- This is the JR Central Limited Express Shinano arriving at Nagoya Station and departing for Nagano.
The first five minutes of the journey are filmed from the Green Car facing the driver's compartment (cab).
You'll clearly see and HEAR the driver.
Before the departure, she was taking pictures with her and the train, she was very happy, so I think this was her first assignment, at least on the Shinano.

I love JR Central Series 383 so cool and in the most pendulum electric train car. By the way I love JR Central because train crew uniforms are cool and nice! Finally female Train crew is cool and pointing and calling of her voices are very pretty!

女性運転士は神領運輸区ｶﾐﾔﾏさんみたいだけど、おそらく加美山という字だよ。かわいいけど2010年頃は名古屋運輸区で車掌だったから30代ぐらいだと思うよ。

I'm sure there are, but they're very rare, and I guess mostly used for freights
What seat where you filming from in the cab? Was it the window seat, or the aisle seat?
it was in the green car, first row on the right, isle seat
what does she keep pointing at?
What is the reason behind pointing something with her fingers? I've seen JP Bus drivers do the same but for what reason? Is there's some kind of safety system that requires from the drivers to perform certain movements with their arms or otherwise the vehicle will stop?
This point and calling is called shisa kanko, you can look it up. It's basically done to make sure they don't miss important signals and warnings. I found it very useful myself. You know you always forget if you've locked your car after you parked. But if you point at it as you're locking it, then you'll remember you've done so. The train will not stop if they don't do it, but it's just the way they operate.

Indeed! From the first row of the Green Car you have a beautiful view, when going from Nagoya to Nagano. It's one of my favorite trains.
