I'll tell you what killed it. The ESC Low voltage cut off is set to 3.4 volts , which is dumb. It shuts the plane down. I set mine to 3.0 volts, I'll puff the battery pack before I crash it.
Dude I love your enthusiasm but it was a fault you could have stopped from happening!!! I’m sorry but power assistance shut down what did you have the volts set at
I don’t see crashing my f16 a big deal I’ve done it 4 times and just hot glued it back together again and take off. “Don’t be blue, get the glue” that’s my motto lol. Great vid guys.
Heartbreaking....but we've all been there. I've been doing this for almost 40 years now and it's still never easy losing a plane. Even more so when it's a beautiful plane like the T-Bird. Try not to let it get you down and keep pushing on.
Sorry to see that after things were going so good.Haven't seen you two in a while, but hope to see you back flying real soon.Che' peace to you and Ashley!
Thank you so much for not blaming the jet. So many people start screaming about bad packs or bad whatever's. It's an F-16. They do not really enjoy flying that slow without extreme caution. And you admitted that. Much respect. We have ALL done it.
Sorry about the crash, you had what’s called an accelerated stall. Most people don’t realize that you can stall an airplane at any airspeed, it’s actually about angle of attack of the wing. In most general aviation airplanes we use airspeed as an indicator (some do have an angle of attack indicator, buts it’s not common) when you’re turning the stall speed increases with bank angle. There is a lot if literature out there on this topic. PS. I just got the grey version of this plane, looking forward to flying it.
I have this same bird. At our field we have tall pines circling the field and still don't know what happened except my depth perception was off and I was further out than what I thought and smack the tallest pine there and trees DONT give!!there wasn't a viable control service left on it, But I got the arf plus and she's back together and I did the maiden on her yesterday. Really fun jet to fly!! Even though crashing is part of the hobby , it's a tough pill to swallow!! Good luck!
My son and I are very very into pre flight and doing everything as good as we can do there is never any crashes. But once and awhile it happens. You just do your best to make sure it's not a mechanical error or something else you could have prevented. Then if it happens it just did. But it's just one plane and you can get parts so it will fly again. But it tears my heart out when this happens to anyone. If you care about the hobby and what it means to you it's hard hit to take a crash. This hobby is my son and I together out enjoying a fine thing of flight together. That means the world. I am sure it's the same for you folks with the comments of nearly in tears. It's not the plane crashing its that it's hard on the person flying it happened to. You don't want them to feel bad when doing something so great.
Hey Mr. HH, at 05:56 much MOJO your way brother from another mother, it's all part of this crazy hobby. I dumped my Commander 1.4m mPd yesterday getting cocky in high winds. Rookie mistake but that's how I, we learn. At least your meeting of the turf's postmortem is salvageable. I hate when I crash too! Get her back together soon! I didn't keep the power up in the turn with my Arrows Marlin and she nosed right over the same way. Only at 5 inches off the ground did I start getting her back but it was too late. New fuselage and she is back in the air now.
Look at the bright side, your film crew is very supportive of you. You can loose an RC jet, and replace it but you can never replace her. LoL I really don't know your relationship with her, but man I wish my girl would come with me to fly my planes.
I have watched 4 of your crash videos now and they all have one thing in common. You are banking to the right low speed and seem to tip stall You should make wider turns and keep your speed up. These are jets and need a lot of air flowing over wings to keep them up. Bank to sharp at low speeds and into the ground you will go. Jets don’t do knife edge at low speeds.
Damm bro this hurts my soul. I know we've all been there but it just hurts that much more when it's one of ur favorites. Hope u can get her back up in soon but as I'm sure you already know pull out another plane and just keep flying!

Sorry for the crash, it was a great flight and very nice jet. However, as usual for EDF jet on maiden flight, we would always not to push the flight to 3 minutes; as this is a maiden flight. I would always put the 1st flight to 2 minutes or at most 2.5 minutes at most; and check the battery after flight, to judge the proper flight time. .. always keep some battery as insurance ;-)
Wow, that hurts.. this is simply an amzing plane. I have one. But ive had some rough landings , the last one it flipped over , wing got a bit broke. All glues back but i noticed i lost the thing that you screw the wing to the body. I dont know what its called or where to get one. Does anybody know. Its the white plastic part that has the nut protruding from the body where you screw in the wing (front one)
I have this jet too which is the original grey paint version. It’s a quite heavy bird and i feel 50% throttle can barely make it cruise. Definitely need more power when making a turn.
Ohh man soz for crash 💥 dude such a lovely jet 🛩 I hate it to it’s the worst anyway big salute for not lying on floor and crying I think that’s what I would be doing lol , Gaza 🇬🇧
Sorry for you man... On mine when i drop the gear, i've a tailerons mix, because at low speed the ailerons do not respond.... And the front gear door is a real rudder.... Kiss from France ;)
Did you check the voltage of the battery after the crash. I timed the flight looks like it was only 3:30. Which is about right for the pack you were using. Which makes me think it was the low voltage cut off. I’ve seen a few plane crash because of it with these smart ESC’s.
Were you too slow I'm thinking with that heavy pack you have to keep up speed in turns .I have the same jet but I never fly with the heavy pack I love the 5000 pack flies perfect.I don't think the trade off is worth it for a few extra minutes of flight
ouch..... this happened to me too... But mine was dumb thumb.... zigged when I should have zagged... With the gear down the plane will pull right and you need to be careful on elevator too. Yanking all that throw is for sure not recommended... Sucks man and hope you can get it all back together soon...

When I realized was happening , she was so far away , it was so dark , I couldn’t make out the nav lites in her position . Hoping for the best , I chopped throttle .
