I took part in operation Barbarossa as legionary Romania in HOI4. Took Stalingrad and Moscow. Germany proceeds to take most of Russia while I only get small parts of southern Russia. Kms fix this shit
HOI 4 is super simple to HOI 3, you want a challenge and do some actual thinking, stick with Hoi 3 ;) AS for advice on Russia, attack as soon as ready, have historical make, mostly tanks on south, combination of tanks and inf at center and mostly inf north. Keep producing inf and tanks like hell, the front expands quickly and you will need to fill the gaps, and lastly and very important, utilize pincer strategy whenever possible, encircling and destroying just one or more Russian divisions goes a long way to hamper the Soviets. It's a game that doesn't need mods to be good, A game where you are the general and you make the decisions, not a stupid Ai that leaves holes in the line, launch suicide attacks or make unnecessary moves on the line that make the divisions loose org.
The Saxon Knight You don't have to use the battleplan or direct A.I control at all in hoi 4. (Even though it's come a long way since this time last year) Like I said before, hoi 4 isn't perfect but moral of the story is hoi 4 looks like a world map simulator and this crap looks like a grainy version of minesweeper. No immersion whatsoever.
The borders in HOI3 look really bad, especially for Romania. But I do prefer having more provinces than not being able to change the borders like in real life (East Prussia can't be divided for Poland and USSR)

HOI 4 and Stellaris 2.0 are definietly the easiest, EU IV is second/third to me ( EU 4 has more complicated battle system)
