I lived in Zagreb for 7 years and I love the city. It is by no means a perfect place, but it is a very good place to live in. The economy is good, weather is nice (winters can be foggy and sunless tho), and it is perfectly placed between Slavonija (very nice region of Croatia with great gastronomy), Zagorje region (another Croatian region with very nice hills), Lika (mountains), seaside, and Alps (for this you should go to Slovenia). I live now in a quite richer city but I miss ZG almost every day.
