Thank you so much for the close ups of Hopper! The DCA Hopper was one of the most impressive animatronics of it's time, and still holds up extremely well. The WDW version is also amazing, but the DCA Hopper had more exaggerated movements and expressions. (If anyone interested in the differences, pay special attention to when he says "biggest enemy" in each version of the show, that's where it's most obvious.) It's such a shame that this version of the animatronic isn't around anymore. I'm so glad this footage is here though!
Martin, this is excellent. My fathers company made some fiberglass parts for this ride (including the "it's tough to be a bug" sign, which show and ride division painted and installed on site) And i was very sad to see it make way for marvel land Thank you for resurrecting it back from the dead.
This was the first role/attraction I worked as a Cast Member... I'm sorry to see it gone. The REST of Bugs Land? Meh... thanks for doing such a great job! I used to love when the "grubs and maggots" would scurry to exit, RIGHT.UNDER.YOUR.BUTT! LOL!I've seen huge "Biker Dudes" jump up and scream like teenaged girls! It never got old.
This will always be one of my favorite attractions. Thankfully Animal Kingdom still has theirs. The last two times I went to California Adventure, this attraction was closed to show a commercial for the next Disney movie to hit theaters, so it's been so long since I've been able to enjoy this!!
It’s too bad a bug’s land is closed The first and only time I saw it’s tough to be a bug was my first time I went to Disneyland it was so terrifying we had to get out of there
12:46 I think we’ll agree here that even though the Hopper scene was the scary part of this accretion, this part of it when the spiders come was a nightmare for people who has arachnophobia (no offense for anyone who has that)…
I wish they could of had 2 seasonal show changes for A Bug's Life theater and the Tree of Life theater, besides watching it's tough to be a bug. One thing for sure it's tough to be a bug is a really good show, but little kids who experienced it suffer a heart attack during the show and afterwards they never want to see the show again. So to solve this problem they need to have this show to be shown once a year, as a seasonal overlay. With two new seasonal overlay shows to take over once a year as well. In other words they need to have it's tough to be a bug scheduled for its performance from February to May, a second seasonal overlay show with a Circus theme atmosphere from June to October. And of course a Christmas Bug's Life show for the Christmas season, from November to January. These ideas should be done but for the Tree of Life Theatre only, now that there's no more A Bug's Life theater at Disney California Adventure. Disney and Pixar should get together again and create two more Bug's Life shows, as seasonal overlays for the Tree of Life theater. So the guests can watch two more shows in the Tree of Life Theatre when they go back to Disney's Animal Kingdom, rather than just watching and experiencing it's tough to be a bug. For the second seasonal overlay show, like I said they should make it a circus atmosphere 3D or 40 show, featuring the circus bugs and it should be a good idea to add princess Dot to the show as well. And of course during the Christmas season A Bug's Life 3D or 4D show should be included for the Christmas season. 3 seasonal overlay 3D or 4D shows needs to keep the Tree of Life theater going, without losing its popularity because of one show it's tough to be a bug
I was 6 when I saw this but luckily, I didn't get to see the whole show because it was too scary. I'm glad its closed now like with Stich's great escape.
as someone who grew up with the AK version i remember hearing A LOT of loud blasting sounds from the special fx, are those effects absent from this version or did you just edit them out
I know people disliked this land, but the vibe and atmosphere was great. Especially at night. Plenty of shade. I miss it

@@TheParkitectI'm almost 16 and I still love kids lands. I certainly miss this one!

Wow! That's really cool!
Wasn’t Hopper at one time considered the most advanced AA ever built? I mean like 15 years ago?

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this video
I hate ITTBAG cause it traumatized me as a kid but now as an adult I love going to that attraction and hear terror screams from kids and some adults.
LOL 😑

Same here. Went there when I was 6 and genuinely thought we were all going to die when the “bug spray” came out, as if the place was a gas chamber.
Neat!! Fantastic video!! The entry and exit are the reverse of the Animal Kingdom's version.
Besides Mickey's Fun Wheel, this is ironically the scariest ride in the park
I don't see how it's *"ironic."* LOL
@@leonjones2565 I think the three scariest rides in Animal Kingdom are It's Tough To Be a Bug, DINOSAUR!, and Expedition Everest

Go to Animal Kingdom. It is still there. But do it fast. Because there are rumors that it will be changed over there too

15:02 i wonder what happens here; maybe the floor creates bumps that run through your feet to simulate the bugs from the show leaving the theater
The seats had bumps in them that made it seem like they were crawling underneath your bottom
oh, ok
I love it’s tough to be a bug🪳🦟🐞🐝🐜🦗🦂🕸️🕷️🪰🐛

K**** was never involved with this show, it was always Andrew Stanton.
Josh Freilich Which is why I said “replacement”.

Tough? It's a piece of cake🎂.
I wish Kevin Spacey actually voiced Hopper in this.

9:58 is that p.t. Flea
Who else thinks Chick Hicks from Cars and Cars 3 was there instead of the flea?
I like to see Flik and Hopper compete to each other to think if Humans are nice to bugs or if Humans are dangerous to bugs.
Since this show will also retire in Animal Kingdom soon, would Martin make a video from the Tree Of Life?
