Hi from Canada. How does this rod handle lures at the low end of its' rating range -ie: say a 1 or 1.5 gram jig head with small plastics approx. 3.7cm, obviously using light line ( 1 or 1.5 kg rating)? I realize this is very light for the fish you are targeting so perhaps you never go this low in lure size/weight but , perhaps you've experimented?

Hi!! This rod is no longer in the production. But maybe you can still find it at some tackelstore. But to answear your question 1-2g jigheads with small lures are no problems. Blank loads nicely even at low weights.

@@martinreesdaiwa7396 Thank-you for the lightning fast response 😃👍 I think that it was the 7'-4" 0.5 to 5 gram rod that was dropped? I do see a model PXE 702ULFS-AS 1-9 g still listed on the Daiwa Scandinavia site but the PXE 742UL-S-AS 0.5-5g model has disappeared. But both are available from a mail-order firm in Helsinki. I was thinking the 0.5-5g rod is probably "super-ultra light" despite it "bracketing" the lure range I'm planning to use and I'm not sure it would be as fast action?
I would plan to use this as a "niche" rod for trout. I have a few other moderate/moderate fast rods suitable for small crankbaits, spinners and also Japanese sinking minnows but I was planning to explore plastic microbaits/jigs and was thinking this rod might be a good starting point.
      Cheers,
      Dave
