@@NoBody-ro3xj Oh, you mean that match where Ryron was getting his guard passed, constantly being on side control and doing nothing for 20 minutes? And afterwards the Gracies called it ''surviving'' ? Face it, his way of dealing with Galvao wasn't any different from Schaubs way of dealing with Cyborg. Not engaging, curling up and chewing the time. The old way is supposed to be about fight effectiveness and street application. Ryrons performance didnt check neither of those boxes.
best video on youtube about armbars. as a small guy i had the problem of getting smashed and getting turned over like at 8:50. this video answered both of my problems, Thank you!

I thought, "this doesn't exist" was common in English, so I asked my wife and she didn't know what I was talking about. English is my native language, but I guess BJJ is influence the way I speak.
Amazing. Now I actually can start trying to go for armbars from closed guard. The old way is just so unrealistic
Deuger it’s not the old way, it’s just the way beginners are taught to learn the shape of the move
@@jaychow94 well said. Also the" unrealistic old stuff" worked pretty well in the match with Galvao and Rener.
@@NoBody-ro3xj Wasn't that Ryron and didn't that match end without a sub?
@@xBaconbitz yes it was Ryron. Your kinda missing the point.

"isso non exciste" e um bordao do padre quevedo
i don't know if this is a stupid question but is the finish where you torque the leg IBJJF legal?
i believe its legal since the intention is not to actually torque the leg but to go for the straight ankle lock. There's no 'knee reaps' per se
Not a stupid question. He did say it was from sub-only competition. I'm really not sure if it's legal or not
