The way I see it, the sandbag is basically the gymnastic rings of weightlifting: the instability of it, the ever-changing shape that makes every rep a little different, the way it makes us use muscles that we never thought we even had... Great inspiration!
@@Vahvafitnessit depends on the weight of the hammer, I have two Thor hammers of different weights that can be used as clubs and taxes the grip. For sledgehammers, I have 31 lber that I use for swings (basics) and got great results from it and has a smooth grip that is great for squeezing when you need to.
@@Vahvafitness My one is light weight, 4kg (i got given it years ago), so good entry level methinks and free to go - was on it quite a while last night, feeling it in the hands, so it's working! I got a 5kg head i got to put a handle on too, so got a progression there too. after that we'll see. Maces would probably be better because heads are round so even weight distribution, plus if the handle is full metal it'll be heavier along shaft too. Maybe i'll invest later on down the line:)
I myself am just getting started with sandbag training and i want to buy a proper one but don't know which one to choose, whether it's the fixed-weight ones (perhaps get a 45 and a 60 kg to start) or a fillable one, like the Ironmind large sandbag so that i can start relatively light and then work my way up in weight by adding in more and more sand. Right now i am training with a very basic, home made version of it, but it's only 30 kg or so, and i'm using an old gym bag that is already starting to come apart at the seams, so i need to upgrade to a proper sandbag. What would you suggest between Cerberus, Rogue and Ironmind? Thanks!
I agree with you yes the sandbag is great I just got one from Amazon 100 lb and I take it to the beach and fill it up and dump it out there get my workout in at the beach. You're completely wrong though about the price: the cheapest one is DOUBLE what you mentioned in the video
I feel like the beans would turn into a powder really quick. Playsand quickly turns to dust and will eventually start to work through the fabric. I use a mixture of pea gravel and sand.
Money ain't everything. Never put on Golden Handcuffs and act superior. You can do both manual labor and some strength training. Strength training makes manual labor easier, as a worker myself

Sandbags took my fitness to an undiscovered level. And made all other lifts feel easy & safe. Great content, thanks & much respect 🙏🏻
This is whole 'iron king' thing is getting me into sledge hammer swinging (that's what i got to hand) - it is really good!! thanks:)
Sledgehammer swinging is great but they are typically too heavy & not as suitable for many mace swings

I enjoyed the music track at the intro.
I guess it from India
Increble experiencia😊😊😊😊
Do you have a example of a full body routine?
iam just starting sandbag lifting its addictive !thanks for the vid . what language is that in the music its very nice .
This is the one piece of equipment from iron king method that I don't yet have. I guess you could use dried out dirt in a pinch instead of sand.
Bro his programs are so freaking expensive!!
@@kaziebtisam8958 It depends. I make that in less than a day. Time is more valuable to me, and good programs are worth the expense.
Sand, metal Shot, rubber mulch, wood pellets, bird feed,……
Great content! Could you recommend us where to buy one?
Every region and country is different, Amazon is great
Goruck has the SCARS guarantee on theirs.
GoRuck medicine Ball or Rogue fitness. I also have a 50lb from REP fitness

Buy a military surplus duffle bag. Much cheaper. Maybe 20- 30 bucks. Lots of videos on RUclips on how to make one.
Oh hey, welcome to strongman.
Make your own out of a duffle bag.
Sand?
I might steal sand from the kids sandbox in the school park
But why not pinto beans from a Bulk Barn store ?
Sand is heavier. Little girls lift pinto beans. 😂

Use pinto beans to harden your hands by fisting through the bag
Use gravel mixed with rubber mulch. Wash the gravel, dry it and then use it.
..Jake Paul is who I thought at first but not
LOL man you can build a house or do this nonsense.
Then go build the house and let us play with sand bags.

As an orthopedic surgeon I do not recommend any of these exercises.
Elaborate.
Being weak is what you recommend?
Some times soldiers die in certain training exercises. Sad. But the ones who make it come out hard as rocks. There is alway a risk.
Well medicine is about treatment of the symptoms, he will not advocate for treatment of the root cause.
