Tengo entendido que en 1974 le ofrecieron la corona a Ella Cecilia Escandón tras la renuncia de Amparo Muñoz, porque Gales no fue tomada en cuenta por ganar Miss Mundo y ser madre, Finlandia tenía contrato con Miss Internacional, pero Ella Cecilia rechazó para así poder casarse
Its interesting to note that in the early days Colombia placed so many times, with 6 placements in both the 60s and 70s. However its noticeable that none of their 60s placements went beyond the semifinalist with them making the top 5 for the first time since 1958 in 1974. Also has anybody else ever noticed that from the 70s to the 80s everytime Colombia made the top 5 they were called last?
Stella Marquez married a.Filipino and become Miss International too and also chairperson of Miss Universe Philippines from the 60s til 2019,she lives in the Philippines up until now

Lets be real Colombia 🇨🇴🇨🇴 and other South American countries such as Peru, Argentina, Chile and Brazil deserved to win more at least 1-2 title crowns as for many years these nations have sent a lot of amazing and good looking women in many beauty competitions yet I felt they have been unnoticed because of Venezuela hope this will change positively in the future. ❤😊
