Serena never had any ambitions or goals, got everything in life handed to her and got away with all the horrible things she did - which were a lot btw, she was just as backstabbing as Blair, even though she always got extremely upset and offended when someone called her out for being a bad person. Blair, on the other hand, may have been just as spoiled as Serena but she never expected anything to be given to her for free. She had dreams and worked very hard for them and it is far more entertaining to watch her pursuing her goals (with all its ups and downs) than watching Serena drifting through life doing nothing except dating and partying.
I liked ivy’s character as a con artist who’s only longing for family but they ruined it with rufus and william. She should’ve just fought lily alone or with lola. Their tandem was good
More like Juliet's true reason for the plot. The show always made Juliet into someone who just wants to take Serena down to show she has the power to and then it comes out Juliet did everything to Serena because of genuine hurt feelings and betrayal. And the fact that Serena was innocent made the story better.

I started watching GG after it was over and with the knowledge that Dan was the GG. So everytime GG posted sth detrimental and Dan acted so coy, I was baffled. Mara Ty Dan and Blair were actually the purest couple in GG. They didn’t do horrible things to each other like Chuck and Blair did. Blair became so much more than the shallow, snobby schemer when she was with Dan. And he saw her as more than just Queen Bee, and appreciated her intelligence. They had a very mature relationship, that was beyond just a high-school romance. It’s kinda sad that the squealing Chair fans robbed us of a healthy relationship. It’s unfortunate that shows like GG reinforce to young girls that toxic relationships and abusive boyfriends are hot.

the car crash gave me MASSIVE princess diana vibes, the photographers chasing the car, the woman who just left a prince and was in the car with the man she left him for. the only good thing about this crash was that blair and chuck survived
Well it’s confirmed that from the beginning the writers chose Eric as the original gossip girl, but they changed it after an article came out that guessed Gossip Girl was Eric. Dan being gossip girl was a change they made later in the series, so I think it was just a coincidence they panned to Dan in that scene in Ep 1
You got to feel for Chuck. One parent coming out the grave to cheat him out of his hotel and the other to kill him. He's a saint that he wasn't any more screwed up than he was.

8:38 Don’t get me wrong, i ship Blair and Chuck but I loved Louie he was always super charming and he waited for Blair for hours, Chuck immediately left when her “time was up”, she was late she actually did show up!! When Chuck agreed to let her go he recognized this, he knew that Louie was capable of loving Blair and demonstrating it to her! Chair was a toxic relationship and Blair and Louie were just so good together (even though she revealed she still loved Chuck and wasn’t in the relationship for the right reasons). If dan and Blair actually happened for a period of time, or ended up together then it would have made sense to Blairs character because since s1, chuck has been apart of Blair. If the writers put Dair as the finale couple, it just wouldn't make sense and be completely confusing.
Dan being gg finally made sense to me. He put himself on the map. He created a blog that made people notice him and created this storyline that involved him from the outside trying to become one of the popular kids
Dan being GG made so much sense to me, he always wanted to be on the inside, he was the writer of the show and a good one at that etc. etc. It was obvious it was going to be one of the mains and not a parent or side character because they always targeted people at school and it would be too obvious to be Blair, Nate, Chuck or Serena. I always suspected either Jenny, Vanessa or Dan but either way I was still shocked when I watched it. Loved the ending either way and it will always be one of my fave shows 🥰

Dan and Blair's kiss wasn't that shocking. They had a cute frenemy connection right from Season One, when Dan told Blair about his mother, and always gave her good advise. Still so bitter about those two :( We were robbed of an actually beautiful and healthy relationship, with witty banter and intellectual stimulation. Dan and Blair made each other better people. They should have been endgame!
I'm such a Dair shipper. Chuck and Blair were toxic to each other, Blair was a better person when she wasn't with him. Chuck was a horrible human. And you can tell it was last minute because there were moments when Dan acted shocked over Gossip Girl posts even when he was alone. He also emailed Gossip Girl once and even got an email back while Blair was with him?? And if he was Gossip Girl, that also means he was tracking Carter Baizen, a guy he doesn't even know, all over the world for no apparent reason. It's obvious the writers had no idea who Gossip Girl was in those earlier seasons, and basically pulled a name out of a hat. Dan being Gossip Girl made no sense.
I’m probably the only one that thinks it does make sense..... if you think about the clues throughout the seasons..... serena asks gossip girl to meet her, Dan is the first to show up...... Dan leaves before serena and the gang can expose him at graduation. And Jenny knew, or found out, she could have helped him at various times when he emailed gossip girl a tip. All the events he was at and everything he knew, it all makes sense when you watch the show back. Plus he was a writer and writers take from personal experiences, he’d need the experience to write about it.
i always thought there were moments that pointed to him being gossip girl, but they were mostly just coincidences that made the theory more plausible imo. personality wise, i think it made perfect sense for him to be gg & it fit him as a character, but u can tell they hadnt planned on it being him from the beginning bcuz there were also a lot of moments where it didnt make sense (in terms of what was happening on screen). tldr if they'd planned on it from the beginning, it would've made perfect sense but there were too many holes in the story.

Imagine if Nate had been revealed to be Gossip Girl, then you would now write that it makes total sense because he was the only one who never sent a single blast to GG or had any kind of conversation with her (as shown when Diana searched for Nate's name in GG's private e-mails and found nothing, while there were hundreds of e-mails from all the other characters), the only one who's reputation was never badly hurt from any of her posts, the only main character who would have had a motive to take down Serena, Blair and Chuck after what they did to him during the first season, and so on. You can find circumstantial evidence like this for all the other characters as well. Even the theories about Dorota kinda made sense.
I just finished watching this series for a 2nd time and I'm sorry....I just can't accept Dan as Gossip Girl. It felt like the writer's wrote themselves into a box, and picked the most outrageous choice. Still love the show regardless.

I had to skip past that Jenny scene, it pisses me off so much. That part is what really made me hate her. And the fact that Blair did show up to the Empire State Building, she was just late. Ugghhhh!!!!!

Well it’s confirmed that from the beginning the writers chose Eric as the original gossip girl, but they changed it after an article came out that guessed Gossip Girl was Eric. Dan being gossip girl was a change they made later in the series, so I think it was just a coincidence they panned to Dan in that scene in Ep 1

8:38 Don’t get me wrong, i ship Blair and Chuck but I loved Louie he was always super charming and he waited for Blair for hours, Chuck immediately left when her “time was up”, she was late she actually did show up!! When Chuck agreed to let her go he recognized this, he knew that Louie was capable of loving Blair and demonstrating it to her! Chair was a toxic relationship and Blair and Louie were just so good together (even though she revealed she still loved Chuck and wasn’t in the relationship for the right reasons). But then, the writers had to go and screw it up by making him FORCE her to stay in a loveless marriage or be indebted by her dowry JUST so that she could go back to Chuck because they made Louie TOO GOOD of a love interest.

If dan and Blair actually happened for a period of time, or ended up together then it would have made sense to Blairs character because since s1, chuck has been apart of Blair. If the writers put Dair as the finale couple, it just wouldn't make sense and be completely confusing.

Dan being GG made so much sense to me, he always wanted to be on the inside, he was the writer of the show and a good one at that etc. etc. It was obvious it was going to be one of the mains and not a parent or side character because they always targeted people at school and it would be too obvious to be Blair, Nate, Chuck or Serena. I always suspected either Jenny, Vanessa or Dan but either way I was still shocked when I watched it. Loved the ending either way and it will always be one of my fave shows 🥰

Dan and Blair's kiss wasn't that shocking. They had a cute frenemy connection right from Season One, when Dan told Blair about his mother, and always gave her good advise. Still so bitter about those two :( We were robbed of an actually beautiful and healthy relationship, with witty banter and intellectual stimulation. Dan and Blair made each other better people. They should have been endgame!
I'm such a Dair shipper. Chuck and Blair were toxic to each other, Blair was a better person when she wasn't with him. Chuck was a horrible human. All those that hate in Vanessa (I didn't like her either but still) or Jenny excuse all the truly terrible things Chuck did because of a few good moments he and Blair had. And you can tell it was last minute because there were moments when Dan acted shocked over Gossip Girl posts even when he was alone. He also emailed Gossip Girl once and even got an email back while Blair was with him?? And if he was Gossip Girl, that also means he was tracking Carter Baizen, a guy he doesn't even know, all over the world for no apparent reason. It's obvious the writers had no idea who Gossip Girl was in those earlier seasons, and basically pulled a name out of a hat. Dan being Gossip Girl made no sense.
I’m probably the only one that thinks it does make sense..... if you think about the clues throughout the seasons..... serena asks gossip girl to meet her, Dan is the first to show up...... Dan leaves before serena and the gang can expose him at graduation. And Jenny knew, or found out, she could have helped him at various times when he emailed gossip girl a tip. All the events he was at and everything he knew, it all makes sense when you watch the show back. Plus he was a writer and writers take from personal experiences, he’d need the experience to write about it.
i always thought there were moments that pointed to him being gossip girl, but they were mostly just coincidences that made the theory more plausible imo. personality wise, i think it made perfect sense for him to be gg & it fit him as a character, but u can tell they hadnt planned on it being him from the beginning bcuz there were also a lot of moments where it didnt make sense (in terms of what was happening on screen). tldr if they'd planned on it from the beginning, it would've made perfect sense but there were too many holes in the story.

Imagine if Nate had been revealed to be Gossip Girl, then you would now write that it makes total sense because he was the only one who never sent a single blast to GG or had any kind of conversation with her (as shown when Diana searched for Nate's name in GG's private e-mails and found nothing, while there were hundreds of e-mails from all the other characters), the only one who's reputation was never badly hurt from any of her posts, the only main character who would have had a motive to take down Serena, Blair and Chuck after what they did to him during the first season, and so on. You can find circumstantial evidence like this for all the other characters as well. Even the theories about Dorota kinda made sense.
I just finished watching this series for a 2nd time and I'm sorry....I just can't accept Dan as Gossip Girl. It felt like the writer's wrote themselves into a box, and picked the most outrageous choice. Still love the show regardless.

Technically Blair sold him out for a toast first. They went behind each others back thats why they needed to be successful om their own on season 4 .
