Love the product and I’m not a beer maker, but the simplicity draws me in. What stopped me from hitting the purchase button is the proprietary bags. There’s another product like this who went out of business, leaving owners with an expensive paper weight. If you can figure out a system that uses reusable materials to where I can keep brewing even if you close up shop, then count me in. But I do hope you guys thrive as a business. All the best!

The BEERMKR looks interesting, I have to agree with the comment you responded to in that even though Pico is belly up I still use my Pico C/S/Pro/PicoStill and Z for brewing, the machines are still supported fully via products and open source software along with companies like Northern Brewer and Great Fermentations releasing recipes for the Pico machines makes them more flexible than when PicoBrew was alive (go figure right). Outside of any beer I want to brew, I brew Kombucha and use the machines for Sous vide.
Your article didn't mention these details so I thought I would elaborate just a bit.

Same here, proprietary bags are sadly a no-go for me which is disappointing as the tech seems perfect. Also because I watched many videos but I still can't figure out if you can reuse the bags, how many times, and where to buy new ones, for what cost... No FAQ on the website either. Sorry guys, I would have loved to give you my money :) (No update in the News sections of your website since September 2022 doesn't smell good if you bought this machine and rely on the company to continue using it.)

With other kits I've noticed you need to buy other accessories like Co2 cartridges is this the same or different? Also does the device tell you when to add things and which things to add? I've been looking around for a beer making device but not sure if it's worth it in the long run. Any information given would be greatly appreciated.

CO2 is included with every MKRKIT purchase. So they will include everything you need to brew a complete beer every time. Feel free to check out our website, www.beermkr.com for lots of more awesome info! If you want anything more personal please reach out to support@beermkr.com

Nice video but you didn't mention hops. I think that's an important factor and the one area that beermkr deviates from traditional brewing through the use of steam hops, or playing around with hop teas, etc. to get enough bittering acids from traditional hops.

    • @beermkr1346

BEERMKR is the only automated brewing system to allow no restrictions in hop additions. You can add as may varieties as you choose, for whatever hop schedule you choose. All of the hops are added at once to the brewing chamber and the system heats up to pasteurization, starch conversion, and whirlpool temperatures (150 F / 65 C). This temperature extracts all of the oils out of the hops as well as their other flavor compounds. Because BEERMKR uses Steam Hops in addition to raw hops, the hop flavor, aroma, and bitterness combinations are endless. Steam Hops has developed a new hop processing technique which isomerizes the alpha acids while also volatilizing the low temp oils like myrcene. This gives Steam Hops the same flavor and bitterness profile as if they've been boiled. Steam Hops can be produced in all gradations, resulting in individually packaged 10, 15, 30, or even 60 minute hop additions that can be used in the mash, whirlpool, or even in the fermenter and yield the same bitterness and flavor profile as if the hops had been boiled for 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes. This let's you the brewer use hops more like the way you use malts in the mash. All go in at once but different oils and bitterness come out.

BEERMKR creates a closed and insulated environment, allowing precise temperature control throughout the beer making process.
During brewing, BEERMKR activates all of the enzymes present in the grains to break down starch and protein while achieving a system-wide pasteurization.
During fermentation, BEERMKR creates the perfect environment to keep the yeast happy and productive, maximizing the speed and efficiency in which they convert sugar to ethanol.
And did we mention BEERMKR can cold crash and lager?

@@beermkr1346 I am more concerned about lack of bitterness if hops are not boiled. Also other processes needs the boil. Whatabout that?

The music in this video is repetitive, annoying and totally unnecessary. It made it almost impossible for me to concentrate on the presentation. In fact, I'm so annoyed right now that I'm not going to finish watching the video. Good luck.

Made me sad too. But I'll still consider your product...no worries. I turn off hundreds of videos, movies etc, even walk out of stores because the music choice and the manner in which it's used make me want to stab my eardrums with an ice pick.
