    Additional Tip why AD200pro is the best for beginner***
    taking into account that you already have 1pc Ad200pro and you want to increase your flash power..
    You can purchase another ad200pro & ADB2 Mount ..you can use 2pcs ad200pro on ADB2 Mount..making it a 400watts flash..
    also when you have a wireless trigger you can control the 2pcs ad200pro mounted in adb2 seperately..ad200pro 1 group a. ad200pro 2 group b.
    I should have purchase the ad400pro..luckily i found out about adb2..2pcs ad200pro + adb2 is mucg much better than ad300pro or ad400pro

      This unit is intended for stills photography and not for video. The modeling light is too weak to provide adequate light for video.
      At this time I do not know of one unit that can do a good job with both video and photography. I’m sure that tech is coming in the near future, but right now you’re better off with dedicated units for each use case.

    its great and all but... i think i will get a v1 or v860ii. i know this is better but i need something that i can throw on my camera and work like that. maybe when i will grow a bit, will get this as a second light. whats your opinion tho, v1 or v860ii?

    • @austinlindsay
      @austinlindsay  2 года назад

      I own the v860ii, it’s a great light. I do use it when I need a smaller light on set, but it has less power and a slower recycle time. So, I rarely use it.
      I think the V1 or V860 would be great for event photography. But even a lot of wedding photographers I know start with AD200/200Pros and set them up around the room. You can get much more dramatic light when your flash isn’t on your camera.
      These are just my opinions. You definitely gotta get what works best for your purposes. :)

    Looking at the Godox mount on the AD300, would you say this might be just as portable if you include a AD-S65 Softbox on a shoot?

    • @austinlindsay
      @austinlindsay  3 года назад +1

      Yea. That AD300 with a Bowen’s mount softbox is pretty portable. Something to consider about using Bowen’s mount modifiers though, is they’ll fit on a wider variety of photo and video lights. The Godox mount only fits on Godox lights.
      So, if you’re going for small and lightweight a modifier with a Godox mount is a great way to go. But, if you’re needing versatility as well, I recommend Bowen’s mount modifiers.

    Hi! Is the AD 200 pro compatible with the X2T-F trigger? And will I be able to access the lower power settings (1/256) using either the X2T-F or another godox speedlight such a TT350F?

    • @austinlindsay
      @austinlindsay  3 года назад +1

      I know they will connect. I have not personally used the X2T trigger. But, I found this info in a forum that may help:
      Standard range is to 1/128, to get the extended range down to 1/256 you need to go into the custom settings and choose 1/256.
      Turn on XPro then Press Menu Button>Scroll to MIN>Press SET Button>Scroll to 1/256 and select SET Button>Select RETURN arrow.
      If you cannot do this, maybe you have a defective trigger. I have no problem with either of my triggers. I make the change only with the trigger on, no strobe (it is turned off)

      I’ve never done real estate photography so, I honestly have no idea which one would truly be better. Specifically since I hear most real estate photographers bracket shoot.
      But, when I recommend buying brighter lighting if you have the budget. It’s easier to reduce the power output of a light when you don’t need it than it is to get more light when you don’t have it. If that makes sense.

      Ohhh I see what you’re talking about now. That is the diffuser that comes in the AKR1 kit. And you’re right, it is reflecting the tube light in the background so it does look like a little slit.
      You can get empty filter frames (the AKR1 comes with 1) and remove the gel, and put in your own cardboard cutouts in the frame and put that over the light head.
      Keep in mind you’d need a focusing lens in front to really get the shape to be sharp. But, with the AKR1 kit, the option to mess around is a possibility.
