He has the lyrical genius of The Boss, but still manages to be his own person. When Bruce retires, Brian will take over as the blue collar everyday man hero.
I love all these references to TGA stuff and The Clash reference. These lyrics are just amazing. I don't know how he does it but I love every bit of it... I came to this world in a seaside town where the water could cool your broken body out I learned you can rise over the cards in your hand Mama was a woman and a hard-workin' man Now everyone I know had to make their own bed Try to do as good as their fathers did for them I never knew mine so I bandaged the hurt I pretended that my daddy was a bank robber Oh but you, you always said, "You're just too good a ship to wreck." You said, "Never mind nothin', there's a summertime humming once the bandages come off." Yes, and you always believed there was some kind of diamond in me Oh but if you still burn every night in the hurt, I know a place where the pain doesn't reach Come wander with me Come wander with me Now I tried to believe but it's so hard to know How to do right, Rudy, with the seeds that we've sewn But the voices are loud and the miles are long And heroes are a hard thing to find when you're gone Oh but you, you always said, "You're just too good a ship to wreck." You said, "Never mind nothin', there's a summertime humming once the bandages come off." Yes, and you always believed there was some kind of diamond in me Oh but if you still burn every night in the hurt, I know a place where the pain doesn't reach Come wander with me Come wander with me Now I hope the things that trouble me, they don't catch you or put you on your knees But I found out time and work don't make you a man Because time didn't teach me anything, and the working only broke my hands And when someday came I did not understand U-understand, understand Oh but you, you always said, "You're just too good a ship to wreck." You said, "Never mind nothin', there's a summertime humming once the bandages come off." Yes, and you always believed there was some kind of diamond in me Oh but if you still burn every night in the hurt, I know a place where the pain doesn't reach Come wander with me (it's hard to sleep, I can bring you a dream, my baby, come wander with me) Come wander with me
Daren Redman i hear hard to find when you're grown. If it is or isn't is that a reference to another song like bankrobber? He says sing twice after both those verses.
He does it so damn well I love this guy he gives you a hard luck story or something dark and then he gives you that chorus that gives youths feeling of hope and better things comin
I would rather brian fallon just do what..he's good at rather than get all experimental and risk falling flat...His solo work is surprisingly good..luv it!

filmnoirx I have great memories of that record too. Not quite in the 59 sound league but not many albums if any can come anywhere near that amazing record.
I'm not gonna lie, at first I didn't like that one too much, i thought so maybe that's the second song Brian Fallon has ever written that I don't like... But holy cow, the development within this song blows me away
I know what you mean, When I first heard the beginning of My Name Is The Night I just wasn't sure, but after a couple of listening I'd put it on my all time favorites list. Sometimes I wonder how he can keep putting out masterpiece after masterpiece and prepare myself to be disappointed. It hasn't ever happened I've yet to be disappointed and may be beginning to think that I never will be.
I kind of understand where your coming from, compared to TGA and some of Brians earlier work some do come across as a little on the "poppy" side, not nearly as raw and gritty. How ever they do have a way of growing on you. Slick production put aside they are still great and showcase Brian's lyrical artistry. . Just Imagine these songs when Brian does them live, stripped down and acoustic , tears will fall like rain. Sleep walkers could very well end up being some of his best work. One thing is certain Brian is not afraid to put his emotions into his work. He makes you feel like he feels, He makes you look at your own pain and gives you the feeling that he's been there and understands. and that in the end it's all going to be alright.. .
this guy needs a better vocal processor great songwriter but his vocals have to many minor skips. or maybe he has nodes on his vocal chords, something is always off though.
"Momma was a woman and a hard working man."
Amen.
"You're just too good a ship to wreck" Love your stuff Brian. One of the best musicians of our generation without question....cheers
He has the lyrical genius of The Boss, but still manages to be his own person. When Bruce retires, Brian will take over as the blue collar everyday man hero.
This one gets into your head and once it gets there, it never leaves it.
Everytime i get a notification on my phone for a new Brian Fallon song I get a big smile on my face. 😁
ill bet ;)

This is hard to say but it's probably my favourite from sleepwalkers I hate picking :///
My first listen and each song seems better than the last. When it comes to choosing my favorite can I just say all of the above?
People are gonna hate me for liking this record more than I like the 59 sound
I did not like Painkillers I love this record.
It's been a few months from my first listen. I think this is the best album in his whole collection, and I lOVE 59 sound.
fuck I wanna wander with him
Very gaslight anthem , could be on American slang . My favourite song so far ...
mr pele I definitely thought the same thing. It took me back when American Slang was put out and it was such a good time. I love this record!!
filmnoirx I have great memories of that record too. Not quite in the 59 sound league but not many albums if any can come anywhere near that amazing record.
Shout out Red Bank nj
Some fucking boyo

Konstantin Schaller what's the first?

I'm a huge Brian Fallon fan, but this album seems too polished, something off with the whole thing.
You can't be serious
Booooooo hisssssss
listen it it just a couple of more times and it'll become your favorite, no doubt.

i reckon his voice is dope!
Very disappointing. Expected the Jeff Alexander song, and instead discovered this artist lacks the ability to create a unique song title. Sad.
Of course there are no two songs that have the same title, ever... oh wait...
