Love it. I have an identical bike and love it for the same reasons. The combination of the engine, suspension and comfort is impossible to beat. Enjoy!
Very helpful video. Thanks for taking the time to make and post! One thing you need to carry with you is a CR2032 Battery for the Key Fob. If the battery goes dead (there will be a low warning on the screen) you will not be able to start the bike.
@@GhostRider-69 Great!!! However after my reply, I forgot about the emergency key and start up under the seat procedure. Nice to have the spare battery too.
Hey Peter, Greg here. We met at the dealer the day you test rode that bike. Nice walk around. I have the Nav VI and it’s been perfect, but I need that Zumo XT with larger screen and the interface I am used to. I also need that epoxy floor - nice garage!
Hi Greg - Thanks for watching the video. Great to be able to sync up with you again. If you do decided on the Zumo XT, let me know. I can share tips from the installation. Would be great to get together on a ride. Thanks
Hello there. I ride and vlog aboard my 2018 dct tour airbag and have owned 2 R1200 GSA's in the past, that said you will find that GSA there to be every bit the road bike and tourer that the Goldwing is. I have a prediction that your garage won't have room for the both of them. Congrats on the GSA they are great motorcycles.
G BeWinginit - Thanks for that message. I have been thinking the same thing, about how long to keep both bikes. I need to ride the GSA more, as of now, and to me, the Win is more comfortable and smoother than the GSA. The Wing is also more sport-touring oriented. However, if I want to do any off road (pavement) riding, I am sure the GSA will be the choice. Only time will tell. Thanks again.
Riding for 52 years, since I was 12. I have a GSA. Please let me offer some positive advice. Get yourself something like a Honda 300 Rally, it will be a lot cheaper.
Thanks for the advice Howard. I might go in the direction of a light weight trail bike for my next ride. See a lot of videos on smaller trail bikes and they look like so much fun. Plus Honda reliability is excellent. I still enjoy my Gen 6 Honda GoldWing. :-)
Hey Peter, Good luck with your channel! I'm considering trading my 2019 GS for a 2024 GSA! I still have my 2017 Wing and will probably keep it, for now!

Micael- Good question. I am not sure if the SOS option is offered in the US. I agree with you that is is a very good option to have on the bike in case of emergency. My bike was a floor model at the local BMW dealership so I did not get a chance to spec out the bike myself and see if SOS was an option.
Great video. I have the same bike on order and should be getting it early next month. One question, what were the problems with the OEM Navigation that BMW sells? Thank you for your response.
I have the same bike on order also, GSA TRIPLE BLACK. The problem with the BMW GARMIN is that for the last 4 years or so, there has been a Ghosting problem. That means the screen will change as touched by a Ghost. I called Garmin and asked them about this and she told me that a permanent fix will be done in a few months. Also she had told me that if I purchase with the bike, I will have a 3 year warranty, if purchased by itself, then 1 year warranty. However with the Ghosting problem, they will warranty it and will replace with the updated one when it comes out. I am going to add it to the bike purchase because of her statement and because when working they are GREAT! You can also call Garmin 1800 number and talk with them to help with your decision.
@@ericjames7680 awesome. That makes me feel a little better. I have owned several Garmins in the past and do not remember any issues such a Ghosting. Thanks for your response.
Before I purchased the Garmin Zumo XT, I did some research on the BMW Motorad Navigator IV. What I discovered was the BMW Motorad Navigator IV is really an OEM Garmin that has integration with the BMW Navigation wheel on the left handlebar. Although this was great. There are many people on the internet (BMW Blogs, RUclips Videos) that are complaining about issues with the BMW Motorad Navigator IV There are lots of complaints about the BMW Motorad Navigator IV with Display Issues (called Ghost Screen). This issue makes the BMW Motorad Navigator IV impossible to use. My understanding is that BMW is aware of this issue and not correcting it as of yet. BMW doses replace the BMW Motorad Navigator IV unit, but the issue still occurs because it is a manufacture warranty. I am told that BMW will come out with a new version BMW Motorad Navigator IV that does not have this issue but when I purchased my Bike the new version of the BMW Motorad Navigator IV was not available. Also, the BMW Motorad Navigator IV is expensive and brand-new costs about $1000 USD. BMW also offers The ConnectedRide Cradle serves as a holder for a smartphone so that the unit can be charged and used as a navigation device during the trip. The BMW Motorrad Connected app can be used to access the navigation map and vehicle data in the field of view via the multi-Controller. There are some Pros/Cons with using Smart Phone for navigation especially in areas where there are no Cellular signals (i.e remote off-road areas). The Connected Ride Cradle costs $260 USD. During my research, I found the Garmin Zumo XT was the best Navigator unit for Motorcycling. There are so many features that the Garmin Zumo XT has that are strictly made for Motorcycling. Just Look on RUclips and you will see tons of positive reviews. Plus, it is waterproof, has a touch screen that works while wearing Gloves and can easily be connected to your motorcycle Power Switch, so it automatically powers on/Off with the Bike. The Garmin Zumo XT was half the price as the BMW Motorad Navigator IV. You can purchase a new one for just under $500.00 USD. One drawback to the Garmin Zumo XT is that the Connected Drive (Nav Wheel) does not work). You have to use touch Screen. Just check out RUclips and BMW Blogs there is a lot of information to help us riders make the best decision for ourselves.
