I have the same bike and here are the issues I have had to deal with so far. 1) the bike is too jittery - B mode is ok, but once you start riding in STD (standard) or A mode, you get a totally different bike. Compared to B mode, the bike is more alive and more playful 2) the suspension is soft as hell, getting a steering damper asap. 3) shaking above 180 is normal, it gets better if you don't grip hard and I hope the damper will make it much better I am going to a Yamaha dealer in two days (22nd June) to have a remap hoping to fix the jittering and response of the throttle, will let you know, they do this for free on the 1st gen of MT09s.
this is the 1 gens 1 year of this bike both the front and rear suspension is pure garbage. Have to invest in better. do the recalls, get the chain tensiner replacement. and other stuff
It's A, B and STD mode, i always kept it in std mode, that's the full power but easy on the throttle response, mode A is very jumpy and then B is actually about 15HP less, more like rain mode
It felt shaky at high speeds because you are gripping the handle bars hard. You should think of your grips like you are holding a chip and you don't want it to break. Hold onto the bike with your knees squeezing the tank, don't hold your body on the bike with your hands on the handlebars. I hope that makes sense lol. I have a 2015 fz09.
Thanks for the suggestions but i have ridden before on many other bikes but it was the only one with that issue, the front suspension probably needs to be adjusted and I'm gonna do it soon and provide an update
Ok new update, it was the windshield, i took it off and now it doesn't shake I've also started not gripping the handlebars as much, just like you said, maybe i was gripping ut too hard without even realizing so thanks for that reminder mate 👍
ive got the same bike, same year, same color. it has aftermarket k-tech suspension for a 240lb rider but im only 160lb so suspension is quite stiff. its still just a bouncy bike tho. and about grip strength, I hold on for dear life. dont think the potato chip-grip is a good idea with the torque output on this thing, especially when hammering on the throttle. too loose of a grip and you are bound to get death wobbles on your next big pothole. thats just my 2 cents
rong tires on the front use michelin power 5 on the front and power 2 ct on the back its best experience on the public roads if you want beter milage on the back then put pireli angel gt 2 !

My shaking was caused by the aftermarket windshield that i had on it, it's been pretty fun since I removed it
fz09 doesnt need a steering dampener... it needs a new shock and fork cartridges. ECU flash fixes the throttle.

Tires were pretty new in this video but they r dunlop tires, I'll definitely be switching to pirellis next season or the one after that
