  • This quick video shows the state of Mattel Adventure Park, which is scheduled to open in 2024. The blue-tracked coaster, named Hot Wheels Boneshaker: The Ultimate Ride, looks to have all of its track work completed. The orange-tracked coaster, named Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer, is starting to show signs of vertical construction happening soon. This video was recorded on December 1st, 2023. Special thanks to Dan Withers for driving me to this location to see it for myself.

    Loved hot wheels as a kid, great theme for coasters! 🔥

      I started getting into coasters when I would design layouts for my matchbox cars. I was still terrified to ride actual coasters but I always wanted to ride in a hot wheels car on a coaster track. Now that will happen.

    Will be cool to have this when I visit relatives in AZ!

      I told my family that I will always visit when I am in the Phoenix area but I will sneak away to ride the two new coasters at this park. There is another credit that I haven't ridden, at a zoo or something, but I haven't had time to get that one. I haven't been to Castle's N Coasters for many years but have ridden those unique coasters.

    As an Arizona local, I’m excited for this new park (at least for the coasters)!

      The whole area looks like it will be incredible. I am sure I will visit the park next time I am in Arizona.

    Thank you Sean for an HD update! As an Arizonian I’m glad this project is still going on and it seems like there’s no stopping which is good! Can’t wait for the coasters especially but the whole park should be cool!

      You are welcome! There was a lot of activity happening on the site when I was there. I am sure the park will be open by the next time I am in the area.

    I'm so excited to see the progress they've made. The coaster was sitting for a while, you could see it from the 101 and they kept pushing back the opening date. I'm hoping it does open this year! Thank you for the update!

      My other lives just a mile or so from the park. I remember her calling me and saying "I swear it looks like a coaster is being built down the street from me." I did't know much about the project then and just thought she might have been seeing something else that looked like a coaster. Nope. She was right. Lol

    Kind of insane that, despite being both the 5th biggest city in America, and one of the fastest growing cities too, that Phoenix lacked a major amusement park till now. I mean I get why (the heat), but I feel they’re way overdue for a major amusement park.

      Agreed. It's a hot place but they are long overdue. I wonder what the opening will do to Castle's N Coasters, if anything. I plan on hitting up the new coasters at Mattel next time I am in town.

    Looks good! That support structure for the double helix is interesting, but I like it.

      It's almost overkill but it does look interesting. That coaster looks to be. a very short ride but I bet families will really like it.

    Several pieces of the track are still in Wichita, KS at Chance Rides, for the Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer.

      I was hoping there was some more track out there. At first, I thought the new coaster was going to be very short.

    Wow. Sadly, that Twin Mill Racer track has been sitting there on the ground since April (according to rcdb). This seems like an odd pairing to the very luxurious and adult VIA Resort.

    • @SeanFlaharty
      @SeanFlaharty  10 месяцев назад

      Wow. I wasn't aware the track had been sitting there for so long. The whole area is massive. I was told that the stage they are building will allow guests in their rooms to watch the concerts from their balconies. That's pretty cool. My mother lives about a mile from the site so I doubt I ever stay at the hotel but I am sure it will be an incredible place to stay.

      @@SeanFlaharty I did a little research on the resort. You’re right the amphitheater facing the hotel balconies looks pretty cool. It seems to be pretty upscale and adult. I’m sort of surprised by the pairing with a seemingly family oriented theme park. I think if you look up the VIA Resort online they have a webcam of the project site ( though I can’t seem to find it on the phone)

      Thank you ! For this video I used my Sony A7S3. It's a fairly new camera to me so I am still learning some of its features. It's a beast when it comes to shooting 4K HDR video.

    It’s insane to think this park is supposed to open soon and the second coaster still isn’t done yet

      I was thinking the same thing when I was recording this. My guess is it will be early 2025 before everything is done. Maybe some preview stuff before the end of the year. I have seen some crazier stuff happen in regards to openings of parks and rides. Who knows at this point? Ha ha. Regardless, I am sure I will return to Phoenix once the park is open.

    I hope the park fails I am mad at mattel for ruining my childhood and that is Thomas the TANK ENGINE that screwed him with that nightmarish reboot

      @SeanFlaharty  8 месяцев назад

      Having never seen an episode of Thomas The Tank Engine, I can't share the same views as yourself. However, I do hope the park does well as that means the possibility of expansion and new attractions in the future. The next time I am in Arizona, the park should be open by then. I am looking forward to checking it out.
