Thanks so much! I've been starting to get into doing maintenance on my own car. Only comment is that it would have been good to hear why you were replacing them, like if it had just been a while since the last change, or if there was something going on with the car.
HI, I just realized I gave an answer to a different video before - I just deleted it and commenting with the proper answer - sorry about that. The reason that I changed the plugs is because I was getting an occasional misfire. It's Usually the coil or the spark plugs that would cause this. Thanks for watching!
I could have dripped into the spark plug socket area every time oil was added - it can happen very easily. I would make sure that wasn't the problem before you put on a valve cover gasket.
Thanks for your video a great help to me. My Soul UK 2011 started misfiring a little yesterday. Engine light on as well. On driving it seemed to me possibly a fuel issue, your advice on the oil/plug combo seems good. Going to get plugs today and put them in. Thanks
On the pigtail that connects to the coil pack there's a little Grey clip and you only need to slide it up and it releases it from the coil .you don't need to press or pry on it like some mechanical einsteins claim
No need to disconnect the battery. I would just make sure that the keys are not in the ignition to avoid anyone accidentally starting the vehicle (a child maybe?).
No, I don’t recommend spraying the engine with any water because of the possibility of getting into any electrical connections. Maybe wipe down some areas with a cloth and cleaner, but that’s about it unless you want to take a chance.

Very helpful! Definitely gave me the confidence to do this on my own. Wish me luck!
Should be easy peasy - good luck! 🍀
I'm glad I found you , I'm going to do a tune up on my 2011 this week✌️
Good luck - it should be fairly easy!

Excellent how to, thank you 👍
Thanks a bunch - glad it helped Peter!
I've got oil in mine. Just bought a valve cover gasket. Do I need gasket sealant on any of it?

Glad to help out. Sometimes it hard to tell whether it’s a coil or a plug, but make sure to check the coil first for a misfire.

Yes, thanks for pointing that out.
Thankfully, it comes off relatively easy.
My car is idling i watched the video and thought this was the exact issue. Trying to work on my car and try to learn everything I can.
I got the NGK Spark Plug WireSet from Autozone and I see in the video the kind of spark plugs I need. Will that work?
Thinking I wasted my money on getting the wireset lol
@@Devbby0314 Do you mean a wire set like if you had a distributor cap and rotor (old technology) or a coil for each spark plug?
Do you need to disconnect the battery before changing?
No need to disconnect the battery.
I would just make sure that the keys are not in the ignition to avoid anyone accidentally starting the vehicle (a child maybe?).
Is that a new battery?
Did you ever washed your engine?
