And some people think the bass guitar is just to fill up holes and give some low end. This makes the bass guitar interesting. And with the keyboard swells in the background (or is that bass also with effects) it has an odd, almost Twin Peaks vibe at times. I'm glad I came across this.
Probably my most fun and challenging band I've ever been in, was when another bassist approached me with a bunch of mathy riffs he'd written. I learned the songs, we recruited other band members, played one show and then disbanded. I did play a few open mics with the other bassist afterwards for fun, just us shredding bass with no one else. I miss those riffs and wish we'd have just found a solid drummer. But hey, I can always try again, and you can always start that band you've always wanted. These guys should be all the inspiration we need
The rise of Bass guitar! After years of opression, 2 bassist and a drummer defiled the wretched ways of the natural order of music!! Rise o great bass! Rise! Coming soon to a theater near you!
Mason Iverson hahaha couldn’t help but lmao at your comment... First time I heard this was a while ago, I guess I didn’t realize there was 2 basses and no guitars. Been jammin to them for a while now. I love it! Too good! Keep it up Omnific!
My son turned me onto this band a year or so ago.have loved them since.just Awesome.im 64 and grew up listening to electric rock n roll and there is nothing else like it out there.❤❤❤ it.
Best song I heard, since quite a while... I liked your sincere approach to music... No matter how much I praise it, here, I am affraid it won't be adequate... It is just unreal...
I love this band and can’t wait to see more bands try this type of lineup. The Omnific are Australian. In Australia 20 years ago in the 90's there was a band with a drummer and 2 bass players called Presto who did very similar style music but only the 3 instruments without any sequencing or tracks on laptop.
I've been in a band for a long time. Every single one of us not guitarists talk about this, because jesus! Guitarists.... Am I right?? Except these guys had the balls to do it. Probably the happiest band in the entire world, because there's no guitarist. Btw, @theomnificband AMAZING!
I was planning to watch and enjoy regardless, but I saw that Simon Grove is part of this and decided y’all are even more awesome for making such bass such a more visible and appreciated instrument within this prog, instrumental scene. Great job as always. Edit: the drummer slays also! Sorry I forgot you. Hahaha
Some really great stuff, this has bee stuck in my head for months and has made me consider picking the bass back up to try and play along. Seriously, keep it up, and MORE FEATURES!!!!!!!
Nice. Precise and well-coordinated playing. Might not seem a big (certainly not the flashiest) thing, but, technique-wise, I was struck by the super-even 16th notes... that, and this makes me actually want to practice two-hand tapping.
2:30-2:34 10/10 👍🏻 it’s been 7yrs and still coming back to this epic sound
rhythm: bass
lead: bass
bass: BaSs????
drums:

Percussion? You better believe that's a bass
I think these guys took it to heart when people kept asking "why don't you just play bass?" in response to seeing their 8 string guitars.
huh?
@@richarddixon4359 "Huh" what?
huh?
As a bassist, this is like a dream! I'd like to have a line-up like this one, but where I live finding another bass player seems impossibile
Ik these two bassists probably have insane musical chemistry given that they are both playing the same instrument.
And some people think the bass guitar is just to fill up holes and give some low end. This makes the bass guitar interesting. And with the keyboard swells in the background (or is that bass also with effects) it has an odd, almost Twin Peaks vibe at times. I'm glad I came across this.
This is the band I wanted to create 35 years ago
I told people I wanted three bass players and drums 40 years ago,, they laughed at me,, these guys are awesome!!

The drummer kills it..
Yes! He's a beast.
I really dig it guys. So stoked that you got together with Simon on this one!
I came, I listened, I binged, I subbed. Loved it all. Thanks, gentlemen. I know that location. Even hung out inside the bridge.
Hold up is this an actual band with two bass players ? This is awesome .
black diamond I know right? 🙌🙌
You know, after a band with two guitars and NO bass (Animals As Leaders), there just HAD TO be one.
I play bass and like Animals As Leaders a lot more, tbh.
there also is extinction level event. three basses, no guitar; more meshuggah-ish
now we need a band with two drummers
Very nice, djents!! Also, the MM Bongo is one of my favorite bass tones but I can't bring myself to buy one because it looks like a toilet seat.
I've wanted a MM Bongo half my life, and I think you just ruined it for me. I can't un-see the toilet seat...
Shit, sorry. Eh just go with it. Get a white one with a yellow pickguard and brown pickups
LOL
No chills mahn! LOL
Hahaha, you sir made my day !

No matter what happens in my life this song seems to always bring me back. Such a masterpiece. True perfection.
The one dislike is a guitarist hahaha

super job guys............waiting for more like this................
What's better than a band with 2 bassist is inviting another bassist to jam. 🤣 👌🏽🤘🏽🤙🏼
That tone is so relaxing, my mind feel so good. Nice job!
Ps: Guys, share your rigs and setups.
Pps: Simon's bass is a piece of art.

Killer! I love this song and the video did it justice! The drums go so well with your bass playing!
spacious soundscapes
Awesome addition of the "double bass" beat. It's good to hear it in something other than death metal with growling vocals.
Jimmy Rude There's plenty of other genres besides Death Metal that utilize double bass patterns. Nothing quite like this though.
A lot of fusion uses double bass listen to Dennis chambers or Sean rickman they use it a lot
leadabass, rhythmabass, vokalabass.... круто.
Melody! those are getting rare nowaday hehe
