if I’m wearing a parka and it’s snowing, It’s not THAT cold, I’m sitting outside.”

10C is not cold in winter. That's actually really warm in winter. It's light jacket weather, though you should still pay attention to the wind, as it's not that warm if there's a stiff breeze.
On my gaming forum there's a guy from Greece who thinks I'm insane whenever I comment that -10C isn't cold, and even -20C isn't that cold - providing there's no wind. He once said that he'd like to move to Canada, but it had to be a city with a large population, at least one university (he lectures on philosophy and is a published author of horror stories), and somewhere that doesn't get snow in winter.
I told him there is nowhere in Canada that would fulfill all three conditions at the same time, but the place that comes closest is Vancouver, BC. They don't get much snow in winter, but my friend would have to not mind the rain.
In Canada the food combo would have GST/HST added to it so it would be more than $1.50.
We have a saying in Alberta: If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes. Yes, it can change very quickly, especially during chinook season.
Alberta tends to see BC as pampered and spoiled, due to the fact that they freak out over an inch of snow (granted, it's very dangerous if that snow turns to black ice), and mostly live in a moderate climate. The person who made the meme may have been thinking of women who run farms or ranches; they have to be tough and self-sufficient, and the meme suggests that BC men need things done for them, rather than doing them for themselves.
Sleeping with a fan on... I did that two years ago, during the heat dome when the temperature got over 40C here. That was at ground level. I live several floors higher, with an eastern exposure. The fan was to help me sleep without risking heat exhaustion. I don't use a fan in the winter, though.
The photo of the mountains and lake are not in Saskatchewan. That place is in Alberta. There are a lot of Americans who don't know this. An American state that wanted to promote tourism there lifted a photo of the Canadian Rockies and put it in their ads. We had a good laugh over that - did they really think that Lake Louise, Alberta is in the eastern United States? Or did they just plagiarize the first photo they found and hoped nobody would notice?

The changing car tire joke is that Vancouverites are built different. I grew up in Winnipeg, learned to drive at 12, could change a tire at 14 and navigate by the cardinal points by the time I got my licence (ok, that last one is not common). Partly because if you get stuck anywhere with a flat in most other provinces, you're probably a ways out from any help, so you better know how to do basic roadside stuff.
Another fun regional thing - I drove my car from Winnipeg when I moved to Toronto, and almost everyone I knew who grew up in the GTA asked why there was a plug sticking out from the car's front grill. The rest of you know what that is!
