You are a saint! I literally sat at my desk yelling at this card last night. Decided to google this morning, since I had already cut it, and found your wonderful video. You saved my sanity and for that I thank you greatly, you amazing beautiful lady! Thank you so much and Happy Holidays!
Thank goodness I found yoiur video -- Videos by others ramble on -- sometimes repeating the same instructions (while I'm sure most of us are already frustrated!!!) This design isn't really that difficult -- but since it's so fragile, it can be quite daunting! Thank you so much!!! Don't know how it's going to work -- but I'm going to try one with a thicker kraft paper to see if that makes it any easier. Since you saved my sanity, I was sure to subscribe! I was also wondering if a very, very small dot of glue on a few areas of the snowflake where the pieces are "loose" even after put together would help stopping the thing from falling apart if it's turned in any direction other than straight up. Another thing I found helpful (after the thing fell apart repeatedly while trying to work with the bottom pieces) - is to take the loose pieces off until you get the base completed -- then sliding the other parts down on the stable "put together" portion.
Hello Anne, thank you for watching and your feedback. It’s always good to hear that I helped someone. After this video I made an acetate version, with the middle stem remaining thicker cardstock. It was beautiful but such a nightmare to build 😂 I should practice these before the holiday season! Thanks for the tips too ;)
@@TheCatSlade Can you please post the web address if you post the acetate one. I'd love to see it! (Please read my 2nd "Update" comment above regarding using the Crucit Kraft Board. having issues with the base coming apart once the cards together and it's opened and closed a few times, which makes the snowfake not open properly, do you have any suggestions?
Yes! I found that too with this first one. Having made more of them since, I use a 110lb cardstock for the base of the snowflake and the two main centre flakes. Makes it more sturdy and card doesn’t rip or soften. Hope that helps ;)
Update: I redid the project using 'Cricut's "Kraft Board" in white that I had purchased for another project and it was SO much easier to put this thing together! I choose "Kraft Board" as the material while cutting and "more" pressure instead of default. Everything went fine except for the one sheet with the parts of the snowlakes that had "legs". Not sure why. Used the same settings. I recut them on a new sheet and they cut fine the secondf time -- (maybe I didn't actually have the "more" pressure selected. I'm still learning this machine. Cat -- thank you so much for this video. I would have given up without it!
I am so happy that you didn’t give up and got the results you wanted! Have you tried any ornaments yet? My deer one was popular last year and easy to make.
Thanks for the video - I couldn't work out how to put it together from the instructions in DS. I think it would have been helpful to go a little bit slower - especially for putting the base pieces on. Unfortunately I've torn one so I'll have to do a bodge job on it..
Hello Chris. Thank you for your comment. This was the first time I made it and that base part was tricky for sure. I will make sure to slow a bit down with the enxt one, I appreciate the tip. :) The card stock can only take so much. When I made the card again, I used 110lb cardstock for the base and once it was together I glued the end tabs (with the curved tops) down. Stopped it popping up. I also used acetate for the snowflake which looked great but was not fun to weed. The stem parts still need to be cardstock as acetate is too weak to support it.
@@TheCatSlade Well done on making your first RUclips video! You did well and it's really helpful. Your comments here will also be helpful. I have just used some acetate in a snowflake star. All the best for your future recordings. x

Can I usec20 pound paper for the envelope and move the 3 little pieces to another cardstock sheet
Yes you can! I actually do that all the time. Paper for envelopes is lighter and cheaper too. ;)

Did I do something wrong? The snowflake comes apart if it's accidentally turned upside down.
But at all. It will come apart if upside down as it’s just slotted together. You could glue it in place with a clear glue to prevent this.

Thank you. Totally a Cricut design. I do love how it looks though. :)
What is the make and weight of the cardstock you are using in this project?
Recollections "cardstock paper" 65lbs for the snowflake ❄️ Card base was from a 12x12 recollections patterned pad.
Where can I find the SVG?
The svg for this is available in Cricut design space under pop up cards.
hi Cat! how did you cut these? :) do you have a template?
Hi Mary. It was all cut on my Cricut Maker machine. Project is available in Cricut design space under pop up cards. :)
