Thats completely stupid to say haha. Almost everything is amazing on VR. I've tested most of the games and it's crazy how good it is even this early on after it's release.
I would have to try it tbh but I still think Horror games will be the staple of VR, but I haven't seen or tried any of the other games can you list some games for me to check out?
Aesthetic Stalin on console the novelty will definitely ware of. I mean it's expensive to make a vr game and it's all indy devs and trying to optimise for consoles will be hard to keep the devs vision of what they wanted the game to be.
Solid Snake well we don't know yet how this is going to do and which companies are going to get their hands on this if the prices of all of the VR equipment that is out there does not go down then I do not see many people by it right now I would buy the PlayStation vr over the HTC any day one I love the PlayStation 4 two the price
Who is bether PS4,XBOX ONE or an GAMING PC? A: GAMING PC because the pc got bether grafics, more Frames per second, more stuff to make gaming conftarble, you can work on it if u want, you can have a maus and a keyboard (bether controll) and you can write fast, AND ONLINE IS FOR FREE!!!
Well hehe No. We now that a rx 480 can handle VR, and this card costs about $200-230 Pair it with a $170 i5 and you are good to go. PSVR is only worth it if you are in a very tight budget, and I still, dont recommend it.
+A17 GaminG You didnt even add the price of the other computer parts and the vive which cost $799 while a ps4 costs $299 and with the ps vr added the total cost would be $800 which is far cheaper
Wow a pc? Consoles have much better ganing experience. So what if you want to play cod or fifa. Oh wait you cannot even play online with 500 people in a lobby
Psvr is amazing. It saved my interest for video games which kind of wore out after 35 years of being a gamer....VR is the future. Just play Astro Bot and Moss and you will know why. Best games Ive played in ages...
Woodlab 745 i myself have tried it and I’m not a fan because it has terrible tracking, i am getting a quest for my birthday and hope it has better tracking
Tbh, now that we're in 2019, the PSVR Headset has come a long way, the price for it did go down as well. The motion controllers are still weird to handle, but the aim controller does very well. As a current PSVR Headset owner, this is still the best compact Headset you can own.
@@volsavious2319 And the Quest 2 after that. Still, being as unbiased and honest as possible, PSVR's oled screen keeps offering a good image with vivid colors and pure blacks, its average FOV is still higher than the Quest's and any games available on both headsets running on each's native hardware, like, say, Sniper Elite - for fair assessment, let's put aside the PC link for the Quest or hooking the PSVR to a desktop to run Steam games - don't look dramatically better on the Quest than they do on PSVR. If anything, after weighing each system's pros and cons, it might be argued that they look roughly the same, generally speaking.
Nah, General conscientious was to buy a vive months ago because they were the only one with motion controllers. Rift has 10x more content (steam is full of demos, maybe 5-10 decent VR games), better screens and ergonomics, built in audio, its easier to use and now has lower minimum specs. Plus the new touch motion controllers are much better than the vive wands. Oculus is currently in the lead on the PC front, they always had the better headset but they lacked in overall experience with Touch not being out. Though they are both great, one is clearly better. You can use Rift+Touch with everything on steam and Oculus home while you cant do on a Vive. Oculus tech was always capable of "roomscale"; A marketing term thought up by HTC; but now they officially endorse it to those with the space. It's totally doable with 2 cameras which you have with Touch. Apps that run on Oculus home are smoother, less buggy, and generally much higher quality than what you find on the steam store. This is because Oculus has Asynchronous time warp, and Asynchronous space warp. These technologies help with smoothing everything out when you miss frames, which is incredibly important in VR. On the Vive, Valve just lets you enjoy the judder from terrible performance. I believe they have only smoothed out head rotation. Oculus are funding 500million into making these games happen while HTC/Valve are for the most part letting the indies handle it. Do some research before you blindly tell people to buy a 800$ device + a 900-1000$ pc. With Oculus, you can get in with a 500$ PC today and there are many advantages that you dont hear come up with the Vive fanboys.
I dislike Vive fanboys, I own and Oculus and ordered the touch controllers afew days ago. People are still telling me "ohh we have been doing that on our vive for months". No you have not. The Oculus Touch can track fingers, which can be used for all kinds of things, not just social gestures. It can be used to interact with UI features, or even to grip objects in experimental ways, or to puppet more elaborate/non-realistic hands or things.. But mainly, what the finger tracking is there for, is to give you an enhanced sense of hand-presence. By seeing your fingers move, it adds to how much your brain believes those are your real hands, and further breaks the barrier that stops ur brain from feeling true presence. Also, the way Touch is designed to be held is pretty important for hand-presence. Vive is basically a wand/baton controller, which can be held in several hand-poses, and it is very hard for developers to predict where a player's hand may be on the controller, making it hard to line up virtual hands properly. Touch is made to be held the same way by everyone, in a predictable/ergonomic way that developers can count on, and line up the virtual hands better with. This of course enhances hand-presence. You can use fingers to push virtual buttons, or interact with UI in otherways, and it can do the exact same things any other in-game model/scripted entity can do.
Effel Offens Your talking about something thats not out. I'm sure vive is working on something and when it comes out, 6 months later the oculus will get it.
Comes down to price honestly. From what people have seen on day one, PSVR technically works with PC and XBone. All we need are some people to crack it and do some coding and it should work with PC. Would be another VR peripheral for those who can't afford Rift/Vive, though you might as well save and get the better ones if you're going PC. But it's still an option.
RAIN Comes out in less than two months. That didnt stop you guys from bitching that the vive was better even with the rift missing motion controllers. Pick and choose your arguments do ya?
I’m sold. Excellent review. I’ve been debating for weeks between this, the rift and the vive. I’m a ps4 gamer so I’m naturally biased but wanted to keep my options open. But this clearly makes sense if you already are used to the ps4 interface. Plus the quality is just as good. I’m super excited! Finally, a way to escape reality without resorting to hard drugs & liquor.
A bit of fun? No offense but you are so wrong. It's mind blowing.. the most fun gaming experience i've ever had. It's absolutely worth buying if you have the money for it.
I only own a Rift and haven't tried the PSVR yet, so I can't say whether the differences are big or small. I can, however, disagree with your second statement, as I've used the Rift both on my PC in my bedroom and a PC in the living room and I really preferred not sitting in the living room. Yeah you have more space, but you also use up a lot more space and especially for seated experiences (which as of now is basically everything for the Rift), sitting in my comfy office chair beats the sofa by a long shot. Maybe I'll reconsider once Touch comes out in December, but as of right now I disagree.
I bought an PS VR, because I wanted to try VR out. I like almost all games so it's no big deal for me. Launch games is never that good but when 2018 gets here there should be a lot of great games on VR.
gregg laganelli I don't think so, it takes time to make a product. I am not sure but I think the PS VR have Oled lens and that right there is the latest Tech.
I was very sceptical and waited for a price drop. I’ve got to say, on the whole, it’s absolutely outstanding and so much fun when guests come over. I really recommend it. 👍😎
Hmmmmm I’m surprised a bunch of weebs haven’t told you that SAO is literal trash I mean Asuna and Kirito’s relationship was forced and sinon was hella better
yeah sony will surely drop support after launch if the ps vr didnt sell well. ps vita psp go ps mobile ps mov- oh wait, they finally include ps move along with ps vr but naaay. it will fail
Humm... I don't know but this is too match first Ps4 slim then vr then Ps4 pro it's all the same but if why need Ps4 pro why also need 4k tv but whait Sony has forgot a 4k bluray player -.- and a new hole setup I'm going to stick with my old Ps4 it was already a bad idea putting Ps+ required for online that's already bullshit but what can why do nothing just accept that or play games only for the campaign :)
As an early VR evangelist had my own channel and I've been watching your channel waiting for THIS review. You've nailed it Austin and deserve all the subscribers you have :D It is important for people to know that VR is NEW but on track to be a GAME CHANGER :))))
The main problem with VR is that not a lot of people have an interest in trying it. Those who do try it tend to go back to normal gaming on a PC or TV. I mean its fun to try, but long term it does not have the kind of mechanics and games to keep peoples attention. Makes it hard to justify spending $500+ on it. IDK how to explain it, its just missing something important.
The best way I can explain it, is that it's one of those things that changed everything. The internet in the mid 90s changed everything, then smartphones in 2007 changed everything again, then nothing happened for ten years until VR and yes -- it completely changed your perspective on what gaming is and should be.

Thanks for the review. I am definitely getting a Playstation VR for my PlayStation Pro
this just popped up in 2023 but i just wanna say even now the playstation vr was such a good starter headset for me. i had it for a couple years and my only complaint with the tracking and limited games but other than that it was amazing
Bought mine two days ago for $190, it came with the camera and gran turismo sports too, plus rush of blood is free for ps plus users. Have been enjoying it so much it so much fun, my mom is really enjoying too.
I actually bought it. It was fun but it was too bulky for me. Also the mask got uncomfortably warm really fast. I ended up returning it. Looking forward to when they make a more compact version of it, hopefully wireless. Also updated controllers wouldn't be bad either.
chiggins If you look at the other prices of Virtual Reality consoles it is actually fairly cheap (If you already own a PS4) but, were in beta stages for virtual reality technology so it seems expensive for what is but for the technology and it value to today's market it's cheap. I'm sure in about 4 years this will be worth only around $200-300
@@fwa7999 In ps store there is psvr section. There you can buy psvr games. You can see psvr icon in your games at the bottom, If they have psvr mode. If you want to play skyrim in vr you will have to it costs 69€ at this price I wouldn't reccomend it. I would say that wait for a sale. It's a great game and a must buy, but not at the 69€ price. I bought it for 25€. You could buy beat saber it's 30€ and it's a lot of fun for a long time.
TL;DW : The tracking messes up if you have a window open because it uses LED for tracking, it's easily enjoyable, the headset can get a bit tight and uncomfortable, the mesh of inside the headset doesnt go well with sweat, no you cant play vr chat (but you can play rec room), Its better than alot of headsets by price and quality. Side note: There is a bad batch of mega packs in Europe. My friend and I got the same one in the same month and they have the same problems (defective left lense and headset turns off sometimes, audio crackles) make sure to get a good one. Enjoy your PSVR
Ordered one from Best Buy this weekend for $349 (which includes Skyrim VR, the camera, and the move controllers). I actually returned my Vive, which I bought two weeks ago (in anticipation of Fallout 4 VR), because I quickly realized that gaming isn't as fun for me if I'm forced to stand up the whole time with certain games. I like that with PSVR I can choose to sit or stand, but not be forced to do one or the other. Although I am missing out on room-scale locomotion, that doesn't bother me too much because it's not really my favorite thing anyways with my chronic back and joint pain.

@@whentheskell2461 in my opinion a oculus is better if you dont have a pc theirs a vr set for $399 its better and more games than the psvr my fav games are vr chat and counter stike vr i think their both free
I would say worth a buy. I got a VR rig with a playstation 4. It makes games a lot more visceral, also recommend Creed: Rise to Glory. You really feel like you are in a Rocky movie.
Before even watching this: The Oculus is ~$500 with minimal accessories (trackers, etc) The Vive is ~$800 with minimal accessories (full room trackers, extra trackers, etc) The PSVR is $200 on *Amazon*, and Amazon is not very generous when it comes to low prices Considering you still need to buy a PS4, that's another $300 (or $400 for the Pro). However, for Vive & Oculus, you need to spend upwards to well above $1000 (not considering the spike in card costs due to bitcoin inflation) on a PC that can properly support it. You can ALSO use the PSVR on PC through the use of third party programs (the effectiveness and or performance of this is unknown to me). So yes, PSVR, with possibly lower quality specs, big awkward dildos for controllers, and limited tracking, is still very much worth it. In my opinion of course. It's the perfect way for people to get into VR if they otherwise could not afford the overpriced head hanchos of the VR scene.
Samsung Odyssey+ (best VR headset on the entire market with thousands of games) $300 new on Black Friday PC that can run games: $700 if you want to run the most games and not just basic stuff Still more than PSVR costs, but with a cheaper headset like Lenovo or Acer ($140) you will still get a FAR clearer and better tracked experience with more in-depth games.
nope, cant do it yet, the viewer pops the screen into a projected cinema mode when web browsing so vr videos don't work when viewed with the PSVR like it would with google cardboard or oculus.
lol, the PSP-1000 with custom firmware and emulators seriously rocks for gaming enthusiasts, even today in 2019; it's like the ultimate old-school all-in-one gaming machine in your pocket... Never underestimate the power of a PSP with custom firmware ; ) .... Nonetheless, I still want Zone of the Enders 2 and Moss in VR, and that's why I am here watching this ; )
My friend has the ps VR and everytime I play a game like skyrim it's like I'm out of this world, it feels like a dream. If I were you I would buy it, 100% recommended

I would have to try it tbh but I still think Horror games will be the staple of VR, but I haven't seen or tried any of the other games can you list some games for me to check out?
Solid Snake yes. I wish pt was not cancelled because that game would be perfect for vr. I would by vr just for that game.

Definitely

Oculus quest comes out 3 years later
Eh I still ended up getting the ps vr
STARDUST 1 it is but it's out of stock
dhhdj quest 2 take its place
With 3 hours of charge time for every 15 minutes played
But is it worth it, didn't even answer your own question
If your looking for an inexpensive (comparatively) VR unit, yes PSVR is worth every penny. Keeping in mind we are at VR's infancy stage.
Well hehe
No.
We now that a rx 480 can handle VR, and this card costs about $200-230
Pair it with a $170 i5 and you are good to go.
+Capt Snuggles But also much worse. PC is just better m9.
Dont really think its worth looks childish to me
Woodlab 745 i myself have tried it and I’m not a fan because it has terrible tracking, i am getting a quest for my birthday and hope it has better tracking
Love the profile pic! Ducky poos!
Tbh, now that we're in 2019, the PSVR Headset has come a long way, the price for it did go down as well. The motion controllers are still weird to handle, but the aim controller does very well. As a current PSVR Headset owner, this is still the best compact Headset you can own.
*Oculus quest has entered the chat*
@@volsavious2319
And the Quest 2 after that.

Its simple, If you have a VR ready PC buy the Vive, otherwise get the PSVR
Nah,
General conscientious was to buy a vive months ago because they were the only one with motion controllers.
Just got this and I'm here to say yes... it is worth it. Some really cool experiences
thank you ryan
It's kinda good for me because I can't tell the difference between other groups headsets if I've not played them
Yeah, his review kinda went in the negative direction because he has tried the better ones.
yea, but if you were planning on buying one of the big 3, I would say do the PSVR because you can now get a bundle for 199, more value for your money
Remarkable SeiF u spoilt kid
Lmao that’s actually some solid logic.
That’s what I was thinking!
Yeah it definitely offers enough aye, even now for a good price it does well enough
Too expensive to just buy for a bit of fun. Not expensive enough to be good. Weird market that they've gone for
A bit of fun? No offense but you are so wrong. It's mind blowing.. the most fun gaming experience i've ever had. It's absolutely worth buying if you have the money for it.
+Travis H
But so is the Rift or the Vive and you're getting the openness of the PC platform as a bonus.
I think it's more for people who can't afford an expensive pc but still want to have the vr experience
its probably an early adopter item that is just put out to acclimate the market.

I am glad these are glasses-friendly.
I am definitely getting a Playstation VR for my PlayStation Pro

where did you get yours for $190?
Ivan Tech It was going for $200 on Dell's website and I used 12% cash back from ebates. The total after taxes ended up being $190
Niko Nice! You can't go wrong with psvr at that price.
I actually bought it. It was fun but it was too bulky for me. Also the mask got uncomfortably warm really fast. I ended up returning it. Looking forward to when they make a more compact version of it, hopefully wireless. Also updated controllers wouldn't be bad either.
You don’t ask for much enjoy the tech for what it is not long till the psvr 2 good times
The fact that no one uses this thing tells me it’s not worth it.

Microsoft has Windows Mixed Reality, which is far better in tracking and is for PC. It is way better than PSVR.

If you look at the other prices of Virtual Reality consoles it is actually fairly cheap (If you already own a PS4) but, were in beta stages for virtual reality technology so it seems expensive for what is but for the technology and it value to today's market it's cheap.

@@fwa7999 In ps store there is psvr section. There you can buy psvr games. You can see psvr icon in your games at the bottom, If they have psvr mode.

Can you play gta 5 because I'm going to the strip club
LMAO
or you know, just watch some vr porn like the rest of us normal human folk...?
Before even watching this:
The Oculus is ~$500 with minimal accessories (trackers, etc)
The Vive is ~$800 with minimal accessories (full room trackers, extra trackers, etc)
The PSVR is $200 on *Amazon*, and Amazon is not very generous when it comes to low prices
Considering you still need to buy a PS4, that's another $300 (or $400 for the Pro).
Samsung Odyssey+ (best VR headset on the entire market with thousands of games) $300 new on Black Friday
PC that can run games: $700 if you want to run the most games and not just basic stuff
Still more than PSVR costs, but with a cheaper headset like Lenovo or Acer ($140) you will still get a FAR clearer and better tracked experience with more in-depth games.

Ceddy Confetti PCvr is from what I know a much better option (i have a vive and wouldn't trade for anything but a valve index)
