Please share your experience of altroz diesel like cabine noise, engine refinement, mileage, performance , DPF issues etc. It would be really helpful to me
The reason why the diesel is much more fuel efficient during open throttle is due to it's higher thermal efficiency. The higher compression ratio and greater calorific value of diesel also helps. At higher RPM the turbo spools up allowing much better volumetric efficiency in the combustion chamber. This also results in a high torque output at a much lower rpm which allows strong acceleration without revving your car nuts as in the petrol. I had a Zen Diesel as my first car it used to return 27-28 kmpl. I remember it used to be cheaper to drive down from tvm to cochin than to travel by an ac train. The car was great to drive too. A great mile muncher.

Our BOLT owners group has a member who owns a BOLT Diesel (Quadrajet) and an Altroz Diesel (Revotorq), both full options. Even if he has an alto too for his parents to drive, he says he don't feel like selling BOLT because it is so easy to maintain. He doesn't have even minor niggles like rust in door handles, which is found in many of our cars. Apart from that, the batteries for BS6 cars too are expensive, which makes him feel that keeping the BOLT would be the good idea. BOLT battery still can be bargained below 5k but last month he replaced his Altroz battery for 7k.
Diesel is always the king 🔥🔥 When I bought my diesel car in 2022, the Xuv300 w8 O, and my previous 2 cars were petrol, people were like 'Its a mistake, don't buy diesel for low running, diesel cars will discontinue soon etc.' But I bought it anyways. There is a turbo lag, but after that the 300nm pull give you an adrenaline rush. Due to the more weight, the ride is planted. And that intimidating engine sound 🔥, I am surely become a diesel head after I bought mine. The funny thing was, when I had given the car to pollution testing, it failed due to the exhaust is so clean 😂. The dpf filter is keeping the bs6 norms very well.
Is it sensible buying a diesel Altros in 2023 basically for day to day city use and occasional long drives? What's your opinion? Or else go for a 1.2 L Dca
Zen diesel used to have issues with front suspension and front tyre wear out due to the weight of engine.. not sure if it was actually due to that engine weight or misfit platform
Disagree with the statement that forgein car makers don't show the commitment to Indian Market. It's not laziness, the margins that they get from Indian market is wafer thin compared to other markets. I live in UK and let's take Ford Fiesta (a Hatchback), the 1.0l Ecoboost Titanium starts at £19000 (approx 19 lacs) and now let's think about Ford Figo in India which started from 4 - 5 lacs. Seeing the price points you can imagine the margins that Ford made from either of these two cars. From here it's a simple business decision for OEMs do they invest more money in designing a product that is India specific for these thin margins or keep grinding untill they they hit jackpot like Duster did for Renault back in the day. By the time they get to an answer to this question most of the OEMs keeping piling on YoY losses and in the end quit the market.
I am not an expert but when talking about margins, I think the manufacturing costs too will be different, and dont see any reason for manufacturing in India to be expensive. companies will not launch a product at loss, Loss happens when sale target not achieved. They ar talking how they could have attracted more sales. 😄🙏
@@athul100001 IMO what he told is a valid point. Indian companies making profit and re investing here is natural. But due to the difference in purchase power parity, it is not viable for a foreign company to take the feeble margin they are getting from Indian market and invest further in their ventures abroad. Its not worth it. Only thing they could do to be profitable is cheaply manufacturing vehicles in India and exporting to other markets, which many of them are currently doing.

Only channel never skip a single second 👍🏻
The Ultimate power of Diesel. Can't explain, but feel it.
Completely agree with every word you say! What to upgrade to from my 2012 Punto Diesel is going to be a problem :)
As a user of altroz diesel it is nice car with good riding and power efficient. So Happy as a user.
Listening to you on my drive to Bangalore (when I'm not driving) Made great listening. Thanks, guys!
My family owned a Diesal Indica a few years back, and it's was the first car that I learned how to drive. It was a good car at that time.
2017 Figo sport diesel Average 24 km/L kittum undayirunnu. But 60000 km nu shesham mileage kuranju around 20 km/ l ullu . Performance is more than adequate for the price range
That was so nice of you guys to take us along on one of your road trips 😀 That back bencher joke 👌😅

The roadtrip is always fun.
Im owning baleno petrol once i was doing a trip from tvm to blr where vehicle was loaded with luggage with 5 people it took around 10 hours to reach blr with 6-7 pitstop and i was trying to keep 100 to 130 kmph in the whole journey still i was getting around 23 kmpl it costed me around 5000 rupees including toll where i stretched upto mysore from blr
That was a cost effective trip only the thing was need to make frequent gear shift to overtake and to keep up the speed
I love diesel vehicles which started after driving my brothers verna 1.5 vgt liked its low end torque and turbo spool easy overtakes back in 2012 and i regreted for not purchasing diesel baleno in 2017 but after experiencing mileage i was getting in petrol baleno i am now happy with the purchase , currently for my daily commute i fill 5L of petrol and it can reach around 90 to 115 kilometers depending upon the traffic but most of the times its above 100 kms
For last 14000 kilometers i havent resetted the trip and the average showing is around 19.7kmpl where i havent done any long trips only the trip i have done is like 3-4 tvm - ernakulam trips under that 14000 kms
You gentlemen are so HONEST... I mean not just in auto-journalism, but seemingly in your personal lives too.. it's refreshing to witness.. it's not too common in the social media space..
I'm glad your media exists on RUclips for me to spend my spare time gaining relevant information.

tata should add the feature UV cut glass like baleno offers.
If any aftermarket UV cut glass available for cars?
I'm happy to have and retain the Figo 1.5 Diesel. That is a gem to sip through Chennai traffic and long trip cruise on Tamilnadu Highways. The same is now serving in hilly areas of Kerala where my other Gi10 petrol even struggles to pull up.
I always loved Figo diesel. I was even planning to buy one. Then Ford left. What's your opinion on buying a used Figo/freestyle diesel? Especially regarding servicing and spare parts?
@@Capflyingso far no issues with service , but some uncertainity is there as how long they will provide or retain service centers in future? My 2016 figo with 1.37 lc kilometers and still going strong with a decent mileage of around 20 kmpl .
@@Capflying service and spareparts will not be an issue but resale will be when you finally sell it. So buy only when a very good deal is available. try to save on purchase

My Renault Pulse 1.5diesel ages 9 years and near to 2lk km, and still makes me happy and relaxed especially on long drive than the new petrol engines...
I got a Petrol Altroz when it got launched. Base model. Thinner tyres so it gives mileage close to 25 when i drive on highways (I make regular trips to Bangalore and back through Tamilnadu). Ride comfort vere level anu. Top speed i tested was 175 kmph. The aerodynamics of the car contributes a lot to the mileage too IMO.
Great video guys. Facts too. Should've got a diesel instead of petrol lol.
as a car enthusiast, each and every episode of ur channel is very interesting 👍👍
This is the reason i took Altroz XT i-turbo.
And believe me, I got 21 km/l mileage on Palakkad Kozhikode Highway with my i turbo.
thats not possible
Long awaited road trip. Enjoyed it. 💙
You have rekindled my memory of my Figo diesel Enoch was a ice car except two points low GC and engine noise
Good talking friends
Its a misconception that small petrol is efficient. Not as efficient as a diesel neither has the torque. I drive a family mpv in another country and i am glad that i chose the diesel.
Last week, Manasi TATA is appointed as vice chairperson of Toyota India.

In ❤️ with all diesel engines.
We may miss that diesel cars :(
We'll miss that torque for sure....
More than indica swift made diesels desirable. Another diesel car not mentioned here is the amaze diesel. It is such an gem with diesel cvt combo. On the same route coimbatore to bangalore. I enjoyed the car. Efficiency and performance. It was crazy the cvt never crosses 2000rpm till 120 Something only seen in diesels automatics innova crysta at does 140 @2000 rpm. Once in bangalore smooth automatic at home. The same combination on jazz or city 4th gen would be great. They have the car they have the engine gearbox why don't they use it. Same with tata I expected tata punch to have this engine.

Honestly guys, this video took me back to a "true talking cars" era. Lately the vibe had changed little.. and altroz diesel can set increments for cruise control in the settings.
I’m enjoying ur road trip rather than sitting in the car and talking about the car..but practically everyday it is not possible to travel.I had a fiat punto from 2012 now I replaced with Vw virtus.those time diesel were 45 rs as u said,I go everywhere with my punto, as u said like off roading and interstates it was a 💎,and the engine was India’s national engine..1.2 mjd, many of the car hearts were mjd in those time.

So ..how you cleared the test
