Hi - Thanks for the mention and the link. Much appreciated. You're so right about the rarity factor of this edition. It was never officially offered for sale directly to the public. I do wonder if the UK amount is below 10 cars in total. The only cars I see for sale or spotted are always the same ones. I will find out soon... Mike

    Stef,
Here USA fan here. I hate we got robbed of the Abarth here stateside. I have a 2014 C Abarth and I’m building a garage around my car. I’d love to be able to experience the non US Editions. The multi air is terrible as well. I’d love to get some TJets. Is there a good aftermarket scene in the UK. Hell even wrecked parts would be salvaged and make our US cars better. I can see a good market!

    • @StefABtv

@@StefABtv we have a guy in New Jersey who is very involved with the Abarth Scene. He imports DNA racing products. Have you seen the new shifter they have out. He is bringing TJet engine kits and tunes through “Old School” garage in Italy. I know he know the Abarth Family as well.
It pains me to see Arakopovic exhausts go for 300.00 euro on the used market over there. You can’t get a generic model here for less than $1000.00 shipped.
The fact we got the basic 595 kills me. The chance to buy a 695 Bi-Posto or the 70th Aniversario would be amazing. I think the Monster Yahmaha edition would have done well here.
Everyone here is Dodge Challengers and Chargers. Then the riced out Civic crowd. You see a nice Ford RS or ST now and then. Since the Mustang has gone to $65k there isn’t an entry level sort car anymore. I guess we have the Hyundai Velociter NSpec..
I’ve often though of comping to the UK on a buying trip and ship back to the states. I’m sure there would be tons of TJet parts in salvage yards seeming the number of Abarth there.

Stef good morning, I thought the Ferrari dealer loan cars, were the red twin striped 160 bhp cars, ide seen that red Biposto on Autotrader a while ago thought it was a dealer special one-off. On the Biposto subject, I note there are 6 records and only 2 mattys on Autotrader. These cars look fantastic BUT at the end of the day, they are Track Cars No aircon radio rear seats, rock hard and mainly broken Extreme suspension, ( I've fitted KW variant 3 miles better ) so if you used one for the everyday commute, Good luck your a braver man or lady than me. It is a lovely colour not too dissimilar to my Abarth 595 Comp which is a much better red than my previous Abarth 595 140bhp edition. I would be very surprised if there was very little depreciation in the used car market when it comes to selling these on.

Many Ferrari owners have an Abarth in the garage as well as a more practical small city car. Even their own F1 drivers have these. :-)) The Abarth gets a lot of attention, but a Ferrari is a whole different story. People can get really annoying if they see one and you have to be much more cautious about the car. So if you just want to drive into the city for some shopping or a meeting, the Abarth is the way to go.
So I really doubt that Ferrari customers would be mad since most of them dont drive their Ferraris for long distances anyway because depreciation is crazy on those. Okay, maybe some of them might not that pleased...

Won't be a popular comment im sure.
I'm not sure these cars are even that special. with very little performance improvement over standard cars does not make it special. I'm sure the paint is very nice but abarth missed many opportunities to actually make a truly special car. They blame emissions but other manufacturers have been innovative.
Not to mention the ridiculous rrp even today let alone on release.

Well, the success proves them right. The 500 is a strange car. It is basicly a Fiat Punto, but with a retro design and for a higher price tag. But most of the customers didnt buy the Punto, they bought the 500. And this applies also to the Abarth models.
Its not a matter of performance. Its so much more. With little effort they are bringing more and more special editions to the market, which is highly profitable for them.
Without the 500 and the 595/695 FCA would have been already bankrupt in my opinion.
Unlike the other special editions the Biposto is truely special. The quality of the materials is soooo much better. So much carbon fibre. Lightweight glass, the dog box transmission...

      @abarth595comp5 3 года назад

@@Gentleman...Driver I think you've summed it up. 'very little effort' has been given to all their special editions.
