Cole, as a lifetime track fan and middle distance runner in my youth , we all are still in a euphoric state because not only what you accomplished but 3 US runners in the top 5 of the greatest Olympic 1,500 ever is heaven. thank you!
What a great interview. Thanks for the content. Cole is an example of working hard for a goal and never quitting. My 10 year old daughter loves running and you are her track idol now. I wish i recorded her reaction watching that race. You have inspired a new generation. Thank you
A great interview. Superior interviewer along with a humble champion. Good discussion of the race strategy and what decisions had to be made. Congratulations Cole!
I was certain it was going to come down to Kerr and Ingebrigtsen for the gold. But Hocker came out of nowhere. The fact he still had that much in him at the very end was astonishing. If Ingebrigtsen wasn’t in the way sooner, a part of me believes he would have beaten the world record. But the fact he made a record in itself is very impressive. And once again, US snatching gold medals away from Britain.
He was on fire 🔥 I was so happy he just ran his race and didn't get involved in the pre match drama. He seems very intelligent and grounded. Congratulations 👏
Excellent interview and great questions. The questions were well thought out and flowed with his stories perfectly. Nice work. Cole ran like a legend!!
Simply sensational…and one might dare say that there seemed to be something preternatural at play, especially when Cole and Josh Kerr were neck-and-neck seconds before the finish line and Cole pulled away to a gloriously stunning gold medal!
Really a fine interview. To get a sense of what it is like in the "control" room is very special. The smells. You're only in the same room with the very best 1500 runners in the world at their ultimate, most important career defining race ever. The interviewer asks very good questions and gets out of the way for the answers. Very cute girl too, if we're allowed to say that:)
Cole is a sensitive, team player. It’s funny to say ‘team player’ in a sport like running but his mention of overall, big picture US track achievements being relegated for so long to shorter distances and now having many more talented, hardworking middle distance guys fleshing out US track pulling their weight , this comment shows me the heart of a true champion with a vision larger than simply his own achievements being important. Respect.
math doesn't add up. World record pace is El Guerrouj's WR pace is 54.93 per 400m, if Hocker did that for 1200m, with the final 400m being faster than WR pace, it would have been a world record
Cole Hocker Congratulations on your EPIC GOLD MEDAL VICTORY!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts about your journey to winning this amazing race and with an Olympic Record! I'm a SPRINT fan at heart, but this race was FIRE! Great appreciation on how you represent the USA (great shirt too). Congrats also to Yared Nuguse on winning the Bronze medal in the fastest finish ever!
It's one thing to produce a fast final 400m and get 3:30 in the US trials to produce a fast final lap in the Olympic final. No one saw that coming. Even if Hocker had more in the tank at the US trials ...3 secs? That is highly unusual.
In life, the one that no one pays attention too is the one that walks away with the bag. He was Just waiting for the competition to cancel them self out. A lesson learned its not just u on the track .😅
I actually think he can do better. He got cut off during that final push and had to reset. If he didn't have to do that, he would have won by quite a bit more.
And by the way, MBC, shame on you for not showing us the metal ceremony live like so many other metal ceremony. You’ve chosen not to lend a patriotic spirited element to your lackluster broadcasting.
Every competitor is doping or no one is doping. It's one or the other. The elites are in the know about what the competition is doing and they do the same, accordingly.

Love him. So down to earth. Fabulous interview, just like the race. Bravo Cole.
this is one of the greatest races I’ve ever seen. It reminds me of Dave Wottle’s‘s epic 800m win in Munich in 1972.
+1 to T&F fans not being surprised. We were all waiting for Cole’s prodigious kick. 😉 Congrats!
Skillful interviewer
Minus all the "like, like, like, like, like..."
He's the champ America needed! Way to go, Cole! We were cheering you on from Houston!

Congratulations Champ!!!
This guy is so humble. And he is a beast. Love hiw he has a tight relationship with the other americans
This is a true athlete.
I was so happy to see Mr. Hocker win. Congratulations and I hope you get a rewarding future.
The Best Super Cole
Fantastik finish...
I would have recognized Hocker and Nuguse 3 years ago. It has been fun following their progression! (Hobbs grew up an hour away.)
That shirt is COLD INDEED!

Cole was criminally underrated and was there in plain sight all along to anyone paying attention, thank you for lining my pockets. GREAT ATHLETE.
Lined my pockets too!
Excellent interview and great questions. The questions were well thought out and flowed with his stories perfectly. Nice work. Cole ran like a legend!!
LFG! Great comeback win on that last turn. I was screaming like crazy.😅
Excellent interview
down to earth hero
Hes the king now.
Thank you. Good interview !

The room outdoors🎉
MUCHÍSIMAS FELICIDADES COLE HOCKER QUÉ MANERA DE SPRINTEAR Y GANAR ÉRES UN ENORME CAMPEÓN OLÍMPICO Y EJEMPLO PARA LOS JÓVENES.

Such an awesome, exciting race! Congrats to all three Americans🇺🇸! He should also get gold for his skin care routine🎉
Some incredible winners for the US (and others too), but for the USA, some great champions this go around....so fun.
His final lap was 53.3 and that was after 3 laps around world record pace. Now THAT is a kick!!!

Cole is so mature and well spoken. Easy to see that he’s a very humble and introspective person. Really impressive guy. Best wishes to Cole.
That Hobbs kid is gonna be great too. He also fly's under the radar. Might see 1,2,3 next Olympics for USA.
Cole Hocker Congratulations on your EPIC GOLD MEDAL VICTORY!!

Great job by Hobbs as well.
Feels like much humble person than the loud 2s.
Jacob still the greatest pacer of all time in this event

I just wanna know where the statue is going to be at the Oregon ducks Stadium
Steve Prefontaine never got close to a gold medal or an Olympic record. I mean Cole Hocker is the best of all time at the Olympics.
I’ll run a mile for every time Cole hocker out kicks someone in a race😂
In life, the one that no one pays attention too is the one that walks away with the bag. He was Just waiting for the competition to cancel them self out.
A lesson learned its not just u on the track .😅
I hope Centrowitz can mentor Hocker as I’m sure his post gold medal career was not as strong as he would’ve liked.
I thought that they didn't get along?
He's off to slay the Headless Horseman next...
Cole Crane, I like it!
“…right, like, I mean, like…” Hard to not be distracted by interviewers speech patterns
What speed cream is he talking about 🤔🤔
The girl is hitting on the champ. 😂
She was a pretty professional interviewer
Our distance team put the USA back on the map for elite athletes. I haven't seen performances like this since Pre.
I actually think he can do better. He got cut off during that final push and had to reset. If he didn't have to do that, he would have won by quite a bit more.
would like to him against jakob in a 5k....😂😂
Car room?

The dude has a hairline of a 38 year old but he's only 23. 😅
He seems like someone who knows they don't deserve it because of doping, unfortunately. :/
Every competitor is doping or no one is doping. It's one or the other. The elites are in the know about what the competition is doing and they do the same, accordingly.
Why do you think that?
@@booyaahJayBecause they have personal mental issues and are ignorant of the sport and Cole's development in it.
Or he's a humble winner. Goofy comment bro. Re-evaluate your life.
