I’ve truly debated getting a FDM printer for those bigger bases to save on resin but I hate learning new things, as u know, but I found this very deep and clear. Like it def makes me feel less overwhelmed by the idea of getting a FDM printer. One day… lol😂
It is definitely more involved than resin printing. However, the technology has improved a lot over the past few years. We have printers now that are nearly setup free. But yeah, my goal is always to empower people to get into this hobby so I'm glad to hear I hit that mark with this one. 😊

While I am still quite new tot he 3D printing world I have myself pasted these steps, BUT I wish I had this video a month+ ago when I started. Great video, and sorry I did not find it earlier lol.
I was advised that a resin printer would be more effective for detailing than a filament but this print looks fine for what I’m trying to produce. Opinion?
I started with FDM/filament printers. I specifically got a 3D printer so I could print minis for D&D. I have always been pleased with the level of detail I can achieve with an FDM printer. I've also never heard any complaints from my players. I think it really comes down to preference but I do think FDM minis are fine for my table. All that being said, resin minis will always have better details. However, resin printing is more expensive and requires much more safety considerations and equipment. And that equipment adds to the startup cost of resin 3D printing. Is the higher detail worth all that? That's for each person to decide. If you want any specific info or want more detailed pictures please let me know.
@@SlicePrintRoleplay How tall/wide could I realistically get with the Neptune 3? I have a project that would require dimensions similar to a small end action figure. I appreciate your input thus far!
@@ParrisFrance23 you are very welcome. The Neptune 3 Pro, and the updated version called the Neptune 4/4 Pro, can print about 9 inches on the X/Y (meaning side to side and front to back) and 10 inches on the Z (meaning tall).
Oh look! CONTENT!!! i suppose i had better watch this a few dozen times on loop... ... do t forget he has a patrion, facebook page and discrod server. I strongly suggest you join them all! ... ok Now will you print some of my cults models? (He knows I'm kidding... or am I?)
