    We tried to be as objective as possible in this review, but we would love to hear your take! What are your personal experiences or expectations from the Citroen Basalt?
    Let's discuss!

    Basalt owner here, i bought it after taking test drive of all the cars in this segment. My main preference was driving quality and I am very happy. Only feature i miss is engine start stop button and cruise control because it’s a top model.

      Congrats Kuldeep on buying the new Basalt!
      It's understandable that you miss the engine start/stop button and cruise control, especially since you opted for the top model. These features are becoming increasingly common in modern cars, and it's always a bit disappointing when they're not included, even in higher trims.

    It's a good car.. but citroen need to concentrate more on service centres . People hesitate to buy because there are no service centres in many cities.. even the sale's man hesitate to talk about service centers.

    Although I am not an outright classist, based on what I observe in the society, it is better to buy the c3 and say it is your secondary city car, than buying the air cross or basalt and convince oneself everyday.

    I would gladly buy a Citroen, if they can assure me they would not quit the market and will be there for another 10 years at least and I would get quality after sale service, and spare parts if damaged, without any difficulty. The ambiguity of their long-term presence in India is the only reason many are hesitant about buying it.

    Take a test drive and then decide. But for sure this is one of the options one should always consider before finalizing anything. I had a discussion with one of the owner of AirCross and he is very happy with the car. As these 2 are on the same platform, one can consider any.

    Citroen needs better marketing and management. Why not have same showrooms and service space as Jeep? Both are Stellantis right?

    • @CarWale
      @CarWale  15 дней назад +2

      That's an interesting point!
      Even though they are both under the Stellantis umbrella, there are a few reasons for this difference.
      Jeep brand typically targets a slightly different customer base than Citroen, with a focus on off-road capability and a premium models.
      Citroen, on the other hand, is still relatively new to the Indian market and is still building brand awareness. They are likely taking a more measured approach to their retail expansion.
      They may eventually adopt a similar approach to Jeep, or they may continue to differentiate themselves with a unique retail experience.

    If citroen wants to be successful in india then they should obv expand their dealerships and secondly launch a compact suv with loaded features with more engine options other than 1.2L

    • @CarWale
      @CarWale  15 дней назад

      You're right! Expanding their dealership network is crucial for Citroen's success in India. A wider presence will make it easier for potential customers to experience the brand.
      And you're spot on about the need for a compact SUV. This segment is booming in India, and a competitive offering from Citroen could significantly help to cement it's position.

    Tata cars are prone to expensive repairs. I would like to know more his Citroen fares in terms of spares. The quality of interiors is important while choosing a car & both look enticing. Bored of the quasi suv cars. These cars are fresh & practical. The automatic transmission with a good engine should find good consumers. The other models from Citroen lacked appeal, but this model is appealing for sure.

    0 for crash tests for Aircross and this doesn’t have a gncap (4 stars on bncap 😂 I don’t trust anything that bncap does, take the money and give the stars kind of organization).
    In short run as far as possible away from this thing
    Just buy a tata which has a proven safety and a better service network for the same money

    • @CarWale
      @CarWale  15 дней назад

      While the Aircross hasn't been tested by GNCAP, the Basalt's 4-star BNCAP rating is still a valuable indicator of its safety. BNCAP follows the same crash test protocols as GNCAP, so it's a result we can reasonably trust.

  • @DrDre-sy2kv
    @DrDre-sy2kv 10 дней назад

    Citroen needs to learn from Kia motors and bring diesel and CNG as well to thrive in india. Going cheap won't do the job, but going with multiple options with optimum pricing and features will.
