Don’t listen to him greenhorns. Y’all use that to set your cruise control at speed.👍🏼
I used one back in 2003 but the tractors we had you still had to pull a safety lever that served as a secondary back up device in case this fancy in cab release failed when your on the road
Is it really for that? My truck has this knob and the reason i ask that is because i tried pulling it when 1 spring on the pull handle snapped and i couldnt unhook the trailer.l but it didnt unhook it. Might have pulled a hernia that night trying to unhook but lets pray that that didnt happen
But I love fighting that damn locking jaw!!!! Cmon!!!!
Show how to adjust your 5th wheel
In the Swift manual this is listed as a step 2 emergency maneuver after your steers have become submerged.
LoL 😂😂😂
Hey have you ever tried pulling that while your doing about 65mph on I 94 near Michigan city??? 😉
1st time I got a truck with this kind of knob but this truck don't have the suspension button.....so I stock
I have the same truck you had. Some stupid shope they stole the parts from kingpin Know i am releasing by manually. To bay i can't get it. Could you please take a picture and send me. Please
locked the fifth wheel so jokers can't play games
I get an urge for a cigarette after a good release.
Makes fedex drivers lazy
Pop it like it's hot
You know i will
Stinking piece of shit didn’t want to release! 😠 Now I’m all sweaty from jumping up and down the truck in humid hot south Texas 🥵
I’d rather do a manual release like in my old truck
That is a bummer. Try dumping your air suspension and seeing if it will release that way. Sometimes I have to rock my truck back and forth to get mine to release

Triple bummer .. just today I met up with my dad (who’s also a truck driver) out on the road to see if we can figure this shit out ..
Surprise .. we couldn’t .. after about an hour .. no progress .. we’ve tried lowering the suspension but nothing .. and now my truck lost all air and no matter how much I rev, won’t go passed 60PSI.
To add the cherry on top, right after we were FINALLY able to unhook, my truck gets stuck in the dirt .
Dad pulls my truck with his after using straps (it’s all we had)
Now I’m out, but no air building
Tried tapping the air dryer and draining the air tanks .. nothing.
Luckily the truck stop im at has a Dairy Queen .. so here I am writing this comment while sipping on a blizzard lol
Doesn't it have the manual release handle still?
@@jesusaguirre4898 It did but since it’s not really meant to be used manually, it weight like a ton to pull it out.
I’d pull out my shoulder first
@@PeaceNinja007 yes they do get pretty tuff to pull you need to drop your bags and pull forward and back to loosen up the strain on the pin 😄
Good thing they keep coming up with dumb ideas to make people even lazier and more detached from what they are doing.
