  • I was feeling the need to jam over Gmaj7 and Cmaj7 today but I couldn't really find backing track that I was digging...so I decided to make one and upload it here for anyone else :-)

Thanks for making this available. I am taking a songwriting class online , but my guitar skills are rusty, so I am going to try something with your backing track.

What else can be added to this progression? I mean I like it but I kinda want it to go somewhere else , if anybody has an idea I would appreciate it , thanks.

Gmaj7 to Cmaj7 is the I and IV of a G major. So there's 5 other chords you could play with! Am7, Bm7, D7, Em7 and F#m7b5. Hope this helps!

most pop music these days never use this chord progression, you only hear this in 1970s 1980s and 1990s music

Indeed, Bruno Mars & Lady Gaga just put out a killer track using them which is cool :)
