      Apartheid ("Separateness" in the Afrikaans language) is a system put into place by the South African Government in 1948, when the South African Nationalist Party had won elections. It especially is dividing each race Whites, Who had the best treatment, Indians, Which had decent treatment, Black, who had the worst treatment. Examples including, Certain areas that only whites, Indians or blacks can use. Also, Others.
      This is just my explanation.

    • @Dila160
      @Dila160 Год назад +3

      @@Wither5000 Furthermore, because apartheid is probably by far the most extreme form of racial and ethnic discrimination it further divided black Africans into different homelands to create even further divisions amongst themselves. This was probably very key in sustaining the National Party from when it came into power in 1948 up until the late 90s. This was a classic case of divide and rule. Again this is a Historical fact as JZ has been emphasising in his speech.

      Perhaps the best speech ever Mr Zuma. As a young man and to this day, supporting the left wing apposing the"Nats", an active member of the Diversity Forum amongst many others, the speech is only partly accurate. WW2 ended 2 decades before I was born. It is now 2 decades since the end of segregation in SA, which was heinous, juxtaposed to the Holocaust. A rhetorical question, is not time to go forward and stop using segregation, which is still ongoing in many countries. Only SA renamed it "Apartheid ". Majority vs Equity/Equal Rights and a united endeavour to liberate freedom for all citizens born and loyal to this unique country. "Count" the costs of the past 2 decades. Increasing poverty, unprecedented corruption, continuing Hate (Heid) speeches , accountability, desecrated towns/ suburbs, highways, bridges, electricity, water supply, service delivery, disinvestment and every aspect of the economy etc. I am classified as White. But I have 2 beautiful Black Children, love so mutual. My parting wish, is " Heal this land, make it a better place for you and for me." May GOD'S will be done. NKOSI. FORTE' NIHIL DIFFICILIUS.

You rightfully point out, though, that the San and Khoi were the original native people of the Cape. But African people were already living in the areas further east and north.
