Doubt it. Oliur's said he still uses the Magic Keyboard over any of the mechs. There are a LOT of people like that out there, surprisingly. No rabbit hole here.
Nice video and super cool budget build for an entry level! You could improve the sound a little by putting in a sheet of foam intot the Q1 case as it does sound a little hollow.

If Apple made a keyboard then it would be absolutely impossible to customize or repair a single thing on it. You'd have to buy a new keyboard if one keycap broke.

i’ve never built a keyboard before but i got a Keychron K2 as my first mechanical keyboard and DAMN! I should’ve upgraded my keyboard years ago! Although i know there are better options, i am incredibly impressed with the K2 and will likely upgrade to a Q1 or updated version in the future.
I was looking at getting a black keyboard but man the silver looks so nice! Every peripheral on my desk is pretty much black so I think it will be nice to have something that stands out a bit.

Hello! Although I only use this keyboard in blue, and I just found out that the accessories are at the bottom of the box. In Hungary, due to the HU - ISO allocation, it is difficult to find keycaps for it, so I use it half mixed with other compatible caps. Gateron silent black switch is so quiet and smooth that it is the best build of my life so far, I'm just sorry that the NAVY Blue cap is not available in HU distribution.

The upcoming Keychron Q5 could suit your needs. Same material as the Q1 but with a numpad and its quite compact :)
Oliur, I need your opinion on the new Logitech mechanical MX keyboards!
Hi Oliur, put foam inside the case, tape the bottom of the inside board, replace the switches with Gazzew Boba U4 Silent and u will be really happy !
U use the same with the configuration I wrote and its amazing…👌🏽🥂

that's actually really cool, I wanna order the same Q1 with the knob but with the Carbon Blue color, because it really reminds me of past IBM lenovo thinkpad keyboards and it looks so nice

Ive noticed you have a UK layout for the keys, how did you get that? They all seem like ANSI layouts to me on the website for the Q1. Hopefully I hear back from you Olly

@8:30 it seems like you are mostly talking about your switches? What kind are you using in your Mode?
Does the PAGE UP button get in the way of the knob?
I have the original knobless Q1 (American ANSI layout, Shell White case, Gateron Phantom Blue switches) and I love it! I have used the Matias Tactile Pro or Mini Tactile Pro for years, and while I do miss the additional USB ports offered on the Tactile Pro, there's something about the feel and weight of the Q1 that gives me a nice warm squishy feeling inside. I'm just trying to learn how to use the programmability features because I want Delete in the upper right key position (where you have the knob), instead of Insert, which is there now. (I'd also like to figure out how to have the RGB lighting turn on or off with the Caps Lock -- I have no interest in the lighting features otherwise).
I suggest you check out Matthew Encina's channel. He has multiple keyboards that could fit your esthetics.

Is there anywhere that I can get the same mode 65 as you? Apparently it’s been discontinued? What specs did you request to have that nice muted/ softer sound?
The keychron sounds very hollow. It needs some polyfill or foam in the bottom of the case
If Apple made a mechanical keyboard, it would put a notch on it and the charging port would go on the bottom.

Silent tactile swithes which are an absolute joy to use. Very premium :)
Or you can get the Gazzew Boba U4 which are very similar but cheaper

I was like "wow, my dream keyboard as a big apple fan" and then i saw the RGB. It completely ruined the minimal apple vibe of it.
You can disable the RGB entirely

I bought magic keyboard and trackpad. Both sucks. Especially trackpad. 😢. What I experienced as a programmer who working for long hours. Always keep one external monitor 25” max. Keep your mac infront of that (now external monitor and mac is just in front of you dont need to turn your head) with an external logitech ergo mouse. No need of external keyboard. However mechanical keyboard would be good as logitect ergo mouse, since both are big and we can rest our hands.
If Apple builds a mechanical keyboard, it would be Logitech MX Mechanical. you are wrong..
I love your channel but it is not a good keyboard. Cheap keys, bad package, and so on... I can tell varmilo and realforce's keyboard is good, but not this one. It just like cheap 10 bucks keyboard.
Not everyone has $500+ for a mechanical keyboard. This one makes it more accessible to those who are interested.
This is higher quality and more well regarded than any Varmillo keyboard lol. Why even bring Realforce up? It's Topre...
