Great video, my first year as a member was 1987. Not mentioned in the video is the AWS forum, there are some very talented members sharing their knowledge
Excellent point. There were actually some more people from different departments that we interviewed that will be placed in some different videos throughout the year. I believe the forum was mentioned in one 👍
100 is a big deal! Thanks for highlighting AWS on your channel and for making the trip at their headquarters. Their journal is educational with loads of information.
Nicely done guys. Happy 100th to the AWS, It's a big deal. Whether it be publications I have purchased or from simply reading the Welding Journal every month, I have learned a lot from being a member the past 20 some years.

Don't call them. "We are experiencing high call volumes and your wait time are greater than 40 mins" They WILL NOT call you back. EVER! I called 4 days straight at 8:01am, they open at 8am. Same message.
Saw you guys on Sam, The Cooking Guy channel and browsed over, realized I'd seen a couple of your VODs. I hit the 'Subscribe' button, too! Thanks for sharing, guys.
You actually talked to a real human being at AWS? Seriously, are you sure it wasn't a robot? I have NEVER TALKED to anyone on the phone. They NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE, do not return emails. They suck at customer service. They will take you money all day brother.
HAHAHAHA.....Yeah the AWS. The same corporation that certifies CWIs who have no business being a CWI. Yeah great job, keep up the good work....lol...NOT

Life isn't about what you know, it's about who you know.
I agree with you but in my experience it's about 50/50.... It's a combination of who and what.
Great Video guys, amazing work by AWS. Congrats on the 100 years milestone.
Jason becker, you are rocking a legendary name mate :)
Been a member for 22 years and have kept CWI current since 2003.....

How do I get more information on AWS? How can I benefit being a member ?
You can get more info at AWS.org. Some of the benefits are outlined in the video.

SOOO True!! They suck azz. I hate calling them.
They're ridiculous. Past a welding test 6 months ago and still haven't got my wallet card. They sure don't mind taking your money, though.
Holy hell, did I go to high school with you Jason?

Great vid cant wait to get aws certified 😖
I love the idea of welding! I bought a welder and took a welding course at the VoTec! I SUCK AT IT!! I think maybe I drink too much coffee! LOL!
@Bob . That might be it, I went to college with a guy who didn’t drink coffee before welding 😂
Stupid question, probably: can I become a welder in my 40's? Or is it not worth it?
Online courses are great
But thank you 🙏🏽
HogOn 👨🏿🏭
