Vince was sober for the first half of the tour, he was trying very hard after the car accident. But the other members were still drinking like normal, Vince had a hard time and was distant from the others, trying not to let the demons get him. But he eventually gave in near the end of this tour.
Wow, this is seriously the best live recording I think I've EVER heard of Vince. He's still messing up the lyrics, but other than that his voice sounds fabulous.
One of their most underrated songs imo. It's a great song and the lyrics are awesome. "Martin Luther Brought the truth The color of our blood's the same So break the chains And solve the pains And we all become one race" Are just a few of the lines I think are examples of why this song is just *the best* Also, I love seeing Mick just rocking the hell out of that pair of knee-high high heel boots 👌
haha...he always did that for this song, I guess the lyrics can get confusing. But either way, the band still nailed the song, strong performance. Tonight (we need a lover) was never played live. Probably because it was a strange song, that build up part with the keyboards before the solo, and then the gradual speed up at the end would not have work well live. But badass song tho, love it.
This was my first concert when I was 11y/o!! What a great memory!! Listen to how good Vince sounds!! What happend? Everything I hear from him now sounds terrible! Wish he would have taken care of himself and his voice!!
its quite cute the way vince and nikki run away up the stairs together. and i think this is the only time ive ever heard Mick make a mistake during a solo. i love him so much!
The Theatre of Pain tour happened after Vince had that horrible car accident when his friend Razzle was killed, and also after Nikki first started getting into shooting up heroin!
He also didn't serve his prison sentences until after the tour in mid 1986. In the movie they changed it and made it seem like it happened before the tour.
watching this makes me depressed in a way, knowing how far gone the band is now compared to how they were back then.. especially vince. I think musically mick, nikki, and tommy lee still have it. But vince has really let himself go in every sense of the word.. i saw them on the feelgood tour. they still played a great live show back then.
They played if for the whole entire Theater of Pain tour. It's a great song i agree, but its just one of those songs that was only played during the tour for the album it was on. It's wasn't a "hit" or whatever you call it. The "hit" songs from Theater of Pain were "smokin in the boys room" and "home sweet home" only.
Greatest most underated Tour!!

nikki said he was doing pills all through the tour though

Wow I've never heard Vince this good live. Saw him live twice and I was lucky he was pretty much on both times. Skips words like crazy but still lol
IT's not about lyrics or words or correctness or tone... it's about Attitude!! And lot's and lots of Alcohol!!! 🐹👻

It was at Joe Louis Arena , was my very first concert when I was about 13 my mom took me. Love the Crue!

Yet Nikki seems to hate this album. He's never talked about this song.
Nothing Beats the Crue Back in theThe Theatre of Pain Day.Fight.Fight.Fight!!

mick rips it on this song! def my fav song on theatre of pain, next to city boy blues.

You're right, and that is a shame because I love that whole album. Keep your eye on the money and City Boy Blues kicks ass!
@xXxGnRfanxXx I'm with you :( I was born 1995, and it sucks.
I lived in Michigan for 10 years, 45 minutes outside of Detroit...you'd be lucky to find a white person walking around the city now. lol
They didn't know the meaning of the word sober in 1985
