My Minpin just passed away of old age on Feb/7/2022 she was 14 years old.
she was pretty chill and lovable .She liked the outside especially warm weather , she loved the snow and hated the rain, she wasn't big on cold weather either,
she never liked the couches much either ,she always wanted to be on her own bed on the floor with blankets and pillows.
every time I'd play music she would wiggle her stubble tail in and shake like she was dancing,
she even shuck hands if you said shake,
she always liked walking in a straight path especially on the edges of the sidewalks,There was times she would attack you`re ankles as well.
My Mini pin hated baths as well she would hide if the word bath was mentioned,
there was times she would lick feet unexpectedly if you were caught off guard,Even you`re hands and wrist.
she would pick up certain toys and play tug war with you,she loved chase the ball if you tossed it. she even watched television at times ,
I hated her bark it was high pitched it hurt my ears ,
she knew certain words as well words as in bed time she knew it was time to sleep.
lets go outside or you wanna go outside , she knew words like cookie and cheese and even green beans she knew it was treats.
she was very loyal to me, She would nip or bite someone else if she was by me even family ,
She didn't like other people reaching in as in touching me if she was by me,
I miss my pup and shes been gone for about 2 days already,
doubt if i can own another pup, she was family to me .
It just feels awkward to even try to replace her,

My Princess passed away at 18. She kept my mom and me in stitches
She knew how to shake her head "NO" in answer to questions. She threw temper tantrums when she didnt like her food. I was her slave. And I adored her. I got her coats, but gave her my scarves to wrap around her as a 1st layer since the coats were too big. That worked. Had to be careful in her later years. Their little bodies are so delicate. Mine was always the same, and never needed a leash. There was once though, when he was a pup, where he almost got run over by a car. We were walking along the sidewalk when he noticed a squirrel on the other side of the road. He instantly darted across the street, right in front of an approaching car. I jumped out in front of the car too, to get it to stop. We were within an inch of catastrophe!

Hey that's all the things I love about my Min Pin, an excellent guard dog with bark and yap galore with enough energy to power a city, larger than a freight train and a force for any pitbull to fear, a dog that can detect an intruder during a rock concert, and a bed bug for those cold winter nights, yet I may add that they are runners... and masters of escape... so if they pull a Houdini they will return on their own time... so good luck chasing or capturing one if they are on the run. The most hilarious thing is the prance along with a rat tail that swings at light speed.

My Min-Pin was a rescue dog. His owners had 5 big dogs who chased him away from the food bowels. When they moved to S. Carolina, they took the big dogs and left the min-pin. My daughter drove by, saw him alone and brought him over for a play-date.
We bonded instantly and he became my PTSD dog as we both had mental issues.
His were that he would eat ANYthing no matter how had and rotten. He would run to his food bowl, steal a mouth of food and run away really fast to eat it under the chair where he was safe. I got him to stay at his food bowl but he never stopped scarfing it down and never stopped scavenging.
He had abandonment issues and would cry when I left for work until I came home. I would feed him a treat, pet him and tell him I would be back and he was ok. If I forgot the treat, he went back top crying his "i am abandoned' cry. and so on.
I kept him alive until he died 2-days before his 17th birthday. We were good for each other and when I took him kayaking, a lot, he would stand on the deck (I made him a no-slip deck cover) and chase away the zombie-killer-vampire ducks. He kept the mice and raccoons away from our camp when we went camping. He was a good dog. He slept inside my sleeping bag at my stinking feet and never minded.
I never understood why the Germans would breed a dog with such a thin coat?
He was never much of a barker except he HATED ducks and was very protective of my/his yard. So much so a druggie poisoned him for barking when the druggie stole our mail.
I took him over the Shawna's house who had a full-sized husky. One day he got tired of the husky wanting to play (he was 15) and took that husky down. Then my min-pin strutted around with the "i am king' attitude.

We adopted an older min pin who has been returned many times. He’s a nuisance barker. We had to get a gentle bark collar & now he’s golden & loves to cuddle. It doesnt shock him, it just warns him & he learned so quick!!!! This is an intelligent little guy. Bravest dog pound for pound. Marches around like he owns the place (he does). We are at his service.

I once went to Mexico and left my boy at a highly recommended pet resort for a week. When I got back, he needed to be immediately taken to the animal ER. All the doctors could figure was that he made himself so sick with horror that I left him, he stopped eating and then after a few days couldn’t eat even if he wanted to because his whole digestive system malfunctioned. It was insane. He ended up recovering.

He still barks incessantly til we put the collar on some days but he’s getting used to us. Get the no bark collar (amazon) if you have this problem. It doesn’t hurt the dog just beeps when they bark.

your min pins are gorgeous. I have had about 12 min pins so far, we like them 3 at a time, so that they can entertain each other when, and they are all best friends. They are loving and loyal, incredible watch dogs (yes, they bark). Not for families with small kids who can pick on them unintentionally and they can break a bone or get injured.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ I must say I have a teacup MinPin, her coat is red and very short she weights 4 and a half pounds. My little princess MinPin named Nikki, only barks when there's someone at my front door. The only time she misbehaves is if someone pulls her ears, she gets aggressive but with reason. Nikki, doesn't have anxiety issues when I leave, she simply knows when I'm on my way out the door I say "Be good" she then goes to her comfy little bed in front of the t.v. and takes a nap, I know this because I see her through my Ring indoor camera. And other thing, Nikki never breaks anything in the house, not even the newspaper. Lastly, I strongly believe it all depends on how you raise the MinPin dog.

My mini pins does not take over. Loves wearing a t-shirt or coat in winter. My pin does not bark excessively. Ònly if someone is near the house. Very alert . I expect her to bark if anyone walks past. It's called security. My pin is ok if I go out and does not suffer separation anxiety at all ( I have 2 they keep each other company)
my mini pins are fortunate that I work from home so maybe that's why they are so relaxed.

    1. Mine is used to walking and running a lot, however, he has sweaters and jackets plus one extra warm worn if the temperature is below -10°C (hardly ever, but it happens), 2. I love sleeping with him by my side, it's much warmer, so it's not a problem for me ;), 3. Barking is annoying, fortunately, he doesn't bark when home alone, yet when I'm at home and he feels safe, he barks, distracting him is essential, 4. Mine doesn't seem to have problems with staying alone, he is sad, but because he was trained from the very beginning to be alone (I started with 5 minutes when he was 8 weeks), there are no problems, no barking, crying, or destroying things when I'm out, 5. Yep, Napoleon, sometimes he "argues" with me, when I want him to do/go and he has a completely different opinion about it :D, yet sorry, I'm the boss, he always "talks back" but he obeys me :)

Everything he says is absolutely right.
One thing I have a trouble for my mini pin is that he is exclusively so royal to its owner, it seems to be almost impossible for him to be socialized. Barking at everyone else except his family and being daredevil to any other dogs 10 times bigger than him even if one bite could just snap his neck.
And their skin is so sensitive and vulnerable. Too much of shower may cause skin trouble. I take him a shower only once in three months or less.
With all those reasons those reasons are the exactly the reasons I own 3 generations of Minipins. They’re unresistably attractive for sure.

She tries to pull out of her harness and in NYC, you don't want that to happen. She is so happy indoors, but man oh man, talk about attachment. I take a shower and she's right outside on the bathroom floor waiting. Barking? OMG, when we get a food delivery, all hell breaks loose. Absolutely true on everything you said and I will always own a minpin. Amazing animals and very human like. Definitely a breed you want to bring into your life as a puppy because they will learn your ways better than any other dog I've ever seen. The biggest note to take from this video is they need a lot of attention and mostly just to be near you. Nubbins my harlequin minpin has bad separation anxiety and he's very highstrung but he also doesn't really want to be held a lot and these dogs will pout and deliberately act out if you abandon them. Pretty smart I'd say 😆

Said he had some type of a mass inside that had ruptured, and was bleeding it was about 7 at night ,it was clear there was no hope I had to let him go, suddenly, I know he was old but I thought we would have a little more time together, I held him for a little while, at 10pm ,My Buddy's time had come to the end(stopped), He was My love , can't begin to tell..... the pain,. That day he was doing good , so suddenly. My girl is now 10 , she's also a little doll , so sweet and loving, I got her for him as(puppy 7wks) a best friend and he would kiss her, very lovingly. I'm holding her now , we both missing our Buddy , how long will it take for me to stop crying I don't know, he was so smart. I would like to find a puppy for her to love ( they're both chocolate/tan s) purebreds are very expensive now . I have a beautiful home a back yard like a park for them , if anyone reading this can help to find a puppy for My Honey call me at six o two - five nine six - two four two seven PHX.
