- Went to get a bale spike and ended up on a test drive HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ME 😂😂😂 jumped into the Huerlimann which was very snazzy front links and PTO yes life, looked around loads of tractors few case tractors like ours, loads of Zetors some little solis scraper tractors like what Olly has, and some huge beasts as well. I’ll have to go up for a proper look around the old girls at some point but you don’t want to be rude and video peoples stuff too much you know?… I have never seen that many tractors in one place on a mountain 😂 put cornthwaites to shame!!!
Ended up bringing cows in as well so an imptomptu tidy up of the shed quickly.
in 2009 i had no experience of farming or the realities that came with it. That soon changed when I met my other half Roy, I had a job as a carer and in every spare moment threw myself into farming. I had only ever driven a Nissan Micra and had experience with horses, I learnt the hard way as nobody had the time to show me and soon after arriving I found myself mothering on calves to three quarter bred limmy cows. We spent every available moment on the farm between our day jobs. Fast forward to 2016 two children later we moved into our very own farm overlooking the northern Pennines, Laitha.
we are in a transitional period at present and will finally be milking cows and making the final switch later this year, after years of planning and implementing infrastructure we will be milking 120 Jersey cows on two Lely robots. This will be a huge change and a steep learning curve

I am overjoyed to be a farmer. I feel so fortunate every day to wake up and do what I love and even better share it with the world and hope it inspires more young people from Preston to spread their wings and think outside the box the world doesn’t need more childcare workers or hairdressers it needs more farmers.

That case tractor was owed by Tom Pemberton when he got his new tractor early this year

I had a chicken that used to sleep with the pig. Roosting on Dirty Gertys back..... One morning I went in and could only find a wing! Gerty didn't need her breakfast that day.
what is it with people these days worrying if you buy your things or are given them that is your business Rays mate Joe isn't worried about free stuff 😉😉. There was I thinking size didn't matter and now you are obsessed with needing a longer one😮😮 (spike obviously )

Hello there. You can't beat a bit of home grown beef. And it's a while sin I had some. Old fella was a slaughter man but he's been gone sin 1989. So getting hold of any descent meat is a bloody merrical. There loads of that supermarket crap.

Looks like you got all the equipment, and new building Charlotte.
Do you have many grants on your farm, I don't have any BPS as it was taken of me because my niece did not transfer it back to me when she left this farm.
I only farm with my own cash, so I can go forward very quickly in fact dead slow. I even have silage what will just get topped, as it going to cost to get it cut and baled for a second cut 😮.
We got a grant to put a roof on the silage pit and also the muck sheds, and the concrete down the bottom yard was on a grant :) apart from that it’s been savings x x

Involvement in product testing and development is great fun, especially if they genuinely want to know how to make it better with feedback from real users - I did a bit on climbing kit in the 90s and it was oddly satisfying to see a pocket moved a bit to be more useable - such a small thing to get satisfaction from but it is all about making stuff a bit less shit!
I would have taken the make up and demonstrated how good it is at blending in with streaks of cow shit - although your career as a product tester and marketeer might have been rather short lived once the fancy boutique in Paris realised where the glamourous test location was 😂
Between all of the farming youtubers, you should gang together to start a league table on who gets offered the most inappropriate freebie for a farmer to plug

A properly cooked piece of beef, non of this pink still half alive rubbish, it warms my heart and taste buds, will be going out to butchers tomorrow to get a decent bit of beef for tea (yum). Keep on doing what you do well Charlotte.
