I have hounded Amazon to crack down on these people as many of these decks were created by personal close friends of mine. Thank you so much for making this and I am tempted to come back to my channel just to make a video on this as well. You are a BLESSING. *edit* The only thing is disagree with on this video is buying one because the real thing is out of print. It is NEVER OK to buy a dupe or counterfeit deck. These counterfeits are HIGHLY ILLEGAL and should not be purchased, but religiously reported to Amazon so that they may be removed and the seller reprimanded. I know it sucks to not be able to afford the real thing for some, because yes, many out of print decks are expensive, but we don't advocate just buying illegal goods simply because we can't afford the real thing. These illegal printers are taking money out of artists' pockets and I hope people understand that these decks are COPYRIGHTED. So purchasing them is not the same as a knock off. It's illegal product.
I appreciate this segment. I have lots of tarot decks. But lately Ive been using my oracle decks. Anyway, i bought an expensive tarot deck from Amazon that ended up being a dude! It's called "Gaia Tarot Deck" This is a black and white deck surrounded by green foliage. Online the deck looked really pretty. But the card stock is really thin didn't have companion book or brochure. Found out later that the"book" was PDF download of a copy Rider Waite! So this info is on time👍 So far ❤ your content very insightful and helpful.

I was a very beginner when I bought the fake deck on wish and it took me almost two months to find the original one. It was through a video (which I found completely by hasard) from her of the deck and it is only available on MPC. But the learning of fake vs original was clear and quick! 😅 Also, I live in Switzerland, so unfortunately, I can garantie you that you don’t want to buy the decks in the local stores because the prizes are VERY abusive (40 instead of 25…) Also, I have read a comment about Etsy: that is true that so many decks are counterfeit but some artists sell there decks only on the platform…
Its a huge deal. It only hurts the community and its so frustrating to see. I'm sorry you are experiencing it. You're art/decks are some of my favorites!
Happened to me with my Reiki oracle deck after finding out it came with no guidebook. I emailed US Games and they told me it was a copycat one. So I decided to keep the copycat one for journaling and added the official one on my wishlist to buy it later.
Ugh, I am so sorry. But, I'm glad you reached out to the company because usually they will do what they can to help you out if it is actually a deck published by them.
This is a good idea to use the deck for journaling. I have one also that I got from a live sale and when I received it there was no guidebook. There was a link for a guidebook download which did not work...

I've seen someone online using a knock off Modern Witch Tarot and I felt so bad because all I could think was "did they know?" Now I just bought the romance tarot (pre-owned) from half price books it was an impulse buy so I didn't get a chance to research on it but I still really like it. I like to buy from my metaphysical store or just the publisher website.
Yeah thats really hard because some people might be oblivious to it but you don't want to disrespect the practitioner. It's always best to buy from reliable sources. ❤️👏

Thanks! This is very helpfull, especially since i always like to buy second hand. I just spotted a knock-off on our kind of Ebay and could definately have fallen for it without your warning. (Although the PDF-guidebook was a red flagg anyway 😖😅) Im pretty sure she’s getting them on Ali and making big bucks.
First off I suspect is a fraud when the price is much lower. But I also look to see if they say it’s a PDF, electronics guidebook. That right away tells you it’s fake. Sometimes though it doesn’t even say that.

Both decks I've illustrated have been counterfeited. That means less income for me and as I get paid via royalties, that's a big deal.
