One of the biggest challenges for beekeepers is preventing their colonies from swarming in the Spring. Because The Keeper's Hive uses a fixed 8 frame brood chamber, swarm prevention is more critical. But fear not - with The Keeper's Hive, you can easily perform the highly effective Demaree method for swarm control, and in this video we tell you exactly what to look for so that you time it correctly.

I’m looking forward to watching you perform the Demaree. I’m just learning about it.
Love the seated inspection. Looking forward to seeing when you get to the Demaree. I've got an open spot in my apiary for the keepers hive.
Demaree coming soon! Seated hive inspections and less lifting is a beautiful thing. George
What r the lo temp’s that r tolerable to doing a demaree?
Thx
40s.
What was the outside temperature the day of inspection? The sit down hive inspection looks awesome!
The temperature was about 60F. There is a lot to like about a seated hive inspection and less lifting. George
What Temps at night can the bees handle to do the demaree?
Great question. Temperatures at least 40s at night. Got to make sure there is enough bees to cover the split brood nest. It is the art for sure. George
Nothing wrong with spoiling yourself by sitting to inspect your hives! Can’t wait to spoil myself. It will be at least May before there’s any splitting hive here in Ontario. However, with this mild weather and Spring coming so early, who knows?! 🐝🐝🤷🏼♀️
Sometimes I take for granted seated hive inspections! George
It is a very beautiful thing. This hive is comfortable. I am currently in Algeria. I have started working on hives like yours. I hope to make honey from them.
Healthy bees will make honey! It is what they do. The key is to prevent them from swarming and keep them healthy. George
