So those mochi are covered in kinako which is a roasted soybean powder. It is not nuts, so actually safe and why you didn't have an allergic reaction when he aerosolized it. It can be confusing if your not familiar because it tastes nutty. It's a popular flavor in Korea too called injeolmi.

This was so fun Mia! I dont really like how most of RUclipsrs record themselves while walking/shopping/eating etc, it gives a headache bc of the way they film everything, but i love how you filmed the store and then used the green screen to be in the video, it was relaxing and i loved all the food reviews ❤
I'm kinda late to this video but I hope Mia sees this: that powder on Stuart's mochi probably wasn't nuts, that most probably was kinako, which is toasted soy powder. It is really popular in Japan and it kind of tastes similar to peanut. I'm not sure but I think it is safe for you if you can eat soy. My grandma used to do that for us, get some soy grains with relatives living in the countryside, toast them in the oven and use a really old cast iron grinder to make it into a powder, then mix with sugar and we would just sprinkle that over stuff or eat spoons out of that 😅. Japanese desserts use that too so you may be able to eat them safely if not soy allergic. Specially the shaved ice in the summer, they serve that with macha and red beans and sprinkle kinako over that sometimes.
I mean she was probably there for at least a week so I bet she tried a lot of other food. She seemed genuinely excited about trying the 7/11 food so It seemed like she would have felt like she missed out if she didn’t go there.
Hey Mia! In regards to dinner supper etc. My family is from Newfoundland, and I was raised partially with my Poppa who was born in 1928. He was one of 19 children. So they used to get up VERY early to fish, hunt, cut wood etc. They'd have a fast breakfast, usually home made bread that was toasted on one side only (they toasted it over a wood stove in a metal contraption...with so many of them waiting for toast their mother would often just toast one side, butter it and keep toasting)! So after this quick breakfast, they would go do HARD work for a few hours. His mother "put the pot on" at about 8 in the morning with salt beef (no fridges, meant a lot of salt meat). A few hours later she'd add the pudding bags (usually savory), and cabbage, turnip, carrots and potatoes. It would be ready for "dinner" at noon. Supper would be lighter often. With so many children and no electricity, bedtime was earlier. Lunch was something they had before bed. Soooo, short story long, breakfast, then dinner (the biggest meal of the day), and supper then lunch. I hope my over use of brackets didn't distract you from the reason. LOL xo

I’m living for the Japan content! I went there last summer and it was my favorite trip by far. The conbini content gave such nostalgia, I miss it so much! 💛
Next time you’re in LA- you can totally find many of these things here if you’ve got a craving! The donut you had was a mochi donut and they’re incredible (and available alllll over LA!). I went to Japan when I was 14 and fell in love with a lot of things, but I lived in a small Midwest town so I thought there was no way to get any of it here. Now I live in LA I often see things I remember from my trip🥰
The way you described butter being jam packed between the pancake and there’s literally jam packed between the pancakes 😂 always wanted to go to these convenient stores, definitely a must on my Japan bucket list😁
Wisconsin has a place called Kwik Trip... lots of options. Plus a machine that makes smoothies, blended frozen lemonade, lemonade, iced coffee, and another machine that blends up milk shake type things. And hot roller foods. Fresh fruit galore. (also usually the cheapest place to buy bananas)
Yes, I'm from Wisconsin, too and can confirm, but I currently live in Mexico so there are Oxxo stores on every corner instead, still not as good as Kwik Trip though
i had no idea it was only in wisconsin 😹 my whole life i thought it was everywhere… apparently not! once i skipped school with my friends and we biked there and got food, it was pretty fun.
Dinner can be either lunch or supper, it's just the biggest fanciest meal of the day. Thanksgiving dinner and sunday dinner are often served at 2 or 3 in the afternoon in the usa.
I love this so much! I can’t wait for the rest of the Japan videos!! Mia you NEED to do a eating at Canadain 7-11 / convince store challenge video please!?
in America, the 7-11s around me all the sandwiches, fresh fruits, yogurts, etc last for 2-3 days. so when it gets delivered, it only stays out (or is supposed to lol) for 2-3 days, depending on the item. the donuts are daily. the hot foods are out for 1-4 hours. they’ve basically Americanized the true 7-11s in Japan; ya know, greasy food, there’s the standard grocery store processed foods in the freezers, etc. im a frequent 7-11 customer, i want to go to a 7-11 in Japan soooo bad lmao. i never buy the food at 7-11s here, but everything looks so much better there. we don’t have anywhere near the good, cool stuff. definitely no smoothie machines and the soup stuff and all that. i’d love to try some of their food.
Can confirm, conbini's are BOMB!! Currently living in Japan and they are amazing when you're traveling or if you want a relaxing, easy night of dinner for not too much :)

@@crystak6985 Iowa has Kwik Star which is owned by the same company.
Mia can you do a video where you test the highest and lowest rated makeup products at Sephora but you don’t know which is which and you have to guess?
Dinner can be either lunch or supper, it's just the biggest fanciest meal of the day. Thanksgiving dinner and sunday dinner are often served at 2 or 3 in the afternoon in the usa.
This. It's the main meal of the day
Your Japanese is actually good! Very cute!
I love you and Stuart together. This was really fun!
These are the best videos ever! They have the best 7-Elevens there!
love your videos Mia!
21:17 ❤️🥺 what a sweetie
I just love Mia, 100% my comfort RUclipsr, I wish literally nothing but the best for her and her family
I love this so much! I can’t wait for the rest of the Japan videos!! Mia you NEED to do a eating at Canadain 7-11 / convince store challenge video please!?
in America, the 7-11s around me all the sandwiches, fresh fruits, yogurts, etc last for 2-3 days. so when it gets delivered, it only stays out (or is supposed to lol) for 2-3 days, depending on the item. the donuts are daily. the hot foods are out for 1-4 hours. they’ve basically Americanized the true 7-11s in Japan; ya know, greasy food, there’s the standard grocery store processed foods in the freezers, etc. im a frequent 7-11 customer, i want to go to a 7-11 in Japan soooo bad lmao. i never buy the food at 7-11s here, but everything looks so much better there. we don’t have anywhere near the good, cool stuff. definitely no smoothie machines and the soup stuff and all that. i’d love to try some of their food.
omg we were in Japan at the same time I would have lost it if I saw Mia there
Love the Stuart cameos!!!
Can confirm, conbini's are BOMB!! Currently living in Japan and they are amazing when you're traveling or if you want a relaxing, easy night of dinner for not too much :)
You are the best youtuber Mia! ❤ I get so happy when you upload and now I’m hungry too 😅♥️
You and your husband look so good together!
I love your videos because you make me smile and forget the world a min. Thanks Mia ❤
Bruhh I’m watching you for the first time and your intro was chef kissssss 🎉🎉🎉
You and Stuart are so cute together. I know he doesn't like to be on camera that much, but he was great!
You two are total cutie patooties!
They look so cute together, he should be more on camera, it makes Mia sparkle way more
I love hearing Mia hit those Duolingo phrases! I’ve been learning Japanese thru that and a few other resources for 108 days now so it’s awesome to see one of my favorite RUclipsr’s learning too! みあわやさしひとでう
I miss the konbini so much, great video Mia!! can't wait for more Japan content ❣
Late night Stewart and Mia is probably my favorite thing ❤😂
