  • Small businesses should be spared from some of the proposed changes to employment rights, the Conservatives have suggested, as Whitehall’s own analysis of the legislation shows it could cost firms almost £5 billion annually.
Shadow business secretary Kevin Hollinrake argued the Employment Rights Bill would create “an existential crisis of a magnitude not seen since the pandemic” for smaller companies.
It comes after economic analysis of the Bill published by the Department for Business and Trade showed it is expected to “impose a direct cost on businesses of low billion pounds per year (i.e less than £5 billion annually)”.
Mike says: "Businesses are getting very worried about this."

The fact Starmer's Business Secretary has never run a business is just a reflection of the current Labour Party...... They haven't got a clue.

I am all for workers rights in sensible chunks, (being a worker before retirement), but not the ones put forward by the ever deluded Rayner (how the hell did she ever get to be deputy leader of any party). These new rules will see employees taking advantage of them, and eventually there will not be any organisations for people to work for! It is not rocket science lots of small business will close down. How can that be moving the country forward?

Kids who are perfectly capable of being toilet trained, toothbrush trained, can dress and undress themselves etc should be taught by their parents the teachers are not nannies they are teachers it is not up to them to bring the kids up and show them these things, those parents who send kids to school in nappies at the age of 4 to 5 when there is no reason for it physically or mentally, are pure lazy, only kids who have issues should be the exception.
