Utah is so beautiful Glenn and Amy. I'm so happy I can look forward to these beautiful videos every Thursday evening. This one was awesome with the ghost town and the landscape. Thank you both and Slim too. Enjoy hearing from Slim every once in a while.
Always appreciate and love when a new Catcus Atlas video drops. They’re comfort vlogs! Please don’t stop doing what you do best Glenn!! Thank you for all the hard efforts in making these adventures every week Glenn, Amy, and Slim! Hahaha
Right before you mentioned the cuts in the wood I was just typing about how cool it is to see the lumber with the rough axe marks in it. Great minds think alike. Every time I go there, that small detail really connects me to those people. You can see the human behind it, just some guy putting in the work. I've never associated the names in the cemetery to the people in the town until you mentioned it. I haven't experienced that in many ghost towns; the ability to connect multiple people to multiple locations, with their homes and gravesites both surviving the elements for so long.
I was just thinking to myself I sure would like to hear more of Slim. He’s funny. And that was an unexpected time to hear from him. Thanks for taking us along. Blessings
Love this area. Never tire of seeing it. Hi Amy. Please thank Glen n Slim for the info . On to the next adventure. Thanks for letting me tag along too.
Gooseberry Mesa is a popular spot for mountain biking and hiking. It’s actually amazing and the views from the cliffs weren’t too far from that empty lot where you parked. Amazing views on both the north and south side! Come back and do it.
I did enjoy it, esp. since we were also just there in May, but missed the Grafton area. Thanks for telling the history. We got a lesson from an LDS Sister at another pioneer house, and it was a little different lesson. I was interested to learn from her that the Mormon settlers had to teach the Native Americans how to live more comfortably on their own land.
I looked through our older footage and indeed there was one in that same year. Red adobe looking that allowed one to look through the right middle window into the building and some information signs. Can't help but wonder what happened to those signs. 🫤
Check out the Blackhawk War 1865-1872. The Berry Family that is buried at Grafton Cemetery were killed by Indians because of events happening at that time. Possibly connected, but not because of water rights being stolen at Pipe Springs.
You can take a the Kolob Terrace Road to the north out of the town of Virgin. There is access to Zion park via backpacking/hiking and also The Subway off of that road. By the way the way you are pronouncing "Zion" just lets the local know that you ain't from those parts. Just sayin.
I assume you mean not Utah native than foreign? We're aware of how it is pronounced in Utah, tried it for a while, but it ust didn't feel natural. 🤷♀️

Thank you! We're certainly doing our best to keep things going. 😊
The first Slim voiceover might be one of the funniest moments on this channel.
Probably pretty unexpected, huh? 😂

Same! It often seems when we're researching that notable figures end up buried in other states, not the same town cemetery they are associated with.
thx for the great and interesting video !👍🏻💪🏻
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching! 😄
@@CactusAtlas cheers from Germany ! 🍻🍻

He likes to keep people on their toes and pop out when least expected. 😂

I can see why! Hopefully we'll get an opportunity to return and check it out. Sounds awesome! 👍
So beautiful. Thank you Glen & Amy for sharing our beautiful world. And helping us to build our itineraries for travel💜💕
Our pleasure! We're so happy to help. 😊
Funny, I'm currently having a light lunch which also includes hummus! Thanks for taking me on lunchtime adventures Glenn!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Your videos give “This Old House” vibes - very nostalgic comfy-listening
That's such a nice thing to hear. I fondly remember the show on TV when younger. 😄
We stopped by Grafton in May. Very cool experience.
Pretty cool little town! Not too often that one gets to explore inside buildings like that. 😄
Just loved this video history ones are my favourite but I do love them all thanks Amy and Glenn and a special thanks to slim so funny 😜
Haha! Thanks. Gotta get a little creative with the technical difficulties. Anything goes wrong? Just blame Slim. 😂
Glen just keep doing what you're doing it's great we love it 👍
Always fun.😊
Very nice episode Glenn. The crowds scare me. I haven’t been there in 40 years.
Oh, yeah. Crowds can certainly be a good time killer.

Interesting. Would be interesting to go back in time and hear from both sides about those days.
I think Glen is right. When we visited in 2021, I remember there being some sort of platform and being able to look in the church windows too!

Great trip! What navigation app do you prefer?
We tend to use a combination of Google Maps and OnX Offroads. 👍

We're aware. Had a lot of feedback on that topic when we released our first Zion videos. 😅
@@christopherl.albers3842 “the locals” are wrong as well. They often refer to it as “Zions”.
The way foreign people say Zion It makes me laugh
