+Mr Lurch The silver can be very tricky to colour match. But these pens work perfectly on Ram Man. Not often I don't have to mix a couple of colours to match.
Another fantastic restoration Toy Polloi! I think your toy restoration vids are the best on youtube! They have certainly helped me with my own numerous vintage star wars restorations! Keep up the good work!
I have found a couple of these figures in a local antique store in some grab bags with other figures for pretty cheap! Might pick them up and restore them for my little guy!
It's always so interesting to see how just by getting all the little details back into shape a 'kinda daft, kinda rubbish' piece of plastic comes back to a lively state. (Seeing the illusion of life in them restored is great) I imagine it was interesting when these were first designed as well because then the designers would - of course- have hunted for the cheapest, most easy to apply solution for creating this transformation from hunk of plastic to engaging awesome figure. Edit: And you really get this type of satisfaction in all kinds of restoration work. It will so often go from, 'ugh, it's so bad, let's just chuck it' to 'wow, that's so nice, can I have that?' And often it hardly takes much: proper cleaning, proper lube of mechanical bits, sanding off or hiding some scuffs, coat of varnish, boom! done.
I just applied this method to my vintage Masters of the Universe Ram-man with a Krylon silver leafing pen (purchased at Walmart) and the results were amazing! A perfect match to the manufacturer's silver paint! thanks so much!
If I do a restoration on my Ram Man, I think I may just use silver paint for his gauntlets instead of the tape. Either way, this was an awesome guide! I've recently gotten into collecting these toys and I have a LOT of restoration work to put into them.
Masterful results! Sorry, I couldn’t resist:) Ram Man is a fav of mine too. Always enjoy your videos as you do a great job with your tips. Very Kind Regards! Pat
2 more castoffs brought back to life by Toy Polloi! 'Ram Man' - if ever there was euphemistic name... I also wanted him as a kid but never got him. Saw him at someone else's house though. I never managed to get the MotU Classic one either. I guess he'll always escape me...
I do remember the mysticism of these figures with the mini comics. The show took them a different direction and kind of solidified the FeeL of the figures for me
My dad used to have one of these when he was a kid and i remember playing with it when we lived with our grandparents, I'm pretty sure he should be in a football shaped toybox in their garage still lol
Amazing!!, also interesting because I never knew that Ran Man have silver stickers for gauntlets. I never own that figure when I was a kid, only saw what friends have, so I never saw it when it was new. That means only one thing... I NEED TO RESTORE MY RAN MAN!!! Thank you for the video.
i think this was on a lot of kids want list unfoutantly i did not know what this action figurs name was growing up in the early to mid 90's i repeadely watched the movie Indian in a cupoard, I am now a huge Motu fan!
These paint markers are a great match and so easy to use, however I'm finding they are either taking an age to dry or they are leaving a sticky texture after applying and leaving for a week or so ?
I have a vintage one from childhood and thinking about using the Molotow chrome marker for his gauntlets. Never really liked how the chrome stickers didn't cover the gauntlet molding lol
OMG you did Rammy!!!!! I love it. Now the question is should I fix my whole collection. I slightly like all their marks and scraps of wear over time its the only way I can distinguish between them all. I can still spot my cheapest one, which has cellotape all over him that I haven't peeled off
Thanks for your videos. I did a retouch on a Roboto for his boots, it came out great! I would like to do something similar to a He-man Stridor. Do you think a similar silver marker will work for that?
30 years ago or so my cousin gave me ram man when he noticed i was playing with his toys that he had no interest in. i still have him to this day hes on my ledge in my living room
Always look forward to the MOTU restorations. I still have a RamMan with only one Gauntlet, I was not sure how to make another one but you solved that for me ....Awesome ...I have been looking for another RamMan while at Toy shops and Flea Markets. I want to re-paint a beater one in the Filmation colors with an Orange top and red legs. I love the Filmation stuff and I have my mind set on that. Also another great intro keep up the great work as always. Thank you sir
I had a look around before I filmed this video to see if anyone had made a guide for the gauntlets and couldn't find one, which surprised me as they are always missing. Hopefully it will help a lot of people.
The orange and red Ram Man was the colours of the unproduced prototype toy, not the Filmation cartoon. That version was also seen on the back of the figures blister card packaging. On the cartoon he was red & green, just like the original toy.
I think it would cause too much damage to the toy. If I get another Ram Man I may have a go at cracking it open. But these two just needed the outside fixing.
+TheTrueDecepticreep He is a pretty rubbish toy compared to the other he-man figures. But I think that is why I always wanted one. The spring action must have pleased me.
Interesting. Never knew the original had anything wrapped around his bracers. I thought they had nothing in them, like the He-Man figure. Have you considered painting them like the newer MOTU classics figures are? I understand you may want to make them as close as the original as possible, but for me they would look so much better fully painted instead.
Hello :-) I have bought the Edding pens, but the color don't get dry. I have waited 5 hours but the color was still wet. What went wrong? Do you have an idea?
Why fuss with the fancy foil for the gauntlets? Just use the paint pens. Maybe not be a "authentic" but it will be a lot more permanent. You could even be "original" and paint the gauntlets black (to match his boots) but paint the trim and the rivet silver (to match his armor). If you really wanna go crazy, paint the rivets either red or green (to match his other colors. Make one red and one green for a "holiday Ram Man"... glue some cotton baton on his chin for a white beard, lol.
I had a ram man years ago but it went missing i actually believe a so called friend stole it as well as other thigs, sadly the only thing i have left is his axe as evidence i did own it! gutted, oh and great job
I restored my Ram Man with Citadel Model Paint. I Think that woud be easyer. And the Paint is an Acylic paint. Thats is better for the Plastic i think.
Listings to the items come and go all the time, so it's better I just give you all the details in the videos. Otherwise I would be updating links on my videos every month. Almost therapeutic watching you paint that Ram Man
Thanks 😌
I'm properly impressed on how well that silver paint pen matched. Silver can be one of the hardest to match in terms of shininess especially.
+Mr Lurch The silver can be very tricky to colour match. But these pens work perfectly on Ram Man. Not often I don't have to mix a couple of colours to match.
Is there no Toy that you can’t bring back to life? Great job as always. You are the Toy Master for sure.
Nice to see you brought my old ram man to life! Amazing as always Dave, looks fresh off the shelf
+richy12377 Thanks again for sending old ram man in. He was great fun to work on.
Ram-Man was one of my favourite MotU figures as a kid.
Another fantastic restoration Toy Polloi! I think your toy restoration vids are the best on youtube! They have certainly helped me with my own numerous vintage star wars restorations! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the great comment! Appreciated.
I hate to say it but I keep on falling asleep when I watch your videos, not saying they're boring or anything, I guess I'm just that simple minded.
Nothing wrong with that. I fall asleep watching things I enjoy. Just shows you are relaxed. 😊
That was the bombziggy, it relaxes you!.Ramman has to be the craziest Motu ever. Hes a shell of a master.
My wife had a silver pen, and I had silver paper, so I just applied those instructions. Very nice :)
Wow! You made them look brand new.
I have found a couple of these figures in a local antique store in some grab bags with other figures for pretty cheap! Might pick them up and restore them for my little guy!
You continue to blow my mind! You are a true artist! Brilliant job!!!!!!!
I still insist, there’s nothing you can’t repair! Great job man! 👍🏼✌🏽
Very good restauration, congratulations......LIKE
Great review & restoration👍👍
I got my Ram Man out after watching this and he had silver paint removed and scratches in the same places. Must be the headbutting action he did.

I'd bought some of the silver tape and was going to make a template from the one beaten up bracer I had already, but you've saved me a job. Thanks!
It is quite and odd shape you have to make. I was surprised no one else had made a pattern for it.
What type of tape did you buy ?
Aluminium tape
@@yunoyuluvit ok thank you so much
Look brand new dave! Nice..just watched spring replacement also! On the 2do list 👍🍺👍
I just applied this method to my vintage Masters of the Universe Ram-man with a Krylon silver leafing pen (purchased at Walmart) and the results were amazing! A perfect match to the manufacturer's silver paint! thanks so much!
very nice work i have about 7 ram mans that need this done i thank you kindly sir.
Awesome restoration job!
My kids and I call you “the mcguyver of toys”. Phenomenal job as usual.
What a difference!
I remember using his action feature to make him jump when I was young
solide toy
It wasn't actually a jumping feature, just a headbutting action.
Always one of my most favourite characters. Good old Rammie :)
Excelentes review .te felicito por ser tan profesional con las figuras vintage de he man ...

Nice fix, left enough wear to give it that used feel but not straight out of the box.
Just wanted to say - you're very talented. Thank you for making these videos.
+foamyone101 Thanks.
brilliant fix it guide on ram man toy polloi
Thanks!
Congrats on getting your Ram Man!! Great job!!
BEAUTIFUL video and BEAUTIFUL restoration
Quite impressive
Awesome job! Love that you used paint pens
My favourite part of all these restorations is the "hot soapy water" :-)
That is amazing, especially the guantlet work! You’ve earned yourself a new subscriber sir.
Thanks. Welcome onboard!

I owned this since childhood but even I couldn't have told you that about the gauntlets. I assumed they were always skin coloured in error.
If you can get sheets of abs plastic you can liquify shavings in acetone and use that as a filler for pits and cracks in toys
i think this was on a lot of kids want list unfoutantly i did not know what this action figurs name was growing up in the early to mid 90's i repeadely watched the movie Indian in a cupoard, I am now a huge Motu fan!
Always loved Ram Man great job well done !.
Some guy: Here, take my garbage figure and do with it what you will
Toy Polloi: *turns it into a masterpiece*
Some guy: Awwww... my Ram Man!
Love he man vids...thanks again
Pretty awesome work!
are those pens oil based pens? im looking at the sharpie brand and not sure which to get.
wow love this video, well done. How about a Teela restoration next as they are always very battered!!
I'll try and find one to work on.
These paint markers are a great match and so easy to use, however I'm finding they are either taking an age to dry or they are leaving a sticky texture after applying and leaving for a week or so ?
Might be you didn't shake the pen long enough to mix then properly.
so satisfying

never mind, guess you can't fix the spring inside.
I think it would cause too much damage to the toy. If I get another Ram Man I may have a go at cracking it open. But these two just needed the outside fixing.
7:38 - Hey... that looks better already...
This is my favorite video of yours.
Great work! May I make a suggestion? Maybe the Benny Hill theme music playing during the sped up parts. It's just a little too quiet.
What’s the sandpaper’s grit?
too young to have ever had these in the past, but is there a reason you didn't just paint the wristbands like you did the helmets/belts?
The original wristbands were made like this and I was wanting to make the figure look as it did when it first came and out. Cheers
What exactly does lighter fluid do when cleaning? Is it a more safer method to clean than rubbing alcohol?
Great resto. I always hated this figure though. He always reminded me of a chinsey happy meal toy.
+TheTrueDecepticreep He is a pretty rubbish toy compared to the other he-man figures. But I think that is why I always wanted one. The spring action must have pleased me.

Have you considered painting them like the newer MOTU classics figures are? I understand you may want to make them as close as the original as possible, but for me they would look so much better fully painted instead.
I've not looked at the classics version. But you could easily paint them if you wanted. For me I like the simplicity of the vintage toys best.
Must have been a variant. Mine didn't have anything around the bracer
I doubt Hanna Barbera or Mattel even put this much work into Ram-Man originally!
very nice! ;)
Have any ideas on how to repair the actual spring that makes Ram Man, well... ram?
Genial!!, thanks..
Hello :-) I have bought the Edding pens, but the color don't get dry. I have waited 5 hours but the color was still wet. What went wrong? Do you have an idea?
Hi, not really. Did you shake them well? Maybe they changed the formula?
@@toypolloi Yes, I have shaked it very long. Maybe your are wright and they changed the formula. Thanks for your quick answer.
Why don't you use the lighter fluid first so it's washed off when you clean them?
Because most of the marks will just wash off with water. This is just used for certain marks that need a bit of extra work.
Did you know that the wrist-cuffs are the same colour as his flesh? Maybe they could be painted as silver to match his armour.
You could do that, but the original action figure had silver stickers over the wristbands.
How durable is the paint after it cures?
I may be crazy but were the arm bands ever silver? I remember them being always flesh coloured.
They were just like I made them in this video. Cheers
you remind me of the Geri from Toy Story 2
.... I'm staring at my Ram-Man who is just as bad of shape... mind if I attempt a restore using your technique?
If it wasn't for Dave I'd never have restored my WWF figures back to a display standard. Jiraiyaplays
Could you use isopropyl to get off most blotches?

Nice work on Rammys know how to fix the legs on the motu classics figure
Thanks. What is wrong with the classics version? I don't have him, so don't know. Cheers

You should make the axe
Why fuss with the fancy foil for the gauntlets? Just use the paint pens. Maybe not be a "authentic" but it will be a lot more permanent. How much for ram man goes for.
