Robert LaPointe right on. From day one since I had the car I knew that this was the first year of the performance loss from the smog crap. However I find it odd that although the 75s may have all the smog issued parts, my car still does not have to be smogged in California (I live in Cali) So I’m thinking that they were preparing for this new smog law. And made the 75s the test car. My car does not have catalytic converters tho
I have to say 78-87 are the best, cant be a G body chevy and I'm a proud 78' SS owner, however when talkin luxury, nuthin beats the 73-77, emissions regulations limited power so chevy put the focus on luxury so I cant complain
I just bought a '73 "Conquista" model El Camino. It is bad ass. There's a knob under the steering wheel that kind of shifts left and right. What is that for? There's a line connected to it that leads to under the steering column area.
Guys come on, there are barely any aftermarket parts made for this gen el camino. Anyone with one of these cars knows that. The hood is obviously custom made. Probably used a scoop from a trans am or something, then cut, and formed the hood to fit around the scoop. And a fine job he did btw... Why would any of you look at that hood and think you can just order one? If you have one of these cars, then you already have one. Go make one like this man did. Cool ain’t easy.
@@simonh5110 nice I'm working on my 73 that I brought from Missouri and drove it back to Michigan. A couple soft spots in the foot Wells cuz the window seals leaked. I think we could put 1973 Camaro front ends on..
Not a 73 but a 76-77 model. You can easily tell by the stacked headlights and fron grill. 73s had a wrap over lip type grill from the hood over the grill & dual round head lamps.
Thats either a 75 or 77.. Not a 73. 72 to 74 were round lights. I have a 74 SS that im restoring from the ground up. Otherwise sir. that is fine elco. Like that exhaust pipes..
and back in the garage for another 10 years
I've owned big blocks and that is the best place for them. Unless you like $20 15 minutes commute
@@457rick WORTH IT 😁
@@457ricknah your just someone who don’t know who to drive their cars
73-77, greatest Camino ever. Love my 74 Camino, the coolest of my four vintage cars.
Mykle Bust I’ve got a 75 and don’t understand why the 73-77elcos get a bunch of hate!

I love my 74 elco, I think it's the best looking of all the different years (although I do like the 69's).
I just bought a 73 el Camino, already in love with it and iv not even restored it yet
My dad had one. A squirrelly proposition. The back end was too light, but you could burn out all day.

Nice finish. 1973 El Camino body style, but 1975 quad square headlights. 1973 has dual round headlights.

Great engine and looks good but a damn shame that the once great El Camino came to look like this.

Maybe 1975-77?😊
