JHARIAH YAYAY!!!I was gonna say do a video on they might be giants but I feel like with 38 years of music and counting that would be either a 4 hour long video or a 20 minute video covering only a few things. they have done so much 😭
Personally, I call it the ‘Jhenre’ :] I’ve been listening to him since 2022 and I’m super glad he’s getting more recognition. This was a great video essay!
the great tale of how i ruined it all is told from the perspective of a character named painist btw. not jhariah himself. not sure how you missed that edit: hi okay finished the video and this is .very under-researched
The main character for great tale is called the pianist and in the trust ceremony launch party jhariah said that the two live shows and flight of the crows are the start and the reason jhariah calls it a ep is that it timeline and track list aren't the same. Great video btw
thank you so so much for these videos, I've found so many new artists and these videos have honestly and i'm not being dramatic, have changed my life as an artist, thank you, keep doing what you are doing
@@RainTheStrawberry I appreciate that so much that i’m helping you discover new talent! I’ll continue to draw more attention to the weirdest, yet stellae acts out there
I love jhariah! Just wondering if you have the scary jokes on your list? They're a great musician from nj with heart wrenching songs who's also in this sphere
Yk same, imo Risk Risk Risk and Eat Your Friends was PEAK jhariah, like still some of my fav songs in general, and I liked the prev album, but the new one? I feel like it’s regressing back to the How I Ruined It All phase w not great mixing and stuff. I wish he leaned more in on the punk aspect tbh, then it’d be perfect lol
@@astronotus_ i mean I agree with you, but on the other hand, i'm a musician, and professional audio engineer. and in this case his vocals are just inherently not as good on his new album. it's not as interesting, and it isn't as complex as the beginner's guide to faking your death album. The album after that with all the acapella tracks was SO lame. and the new album was super disappointing. I do agree though, i am not in my emo phase anymore. the only album I like by an emo band is Pretty Odd.. but that is a folk rock album
@@hunter7643 Honestly, I didn't love Eat Your Friends, and Risk was pretty solid. But I definitely agree that it is regressing back. I dont like punk, so that turned me off from Eat Your Friends. I wish he went more into the Baraque-rock style. He has crazy talented vocals, and he really is not using them. And that disappoints me
I personally define Jhariah's genre as "punk jazz" "epic gamer" and "alternative 5th wave emo"
@@straw_eater The third one is my favorite
