Uhm, just asking about what combo of these GTR shocks will fit on a bandit. I mean do i need the extra Long in the back and only longs in the front? I hope you understand, some GTR shocks could look good on the bandit Vxl.
@@DaedalEVE hello. I am new to rc. Have bought me a Arrma Granite 4x4 3s BLX BL Monster Truck RTR. And i have bought aliminum shocks from big gore for granite. But i feel the Springs on the shock is stiffer. Is that something wrong with them or should they be like that? Sry bad english!
That's why I am going to upgrade to GTR, they are stronger and I can get different colors, plus they look cooler too, and they are cheaper than the proline shocks (Which I still wish I could know how good they handled)
I run a stampede 4x4vxl with a Hobbywing Max10 4000kv in it with a 3 cell lipo, and I can tear up the track and the dirt at the same time. (I still am looking for new shocks, since mine are really old, like 8 years old)
Both are a huge upgrade from the stock ultra shocks. The shock caps no longer pop of on either shock (at least from our experience) and the shock shafts also no longer bend on either shock. The gtrs have threaded shock bodies (no more pesky shock spacers). Either shock is worth the money, however spend the little more to get the gtrs. Hopefully this helps.
We recommend the Traxxas GTR shocks over the Big Bores because of the better design. They are easier to tune, because of the threaded body and are overall a lot beefy and bigger than the Big Bore.
Jon Ragan $108 for what? I paid $25 for xo1 shocks from $hobby then i brought the rear gtr xx shock bodies and shock shafts. I cut the stops from the front two shocks and installed them. Then i got vg racing springs $16 from vg racing website. Ok then i installed them lol. $65 tops but i don't think even that.
My build got. GTR xx shocks with 45wt oil and VG racing hd springs. I don't think it can get any better it hardly ever falls over but is 3s always 19/54 2700kv. My kid just got a new truck with big bores fitted and i think they look poor tbh. Using clips and super soft springs. My only hope is they get a good price if i sell them to someone who appreciates them lol. Bcos i dont. Im looking at anodised china shocks lol. Gtr looking but probably a true poor show lol.
I just upgraded from big bores to ProLine PowerStroke shocks for the Slash 4x4 and I’m now a believer that they are the best money can buy as they’ve completely changed how my Slash feels and drives. I drop my Slash from 6 feet with no bounce and no bottom out. The $100 price tag is steep but damn for what you get it’s worth it.
@@AM-wi6zo hey. Should the Springs on aluminium shocks be stiffer then the orginal shocks? I have a New granite and i feel they are less stiff. Should it be like that? They feel much better on others thing. Thanks
You know you could've used the stock springs with those big bore shocks. You just need to use the ultra shock cups, spacers and spring retainers. The springs the big bores come with are just a little bit stiffer then what comes with the Slash 2wd.
I bent my big bores almost as easy as the stock shocks BIGGEST waste of $60! But again it was least 10 years ago when i bought them and to my knowledge the GTRs werent even out yet or i would've definitely gotten them instead!
They’re the same amount of travel, big advantage with the GTR’s is larger diameter shaft, body that is both larger diameter and threaded, plus pivot balls in the caps.
gotta say man clean your trucks, its a largley ignored part of rc ownership if you leave parts wet they can get saturated and if you leave dirt in or on your car it can cause mechanical issues
Absolutely, I'm a noob and just got my 1st lesson lately rebuilding my 2wd Slash vxl motor after one of my bearings disintegrated tweaked and mashing the spur...Thought i was doing good maintenance. Ima up my after run inspection game for sure!
If you need that much preload (on the big bore), then you really need stiffer springs.
He's running the crappy stock springs that comes with the big bores. The springs that come standard on the Slash 4x4 are of much better quality.
@@Shadows-RC Traxxas sells stiffer springs lol.

Another good thing about the Gtr's is that they can hold 70% more oil than standard ultra shocks.
What tires do you have I bought some Badlands and there bigger, they are still good but I think ilike the look of the smaller/stock tire size.
Pro line trenchers 2.2 short course
I have stock shocks and they have been doing fine! i have been doing major bashing and drifting. they are fine!
You don't know what you're missing
Nice comparison 👍, what part number are your gtrs 7461x/7462x? Do they fit the 4x4 HCG?, Thanks
they should
that would hadle like complete crap.... why even change the shock if ya gonna run so much preload???? do u know what they are for?
I do not believe he does.

@@tittentei7331 They could be stiffer, which is probably fine unless it’s much, much stiffer, which could work against you.
so how much better than the stock shocks are they?

thanks, always good to hear from someone with more experience
Great comparison, thank you!
Nice comparison man👍
Thank you
Am using big bor shock on mine just got mine jump mine alot
What gearing are you running?
yeah nice job which should i get if i get a slash 4x4

Jaysus they better wipe my ass for 108$

We have a hard runner here, boys!
Are you doing a lot of jumps? Does this setup help with that? That's some heavy oil and a lot of preload. Just trying to understsnd
dasllamas when you jump much you defenetly need steel drive-shafts

what tires are those ?
pro line trenchers
2.2 short course edition
My big bores are a joke. I’m thinking of going power stroke shocks or finding something better.
Pro lines are the best shocks you can buy. Been bashing for 2 years and they still look brand new.

Do you work for Warner Bros as Daffy Duck
Sameul Jones that’s Warner bros lol

I just got my hoss why do I want to upgrade it
It’s the nature of the hobby😁
That said, go with the GTR shocks, I think they’d be the better options
Not giving your shocks a lot of room to do their job, you padded them down so far with the preload clips. You are only using like 50% of their ability
Is this guy Brian from the film the breakfast club?
sounds like a younger nate diaz lol
Lol
u need to clean ur rc cars
They're just gonna get dirty again
no
No way. I just bought a slash specifically to have a bashed i never clean! lol
which one has more travel?
Any really change ypur oil out to 20 or 15

Have to really appreciate a guy who treats his rc cars like that and doesn't clean them...🤦
