The Church of Jesus Christ Missionaries Called Home
Each year thousands of 18/19/20 year olds and retired seniors leave their homes for over a year to preach the gospel and serve the Lord around the world. This unique group of young adults spend their days studying, serving and teaching others how to be like Jesus.
In March 2020 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called many of the missionaries serving internationally home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many of these faithful missionaries had little time to pack and say goodbye to the people and the places they had grown to love so much. Watch as many of them sing as they say goodbye to the foreign lands that had become home to them.

Book Of Mormon prophecies and warnings suggest that America is the one in big trouble with God.
I was one of those missionaries being sent home from Madagascar, which was the first Africa clip in the video. It was probably the most heart breaking thing that has happened to us missionaries. Being evacuated and not even getting to say goodbye to the people we have called our families. But I know Heavenly Father has a plan! I have no doubt about that! His work will continue to hasten, we will continue to work with the resources we have until that day when He says "It is finished!" It will all workout.. It always does.

Why is it so heartbreaking to be coming home? I would think you'd be happy to be coming back home.
Our grandson was called home from the Philippines. He was so lost. Out of quarantine now and will find out the next step in his own personal progress through his life's journey.
Sooo many missionaries, impressive at their discipline in serving the Lord. There is good and bad in all of this. The good is that the church cares enough to bring them home no mater where they are serving. The bad, these countries will be without their influence for a long time. Thankfully we have a Prophet to guide us.
They may be without an influence of commissioned full-time missionaries but they will still have their local member missionaries. At baptism, when we take upon the name of Jesus Christ, we are in effect accepting the call to bring His gospel to all the world ♡♡ Every member is a missionary ♡♡ I know that technology has been becoming more and more important for us to learn how to use in order to further His work ♡
The church does not care about their safety, they care about cutting costs just like any large corporation. As soon as the leadership realized they would not be able to proselytize they decided to bring them home, that way the church would save millions in rent, food, health insurance and free itself from the liability in case some of them get the virus and get sick or potentially dies from it. They conveyed the idea that they are doing it out of concern for their welfare but that if far from the truth, only religiously blind people cannot see that.

Our son was just called home from Brazil. 3 days in airports and now he's home for the next 14 days at least. It looks like you compiled this footage from a lot of the S American missions. We are praying that these faithful young women and men will get to go back out soon. BTW, we're new followers.

Thanks for sharing. Anyone who has ever had a loved one (or served yourself) serving as a missionary can't help but be touched by this video depicting so many thousands of young and older missionaries returning home, with many, many still in their assigned places for various reasons. It is a real tear jerker but filled with so much love and hope! God's work will go forward, but perhaps in different ways for the time being.

They are not gathering Israel, if you understood the Bible and Book of Mormon you would know that the gathering of the Remnant of Jacob will be done by God himself. Latter Day Gentiles that repent and turn to God will be numbered among the remnant of Jacob and assist them in building Zion. That is very clear in the Book of Mormon.
@@FFM115 I'm guessing you missed the word "helping" in what was said: "...in their dedication in *helping* the gathering of Israel." ....this is why I'm so grateful for the atonement and Ether 12:27 bc of our many imperfections.
@@FLoW828 The tool for helping the gathering is the Book Of Mormon, however at this point in history a lot of people in the world know about the LDS church and associate the Book with the institution and consequently associate any negative thing about the institution with the Book Of Mormon which is not helping. That is why the prophecies indicate that at one point God will do the work of gathering himself and then the remnant will get converted. Read the words of Christ about the subject in 3rd Nephi chapter 21.

Very touching. I served in Guatemala 30 years ago. My son was in the Mexico City East mission. I would often think how I wanted to go home, but would have been heartbroken if I had to go home.
I know that so many hearts are broken having to leave so quickly.

Sister Amanda H. Wilcox recorded President Heber C. Kimball as saying:
The judgments of God will be poured out upon the wicked to the extent that our elders from far and near will be called home. Or, in other words, the gospel will be taken from the Gentiles and later on will be carried to the Jews. The western boundaries of the State of Missouri will be swept so clean of its inhabitants that as President Young tells us, ‘when we return to that place there will not be as much as a yellow dog to wag his tail.’ “Before that day comes, however, the Saints will be put to the test that will try the very best of them. “The pressure will become so great that the righteous among us will cry unto the Lord day and night until deliverance comes. . . . “Then is the time to look out for the great sieve, for there will be a great sifting time, and many will fall.” (Reported by Amanda H. I don't see tragedy in this. Heavenly Father knew this was going to happen. I loved seeing a whole plane full of missionaries. There are purposes in all
Trisha Christensen it’s totally powerful seeing the plane full of missionaries, and of course God has a purpose and is in control. But as an RM myself, my heart just aches a bit for these missionaries having their incredible, life-changing experiences cut short. And even more for the people in the lands they are leaving behind.
I am an rm as well. I know that alot of them will miss serving where they were called to go. It was such an awesome sight to me. I hope they choose to continue their missions Even if it is in their own towns or state or countries. I am excited to see what the future holds for them and the rest of us!
You have done a great service for mankind you are blessed people great missionaries that love Christ very much dedication

@Jim Caponzi Yes, I got my name during the California fires. I rented a Uhaul van and drove around the state helping families evacuate in my van. Many times I would be working until I was completely exhausted so I would sleep in the van. This is how creepy Mormons are. ;) If your house was to burn down somewhere, I would hope there would be some creepy Mormons nearby to help evacuate you and those you care about in a van.
@Jim Caponzi When 10,000 of your neighboring homes are on fire, like they were in California, there will be as much response from your fire department as there is toilet paper at your local store. But you're welcome to tell the Mormons to pass on by. We believe that men are free to choose liberty or death. (2 Nephi 2:27)

But we know that looking at a snake on a staff can be very difficult because it requires two of the virtues which the world so desperately lacks, hope, and faith.
The real staff is not made of flour or water, like we offer, but is the Bread of Life. Jesus can heal all things, even the broken heart. That is true.

By the way, did you happen to document your journey in the u-haul? That sounds like it would have really made some interesting videos.
My son, Robert Dudfield
organised the Australian missionaries to fly home. He is also organising the South Sea Islands missionaries to go home as well. It has taken weeks for this to be undertaken. As far as I know he is still organising the last missionaries in Australia and the islands surrounding to get home. He and his wife Darice have to wait to leave for their mission as Mission President to Ethiopia in Africa for 3 years. Bless all missionaries and their leaders in this pandemic time in the world and may it will soon be gone. Thanks Heavenly Father for taking care of the missionaries and also all members of the church at this worrying time.
My prayer is that each of them returned to a loving home. The Lord knows and loves his missionaries. ❣️😷😇

Hard to watch this because my missionary son is still stuck under quarantine in a foreign land, thousands of miles away form home and can't get back due to a continuous series of cancelled flights.

Could this be a sign that we near the final time for the world to be blanketed with those proclaiming the Gospel to all the world crying repentance? Such a massive event and movement of missionaries called home all over the world. Some remain behind but such a massive recall just feels big. Well, regardless, it's a major change in the lives of so many, saying goodbye to companions, members, converts, investigators, leaders, friends and the like. Changes that will be remembered for the rest of their lives. The Spirit must have been strong as they sang along and said so long!
Very inspiring, it is not often we have seen many missionaries in one spot. Can you imagine the sight at LAX with this many of them departing. Everyone knows what is was going on. A missionary moment!
Emotions to see so many Missionaries around the world returning home....some just starting settling in and others halfway and others almost finishing.....corona virus came to all nations.... have to be alert and avoid catching it....💕🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🎶🎼♥️

Thank you so much for sharing this video and the warning to bring the Kleenex out. I was in tears. My son has returned back from the West Mission in Salt Lake City because he has asthma. There are several missionaries from the West Mission that were sent home due to their secondary illness. He has mixed feelings. Happy that he is home but sad to leave midstream during his discipleship. God bless them.

Thank you for sharing this is so emotional as I watched this video seeing these young people called back to go home during this unprecedented time I am so grateful that our Prophet Russell M. Nelson along with his councillors had come to this decision for the safety of our young missionaries. Isn't it amazing that the church can have the means of returning these missionaries safely back home to their families?
I don’t even know how to respond to something so filled with hate. Jesus taught to love one another no matter race, religion, sex, or sin. Whoever reads this please know that I don’t believe any loving devout Catholic would ever say such hateful words. I know my catholic friends are kind and loving.

I noticed that too but also noticed just about everyone had masks on at least ♡
Many of these countries were not social distancing yet.
Welcome home missionaries but you must also know that all; church buildings are closed and also that all the temples are closed and stake conferences are closed untill further notice that you must also wear masks . When the missionaries came home to Utah they didnt follow the social distancing rule they flooded the airport so keep your gatherings to famalies only less than ten .
Just think, the standard attire of suits & ties and dresses for the sisters, now added...masks.
