- Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said he will put armed officers on every public school campus. He will be holding a press conference at 3 p.m. on Friday with Polk County Schools to discuss the plan.
Good about time !!!! If you have a gun free zone you need armed guards to protect those in the gun free zones from those who do not follow the law and wish to harm the unarmed !!!
I wouldn't mind arming the principles and teachers... Safety first!!!

I am glad that there are officers out there who continue serving and protecting our children and our teachers. You all are far too under appreciated. Especially officers who get this engaged and hold themselves to their duties as police officers. Its people like you that truly make this world safer from terrible people who want everyone to be as miserable as they are. I just wish that there were more officers like you. Thank you for being the gold standard of law enforcement .

In CT, we had metal detectors on all entrances and exits on all schools in our town. Bulletproof windows and doors. You have to have ID to get in. You get buzzed in. We have drills 4 times a year. It is terrible to have to do this, but you have to try to protect the children. You can’t even get a knife into the school. It was expensive but I donated. Many others donated also. After what happened in Newton, CT. We just couldn’t take a chance.
Thats so excellent; and yeap its bothersome its whatever ppl wanna call it but theres no substitute for the children's safety; way too many baddies who roam freely and do whatever they wish to which is typically evil sh!t

I live in a Western country of 17 million people with very strict gun laws and we've never had a Columbine-style school shooting. We also don't have armed guards at school.
I am also bewildered by this. I live in Canada where people are not insane. School violence is not a thing. This cop talks about guns and metal detectors and police officers inside of a school like it's normal. WTF is going on there America?!?

@@pablot8899 I think that their problem is that even if they ban guns there are so many that if you want one you could definitely get one illegally, and also that the people doing crime would never give away their guns. And thirdly, theres no popular support.

I would say that these Resource Officers or Deputies would not hide outside like that POS did in Broward. Sheriff Grady would personally arrest that officer!

And private schools do not get free armed guards, even though the parents are taxpayers?
Private schools are funded through tuition not taxpayer money so if they want armed guards it will reflect in the tuition cost
