Fun fact. The purple jacket he is wearing, is the jacket of 80s icon Kim Schumacher, who was huge in Denmark in the 80s. Also, this is the first time in decades that a Eurovision song reached the top of the charts.. Even "Only Teardrops" didn't reach number 1 until after it won Eurovision..
I could listen Denmark's song all day long, love it SO much ❤. It's easily one of my favourite songs this year. And I'll do the best I can for them to qualify, they deserve it!

funny fact jesper the lead singer is allso 1 of the head actors in a danish tc show called sygeplejskeskolen , nurses school , it is about the first male nurses in denmark . and my mums uncle was 1 of the first nurses

The duo Fyr & Flamme does not translate to Fire and Flame. Fyr doesn’t really translate to english. So its basically something that created a flame. And flamme is flame.
"Fyr og flamme" is a danish phrase meaning "all fired up" (being really excited about something).
Not really, but i know what you mean. 'Fyr og flamme' is 'fire and flame'. Then you can say 'He was fire and flame' wich could mean that someone is fired up.
I was actually thinking that Fyr is the guy and Flamme is the girl - as the song is about to people on the dancefloor having their time of life :-)

"Fyr og Flamme" translates directly into the words "Ignite and flame"... but it's also a danish saying for being madly in love with someone... :)
"Fyr" also translates directly into "lighthouse" and "stud" aswell... ;)
"Flamme" is also (old) danish slang for a girl/boy someone dates. If you are someones "flamme", you are someone he/she dates. :)

I'm Danish...You're right. "Fyr og Flamme" means "fire and flame!!" ... (We have 1/3 of the words English does, so all words have countless meanings. So if you translate it and get/want it to mean anything else.. You're not wrong, per se. However "fyr og flamme" is definitely 'fire and flame!')

@@kongjohansen For sure. The saying also means that, and there's def a play on words. Besides what you wrote, the saying also means to be hooked on. Excited. Hopeful., Determined. Anticipating etc. etc. And to the individual words, there's countless meanings to it too, . Like: fyr also means lighthouse, woodburning oven, dude, boyfriend, nutered male cat, etc. . And flamme also means crush, ex, first love, passion, burning, bright red light, enthusiam, getting angry, making a bold statement etc.. Each word has countless meanings. And the saying equal many.. You're right there's a play on words and it def also means "to be fired up". But there's countless meanings to the saying and lit. translated, it is fire and flame.

Azerbaijan is great ngl but you can tell she tried her best to recreate Cleopatra because that was fire. Sadly it is not better than Cleopatra but I would still give it a 4 out of 5

Denmark is such a grower to me. At first I thought, it's so cheesy, so schlager, I have to hate it, but....I kinda like it. It has become a guilty pleasure of mine ^^
Azerbaijan on the other hand....It's not as good as Cleopatra, but still a 4/5, I guess
Azerbaijan 2/5 . It just feels a bit too constructed and I don't get why she sings about Mata Hari. The cleopatra theme was a bit more developed last year but now it seems her genre is pop songs about female historic figures and that's just weird and inauthentic. It sounds great don't get me wrong but I can't connect with it.

You're not supposed to translate the lyrics. If Fyr og Flamme wanted to sing in English, they would have. But they didn't, and your translation will never "cut the mustard"

As a Dane I don't think we stand a chance of qualifying for the Final, Our songs, as whole, this year, was simply too bad. The Chance Fyr & Flamme have, is that, the Half og the Semi they are in, there are a loooot of Ballads, and this is the only real uptempo song. Also to keep it in Danish, will probably backfire.
